That reminds me about how underrated the Gibbs vs. Parcells rivalry was... from '82-'91 they went to six SBs and won five and always played each other tough.

I'd rather see the 'Skins in the playoffs than the Cowboys, so go Joe

Washington killing Dallas. I believe that if they win, they take Dallas' WC spot since they're tied but Washington swept.

There aren't When I was using it, I meant a team winning their division with a .500-or-worse record. Near the beginning of the year before their win streak it looked like Chicago might do that (when everyone was ragging on the North before Chicago and Minnesota went on their runs), but not anymore.

You guys are misusing the "Padres" analogy

Just because teams know how doesn't mean they'll be able to. It's not like they're the 2001 Bears who just fall ass-backwards into 13 wins. They're by all accounts, a really good team. It was just a bad day. Of course, what the hell do I even know about football. It doesn't bode well for Indy that the last pair 1-loss teams have lost the conference title game at home (Minnesota in '98 and Pittsburgh last year)

I'm calling it now: Colts will not win the SB. It might seem a little extreme to say so after just one loss, but with the aura of invincibility of both the team and (more importantly) the dome gone, they've got a lot more to overcome. A big excuse used for their playoff losses this decade has been that they've always been on the road but that this year teams will have to beat them at home, and now SD's shown everyone how that can be done.
-
Who'd have thought Rottenheimer would be the one with the right gameplan to beat Indy. At home, no less.
-
Looks like nearly everyone's predictions about "Indy will play just good enough to get HFA and then taper off" will come true

Nah, just funning the fact that combined the two states have made two very interesting stories here. Kansas with the whole 13 yr old marriage fiasco and now Missouri with this. And the common link, Kansas City. I got bored. Don't forget our gung-ho spirit regarding intelligent design!

CronoT would have had a shitfit by now -
New England was underloved in the '03 season too. For the early part of the season, Kansas City was getting most of the love, then when they fell back to earth it was all about the Peyton vs. McNair battle. At school I remember debating several times during the regular season about how much better the Pats were than the Colts, Chiefs or Titans, and the postseason proved that.

The host segment following that short was classic Mike: "*pulling the rubber band* If you leave me on the Satellite of Love too long, I could SNAP! *lets it fly*" *cut to scared Dr. F and Frank* Dr. F: "Where'd it go?!" Frank: "He's a sorcerer!" -
