Some of the most important stuff you'll ever learn about

I have to agree with Agent's remark about this extreme quantification of metal Now you're just trying to take all the fun out of it -
Frigid and I do just fine

I managed to stay loyal to WCW in 2000... fuck, I was loyal to its dying day WWE 2005 killed what waning interest I had in that promotion.

If that's your criteria, then Pleasure to Kill blows RiB out of the water. This is just my opinion though Just for the hell of it, here's how I'd rate Slayer's "good" discography: Show No Mercy Hell Awaits Reign in Blood Seasons in the Abyss South of Heaven Live Undead Pretty much anything after Seasons has blown though, so that's why in spite of taking their band as my username, they're not my favorite band (that honor belongs to Paradise Lost) -

I can distance myself from nostalgia in order to judge the older metal albums for their face value. First, I think Peace Sells is a wholly solid album and just marginally behind RiP on my Megadeth list. Next, while it's tantamount to metal blasphemy, I think RiB is vastly overrated within Slayer's catalog. Yes it's bookended by two classics in "Angel of Death" and "Raining Blood", but most of the middle is poorly produced super-fast forgettable filler songs with only "Altar of Sacrifice" and "Jesus Saves" sticking in my head as being decent. Hell Awaits is a much better album, with longer/more-developed songs and much better production... you can actually hear Araya's bass lines, which are muddled in the production of RiB. Also, Master of Puppets is slightly behind Ride the Lightning on my personal Metallica list. Having established those opinions, here is my personal "best of '86" list for Tack (and anyone else) to try and rip into: 1. Iron Maiden - Somewhere In Time 2. Kreator - Pleasure To Kill 3. Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus 4. Crimson Glory - Crimson Glory 5. Megadeth - Peace Sells 6. Metal Church - The Dark 7. Queensryche - Rage For Order 8. King Diamond - Fatal Portrait 9. Fates Warning - Awaken The Guardian 10. Cinderella - Night Songs (yes, I know it's a hair metal album, but it's a damn good one) -
I've always been a completionist. I can't move on to the next game until I finish the current one, provided I've enjoyed the current one well enough to try and complete it, of course. This philosophy hasn't done well for me these last few years though, where adulthood and real life has drastically reduced my gaming time to almost nil, though I did get back into WoW recently, but that's a little different

I was at a concert in LA, and the band was having an off night, and some people in the audience started throwing tomatoes at the band. I thought "who would throw tomatoes at the band?" That's bad... but then I thought "who would bring a tomato to a show in the first place?" That's worse. -Mitch Hedberg

Too roight! Also, it's been well established that Leena misuses big words to embiggen her intellectual appearance

JYD had a brief stint in WCW mid '92. He also facilitated Mr. Hughes brief return to his original Big Cat gimmick

I enjoyed Malcolm for the first two years or so, then it fell off the map for me. It didn't help that the episodes starting blurring together (Lois is pissed at the kids and Malcolm frequently looks at that camera with his "What am I going to do?" look) and then it fell victim to JTS syndrome #2 (new baby)

Even if it was on DVD, as a period piece it would get especially screwed on the music rights issues. Just think about some moment on the show where something hits Kevin hard and in the b/g they played "Turn Turn Turn". Now imagine that same moment, except replaced with some generic music instead... That's what happened with the Happy Days set

As a fellow Beavis and Butthead fan, I agree completely. After hearing how that DVD set was treated, I never bothered purchasing it. One of the other issues why DVDization has sucked has been the preservations of edits that were supposed to be restored for DVD (something the BnB set was also guilty of). After hearing horror stories about how some shows have been treated (including some wrestling DVDs, just to keep it on topic), I thoroughly research reviews on new TV DVD releases before purchasing, which is apparently why my DVD collection is primarily cartoons

What'd he say? BTW, Vyce, it's lavender

Isn't this the fourth "Why do people like AD?" thread? I've stated before that I don't think the show is too great, but the seemingly frequent threads questioning it can even get on my nerves
-
Music rights issues (not just for these DVDs but for TV DVDs in general) are one reason why I haven't found the DVDization of TV to be as great as some make it out to be.

1995 was the only national title Osborne deserved. The sympathy title in '94 and the going-away-present title in '97 were jokes and deprived PSU of a shared title and Michigan of a full title.
-
PSU got screwed in '94. Fucking Osborne and his sympathy national title
