That's some fine work there

Well, here's to hoping whoever wins the NL beats the tar out of the Yanks in the WS and prevents them from getting #27

Jebus It only took 4 days for it to go from "The Year the Sox Finally Get Over NY" to "Stick a Fork in Them"

One of my ex's was horrible at telling jokes. Her voice would be all wrong for it and she'd accentuate the wrong words and blow the whole joke.

Do you play the Evo theme and pose when you make a sale?
-
In the last couple weeks he's been drained from wanking over the Yankees and posing to a midi-ized version of Evolution's theme... ...but that should change after October... ...maybe... ...not

I was so into the baseball game that I forgot about college football on other stations... Let the "Virginia = overrated" talk begin

A&M is a friggin spoiler school... not good enough to be at the top, but good enough to put a hurt on the top teams season's

The main comparison I thought of was (I know this is basketball but bear with me) Tubby Smith, who won the Final Four in his first year with Pitino's players (and has pretty much ridden that ever since, I should note) but has fallen into the "good but not quite good enough" category

Possibly premature judgement, but... Will Jim Tressel be one of those coaches who was able to win a championship with his previous coaches players, only to not do so well when his own recruiting classes start coming in (there should be a name for this)?

Another Beltran homer Now everyone in MLB is finding out what KC knew for years

One inning away from this possibly being a series now

You failed to mention that the only reason to watch a scaffold match --- dudes falling --- was scrapped on behalf of an uber-lame "Capture the flag" match. I forgot I can't even watch a scaffold match for that reason either Most of the matches were, I just didn't feel like doing a match-by-match review

Did I wake up and it's the 1890's again? ...so, you think William Jennings Bryan will get it done?
-
So close... File this year under "rebuilding" I'm not worried though, KSU went .500 in '01 and came back to win 11 the next year, so we do rebound well at least

Well, HTQ got his post in front of mine, but except for my error in who Pillman lost to, my post is better

The Yellow Dog angle was along the same lines of the Midnight Rider/Blue Blazer '99 angle Brian Pillman lost a "Loser Leaves WCW" match to Arn Anderson in June '91 and not long after a wrestler in yellow spandex suit and mask (a la Conquistadors) who happened to be the same size/wrestling-style of Pillman showed up, thus kicking off the "everyone tries to unmask him to prove it's Pillman" bit, inlcuding the expected fakeouts when a not-so-similar sized wrestler (usually Tom Zenk, IIRC) would wrestle and then Pillman would come out and distract the other wrestler so the Dog could win It was dropped by the end of the summer and good ol' Brian Pillman went back to wrestling as himself

I have to cover this one, given that it was so bad it even made 11 y/o mark Slayer very unhappy Results: Why? 1) Before the PPV even started, there was already an air of bad blood from the fans and wrestlers over Flair's departure, hence the term "Flair Protest Show." To overcome this would require a miracle, and WCW certainly was unwilling to oblige 2) The curtain jerk match, usually a good match used to fire up the crowd, is a scaffold match, which IMO is the worst "serious" gimmick match ever. Most of the time the wrestlers are walking on eggshells trying to not fall off, much less muster any sort of offense. This was no exception, hence WCW took a mostly dead crowd and turned it into a dead crowd where half the people were already home halfway through the PPV. 3) The furthering of the Yellow Dog angle 4) The World Title Match, namely a) Suddenly and inexplicably pushing Windham as a world title contender after months of being Arn Anderson's tag team lackey, and b) Suddenly and inexplicably turning Luger heel after years of being one of the top two faces in WCW One good thing that did come out of this at least was the return of Harley Race, even though that wasn't really explained either, but he played the role of Luger's manager very well, and would go on to shine even more as Vader's manager. 5) The World Title Match, 95% of the time the final match on any PPV, was not the end here, being followed by a horrible tag match used to close-out a feud between two non-wrestlers THAT is the formula for one of the worst PPVs ever

Well, there goes lunch...

KSU must still be pissed about losing to KU last week And I second Miami... it seems like in the whole USC/OU media frenzy, they've been greatly overlooked EDIT: While typing this up, OU takes back the lead 24-21
