I left on my weekend trip right after making that post, so here's the late response Since I really don't pay attention to what happens outside of two teams, save for occasional glances at the standings and stat boards, I can't see things like "quality starts"... alls I know is I went and compared Beckett and Sabathia's stats, and they have a close ERA and WHIP and proportionally close K's and BB's for their respective IPs, so with those all being close the only other that jumped out at me was that "more wins in less starts/IP" stat... This isn't like 2002 where Barry Zito had 3 more wins than Pedro but Pedro blew him away in ERA, Ks and WHIP.

Do you live near Houston? Because Fox isn't allowed to show any games when a home team is playing on CBS. Say what? I've seen plenty of times when a FOX game is airing opposite the Chiefs Speaking of which, I went to Arrowhead today to watch the Vikings play the Chiefs. Vikings looked pretty good in the first half, shutting down Larry Johnson and letting Adrian run all around the perimeter, but something apparently happened in the second half that cause the Vikes to shut down and suddenly Huard was able to toss pass after pass up the middle... I don't know what that was though as I spent most of the third quarter waiting in a vending line (leftover from halfway through halftime) Also, dear deity who may or may not exist, please save us from a year of PACKERS WHOO and FARVAH ONE MORE RUN

Well, if all the other stats are equal except that one, why wouldn't you compare the two What's telling to me is looking at their stats and seeing they're (proportionally) equal, I see Beckett has more wins in fewer GS/IP Beckett - 20W 29GS 194.2IP Sabathia - 18W 32GS 216IP That's why I would give the edge to Beckett over CC

The undeniable top 2 are Brady and Manning. Palmer seems to be the consensus #3, and while he's put up some great numbers in the last three years, I'd put McNabb ahead of him on the strength of his playoff runs earlier this decade (injury ridden seasons after the SB year not withstanding). Brees would round out the top 5.
