Thank you Captain Semantics I know Schaefer and IE are essentially one in the same
-
Bump Finally got the 2-disc version the other day (I've been busy, what can I say) and it took a bit to grow on me, but this has grown into one of my top CDs ever, seeing constant play in my car and on my comp, thus showing IMO that IE (and Schaefer himself) still has it The irony of it for me though is that while it's largely supposed to be a US history themed CD, my favorite songs are the ones about European history, i.e. "Red Baron" "Waterloo" and "Attila" (sounds like it could have been on Horrow Show, which I think would be attributed to the fact that it's a Barlow penned song, and it even sounds like he did guest vocals (the "growly" parts)) I also have to chuckle at the fact that the SSB appears twice on the CD (the actual song and then again at the beginning of "Devil to Pay")

I'm guessing reunification is out of the question then

Apparently someone in the booking room had been reading "The Return of Superman" comics at the time

EDIT by Dames: You two, I'm serious, shut up...and get off the shed too. (Actually edited by The Dames)

Andrew's list and mine seem to diverge on all but the most widely acknowledged "best" episodes (Manos, Godzilla vs. Megalon, Cave Dwellers, Zombie Nightmare, etc.) I won't argue any of his contentions save for one, namely that I feel Laserblast was the strongest episode from season 7 (the whole "going out with bang" concept, I believe). I'd say Night of the Blood Beast was the relative weakest, but it was still pretty good As for Gorgo, I'd probably want to see it first (though that would be difficult now, obviously) to ensure it's an episode I want on tape... back when I was a teen I was big on being a completist, thus saving even the episodes I really didn't like (see: Girl in Lover's Lane), but now I'm not really looking to round out my collection, specially when several episodes from season 10 sucked IMO

EDIT by Goodear: You all suck

If you could, like on AIM, block people's posts
Slayer replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in No Holds Barred
Funny thing is, if you'd been able to block Dama's posts, this thread wouldn't have gotten off topic into a "Dama vs. the world" thread Oh the irony -
I'm in a bit of a rush now, but I'll read your list later Andrew The Paper Chase guy refers to Robert Ginty, who was the lead character in the Italian Mad Max ripoff Warrior of the Lost World featured in episode 501. The Paper Chase remark refers to his one season on the show "The Paper Chase" (based off movie of same name). Why they chose to focus in on this fact is beyond me. Ginty would best be known for his role as Lt. Wiley on "Black Sheep Squadron"

Back to the Aussies, re: Martin Bryant. I'm surprised none of you had ever heard of any type of conspiracy theories regarding this... maybe that's just an American thing, I dunno. Here are the things I've heard, bearing in mind that 1) I'm recalling this from memory and 2) I don't lend credence to these, but they may be something to think about 1. Some eyewitness reports had the man being very large and heavy set, a far cry from the rather lanky Bryant (granted, you may not remember much about a guy if you're running the hell away from him) 2. The gun was an Armalite (IIRC), a rather high-end weapon for some mildly-retarded Tasmanian to have acquired 3. When police found the gun, it had been found that the backchamber clogged (or something like that, I don't know the specs and hopefully someone with more knowledge can fill in) which would have resulted in an explosion back onto the shooter, which at best would have left severe scarring on the shooter's arm or at worst totally obliterated it. When Bryant was arrested, no such injuries were found. 4. The pinpoint accuracy of the shootings would put the shooter in the top half of the top 1% of shooters in the world, meaning that either Bryant was extremely lucky (as the original article of this thread demonstrates, firing shots wildly will not result in a high accuracy rate, much less for the chance of a fatal shot) or he had been training with the Aussie special forces (highly unlikely) 5. Not long prior to the incident, the Tasmanian government had ordered a special cadaver carrying van (capable of carrying 20-30 bodies), a rather strange acquisition for a sparsely populated island that may experience at worse 2-3 people dying in the same place around the same time As for the overall conspiracy of "why?", the only possible one I've heard of is that the Aussie government needed an impetus to foster public support for stricter gun control, which even I (a gun supporter) find silly and preposterous

While I generally wouldn't have a problem trying to spread the goodness of MST, I'm a busy man this semester and free time is a bit limited, but I'll see what I can do As for my own collection, I'd like to get Incredible Melting Man to replace my copy that my dad fucked up.

Amazing that Mick doesn't look too different then from now What I find especially strange though it his sporting a goatee in '86 (pretty rare for the time)
