It's about time someone drew :The Line:

really, given the record and point differential, this actually is the second worst team ever to make a SB I'm not discounting them for that though
-
As said in the SB thread, the 1979 Rams are far and away the worst team to make a SB
-
Incidentally, those two teams had very well played Super Bowls, with the '88 49ers having that memorable game-ending drive, and the '79 Rams keeping the 3-time SB champion Steelers on the ropes before finally succumbing in the 4th quarter, so this game could be more competitive than people think
-
Shit, I forgot NY was 10-6, I kept thinking they were 11-5 for some reason This makes them only the third team with 6+ losses to make the SB (joining the '79 Rams and '88 49ers)
-
It'll definitely be a close game. The Pats tradition of failing to cover the spread will continue, especially if it stays in double digits
-
See... there's something to be happy about! The 87 Vikings were also a Darrin Nelson dropped pass away from potentially beating the eventual champion Skins and delaying black quarterback-ness in the SB for another 12 years
-
Best team not to make the Super Bowl Another one is the 1987 49ers who went 13-2 and lost to the WC Vikings in their only postseason game
-
That Vikings team was much better than this Packers team. They still have to live with the fact that they were the best team never to make the Super Bowl. If you're talking strictly records, there's also the 2004 Steelers, though at least they lost to the eventual champion dynastic Pats instead of a fuckin one-year wonder Falcons team
-
This marks the second time in three years (and only the third time ever) that a team has won three road games to reach the SB
-
I consider them one of those rock/metal bands that happened to hit big at the time of hair-metal and so they're lumped in with hair-metal despite not being hair metal themselves (major stylistic differences) Skid Row is another big example of this
