And speaking of which, I can't wait to see that coaching rivalry revived, though it'll feel quite different with Parcells leading the Cowboys instead of the Giants this time around
-
Also: Living right next to Missouri, and knowing many fans there, this, combined with the infamous kick-ball against Nebraska in '97 (itself a controversy) has lead Missouri to believe it has a small curse of its own

I wasn't alive to see it, but the lore of the '75 NFC title game "Hail Mary" with the offensive pass interference non-call sticks out in my head Note too that some of the worst incidences in the NFL over the last five years came at the hands of Phil Luckett (Bad coin toss, Jets' TD against Seattle, tripping Joe Horn) Bad Calls I Remember Seeing Live (that are not on this list): - Shaun King's pass to Bert Emmanuel for a crucial 1st down near the end of the '99 NFC title game ruled incomplete, in spite of the fact that he caught the ball in mid-air. Conspiracy theorists believe this was to make it easier to get the story-of-the-year Rams into the SB. - The Jordan bump on Byron Russell before hitting the final shot against Utah in '98 - Roy Jones Jr. getting screwed out of the gold medal in '88 against some random Korean boxer who he totally outboxed

CWM: It puts the lotion on its skin! Gnomes: Please sir, we just want to get back to standing out in the garden CWM: IT PUTS THE LOTION ON ITS SKIN OR IT GETS THE HOSE AGAIN! Aren't you supposed to be in the hospital.... again? While it is nice to see you around still, at the same time I'd hate to think you're not getting help that you could use

Well I sure foresee a long and healthy future for this company Don't worry about me little miss. This has been in the plans for several years now. To say the least, I'll only make a little less the first couple of years. After that it'll be all good. You hear that noise? It's the sound of every word in this thread flying right over your head Good work

Go back. Seconded

I'm all for abandonment of the post-count concept as a whole

Not as bad as some people here would have lead me to believe (or even as much as my own preconceptions would expect) But I don't plan spending $5 and 90 minutes on it either
-
He also brings no table into that house

This is a double-edged sword of excitement for me While I am a Vikes fan, Gibbs was my favorite coach while growing up because of his plug'n'play QB system and just plain efficient coaching ability On the other side, I'd hate to see him pull a legacy crusher, a la Seifert with the Panthers

I never did find out what happened with those awards Then again, I didn't get one, so I care not... unless my invitation got lost in the server somewhere
-
No we haven't, but I do know you're fairly popular here. Thanks for the kind words

Name changes, post counts in HD and new posters have all been outlawed! No, really. Dammit, looks like my future attempts to register new gimmicks, then change those said gimmicks around and post whore the fuck out of HD will all be for naught now... +1-1

Hey, I remember you... you're that guy with Frederick Douglass in his sig And that's the only thing I remember, since you don't contribute anything else with what you post Next

Episodes centering on Hank and/or the fellas = good Episodes centering on Bobbie = decent, for the most part Episodes centering on how Peggy Hill is a strong woman who doesn't take shit from anyone = bleh

Warning: This is coming from a guy for whom Pete Rose was the world when it came to baseball in the 80's (sadly I wasn't alive to see him at his true peak in the 70's), hence the opinions might be a bit jaded I want to see him go into the Hall of Fame, plain and simple, though I do not want to see him return to managing, not so much for the gambling thing, but because he wasn't that great a manager in the first place As for the whole "integrity" argument, given how the "integrity" of several aspects of society (especially in sports) have gone out the window, I personally stopped caring a fair while ago

Since it got no-sold in the metal poll thread (though it was off topic, I admit), and I want some feedback, by gawd, here we go again What do you all think of the existence of the IMC (like the IWC)? I've been on the 'net for five years and I've definitely seem some rampant, restated opinions by internet metal fans that run along the same lines as the IWC... Consider the following analogies (not all perfect, mind you) IWC -> IMC equivalent Hosses -> Nu-metal (both hated by respective communities) Triple H -> Fred Durst (both extremely hated by respective communities) Technical wrestlers -> Power metal (choice groups for respective communities, more accessible to relative mainstream) Puroresu -> Death/Black metal (more of a niche audience, not quite as visible) Benoit -> Jon Schafer? (not sure on this one, namely as to who the most beloved sub-mainstream metal man would be) I may add some more as we go on. Feel free to comment or add your own

I'd like some contributions for your choices of Albums of the Year, so I can look into the ones I haven't yet purchased. Here're a few of my choices so far: Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armageddon Children of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll Nevermore - Enemies of Reality Iron Maiden - Dance of Death Mostly big name groups, I know, but I haven't had much of a chance this year to look into more obscure bands/possible up-and-comers...

It's certainly been fun and all today (and the last couple of weeks), but it's time for me to head off to prepare and then leave for my two week Xmas+NewYears vacation While the places I'm going to will have the internet, I'm going to try and stay off of it, because I need a break from it, and it from me. To make things interesting, since this will be the first thread I check when I get back (I'm not going to wade through 100 pages of irrelevant material), just go ahead and dump random shit in here. I'd like to see a possible classic thread when I come back. ...okay, I lied, as I'll probably be around for the next hour kicking things off, but after tomorrow, no more me for two weeks
-
Last check before I leave Kotzen: Too bad your package got lost in the mail, hehe MattYoung: Thanks much, though that reminds me, I should remove my av+sig while I'm gone to keep my bandwidth down. I'll probably have a new one after I come back Jimbo: Thanks guy I don't know Oh yeah, can't believe I forgot to do this last night Go Vikings, Wolverines and Wildcats And I'm off
-
Piss: Thanks, sure will CoreyLaz: Rest assured I'm bringing along a nice metal collection (along with some other fun music) to keep me company on the road.
