Something you haven't been getting lately OH~!

Ding ding ding That's one of the reasons I moved from conservativism to total libertarianism. The claim the conservatives want small government is bullshit. They want a big controlling government like liberals do, just for different reasons.

The OAO Mystery Science Theater 3000 Thread
Slayer replied to DMann2003's topic in Television & Film
Around the time Beavis and Butthead caught in mid '93, my brother told me about a similar show (since BnB made fun of the music videos) on Comedy Central with this guy and a couple robots making fun of bad movies. He thought I would really like it. The only problem was Wichita's cable company did not have Comedy Central at the time (he was watching them at college in St Louis) and did not get it until May '95. The first episode I saw was The Indestructable Man, which is fairly unremarkable to me in the big picture of MST now. The second episode I saw, which sealed the deal for me, was First Spaceship on Venus. -
Unfortunately I was without computer access yesterday, so I could not voice my disappointment on the Vikings once again losing to Chicago in Soldier Field... thankfully the Packers destruction (by a team that the Vikings at least fought close) by the Eagles lifted my spirits again Looks like the Black'n'Blue division will come down to the XMas Eve game

I was away from the computer all day yesterday, so I could not voice my total frustration when I heard that the BCS picked UT over Cal and once again failed to produce a Big 10/Pac 10 Rose Bowl matchup when the possibility was clearly there... Well, being a big Michigan fan and hater of UT, that tells you where my allegiance in this game is

Score the most points. Together? Also, in case anyone forgot the game was going on today, Navy killed Army 42-13

Barring a fumble on the kneel, VTech wins the ACC and goes to the BCS ...and now it's official

Watching the one game that is on right now, I wish Pitt would go back to just having "Pitt" on the side of their helmet... that "panther" is ugly and for the most part looks more like a dog than a panther

It finally hit me this morning, tuning into ESPN and CBS and seeing college basketball, that the college football season is almost over... Dammit

The late pass-interference flag in the Ohio State-Miami title game from two years ago
-
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. I don't understand why that one never comes up in the "worst calls of college football history" list (like Colorado's Fifth down or Ohio State's wait-wait-wait-FLAG)

Yes, and I don't need to be reminded again. First there was the questionable TD at the end of the game, and second was how KSU, after losing but still finishing with an 11-1, got juked all the way down to the f'king Alamo Bowl against unranked Purdue. OU and Nebraska can lose the conference but play in the national title game, but KSU couldn't even get a New Years bowl, much less a BCS bowl. Anyways, has anyone pointed out the irony in the ACC title being decided between two teams that weren't even in the conference last year?

In '00, Notre Dame went to the Fiesta Bowl while ranked #11 in the BCS poll (9-2 record) -
I do, and I remember liking it, except when they'd find some way to show "Rush Rush" every hour. I believe it was for most of early-mid '91 that they did that, right up until you-know-who ("smells like demographic shift") changed everything about MTV

There's more to the American society than 15 year old teeny boppers That's one of the things I miss about MTV. It used to have a little something for everyone. The metalheads, the pop kids, the dance folk and the rap lovers all got their time slots. One of my friends put it best when he said "The music used to control MTV, now MTV controls the music"

While I'm glad that she called out MTV for their preference of urban music (and white pop, to be fair), her music isn't any better than the rest of the shit on that network

I've watched maybe an hour of rugby total in my lifetime, but the jingoist in me is mildly upset we didn't win
