Should this end as it is, the Red Sox would have 9 consecutive wins over the Angels, going back to the last three games of the 86 ALCS, which made me try and think of other long postseason streaks of one team over another. Off the top of my head I thought of the Yankees winning 9 straight against the Rangers in the late 90s, and the A's winning 10 straight over Boston (88 and 90 ALCS sweeps, first two of 03 DS). I gave a cursory glance at MLB's postseason history and nothing else really stood out to me, but maybe our own statbot knows of some others

The expansion Bucs lost their first 26 games, so they wouldn't be the first team to go winless since the merge. Looking back I see my wording was a bit off... I meant the Dolphins being in possession of both an undefeated and winless season. Plus if they were winless they'd be the first team to go 0-16 (the Bucs were 0-14 in their first year)

Let's be fair here. It's because it was the White Sox doing the sweeping. That whole WS matchup put Cubs fans between Scylla and Charybdis Hell, despite my hatred of the Astros I couldn't even get behind the White Sox and their awe-inspiring lineup of Crede/Podsednik/Iguchi/Eyechart/etc

don't look now, but Arizona has a winning record and given the shittiness of their division, who knows what could happen

We already discussed this last week

I wouldn't mind seeing the Dolphins go 0-16, just for the complete irony of being both the only undefeated and winless team in NFL history At the very least it would hopefully silence those remaining members of the '72 team who still publicly celebrate every time the final undefeated team loses

I believe the first would lead to the opposite of the second

He has a lot of catching up to do

I wouldn't have them ranked either. They're 6-0 but have two wins over I-AA teams and haven't beaten anyone good. I'll rank them if they go unbeaten, because then they'll have gone unbeaten and beaten both Boise and Washington, but I can't be impressed with a team that's essentially kicking babies as they crawl out of a burning orphanage. Thumbs up Good use of that English degree

You must go to ASU

At this point I only see two possibilities for the NLCS 1. Both teams keep up their high level of play and we get an incredibly competitive 7 game series, or 2. One of the teams follows the path of the 06 Tigers/05 Astros and starts inexplicably making errors out the ass and the series is an unwatchable sweep

I know there are some Injun fans around here somewhere Forget about finding any fans from the two NL teams

You know who's gotta be feeling really good right now: Dodgers and Padres fans, especially after that double stinker from last year

I much prefer Frank's standup routine to Dane, but I'd rather watch a series of Dane's "quick turn to other camera" than another one of those Frank commercials

Shit, so much for total chaos

They really of to score some runs here

The Phillies of 9 outs left

At least USC fans can take cold comfort in UCLA ending Notre Dame's winless streak

I like his work in small doses on assorted radio shows. Hell, I even saw his act live and it was pretty good... but I can't see this concept working as a long term series

Come on, that was a month ago. Do you honestly think anyone still remembers that? Yeah, what has App State done for us lately?!

Between this and all the plagues in the MLB playoffs, it is clear the end times are here* *until the next time that the end times are upon us
