Comments which don't warrant a thread.

Isn't that the opposite of irony? "We shouldn't have held that rape victim benefit lottery in a state full of rapists..."
  5. If only I was another thirty-something suburban white guy co-opting hip hop culture...
  6. Me - I was hoping to at least make it to the Final Four where I would have the honor of being demolished by Kinetic, but the "no repeats" were going to catch up to me eventually. That I've made as far as I did (further than the previous champ, take that Milk!), in a year where I was gone for weeks at a time, is a testament to... something [/eloquence failure]. This also shows how far Venky's come along since I demolished him en route to my hoisting of the crystal Dames trophy three years ago, when I only knew him as a former site writer who only posted sporadically at that point. Good work, Venk. Now on to three tough as hell brackets (and it won't get easier from here). I like all of these guys (oh, and Venk), so now I'm actually judging on content and intangibles: Kinetic - Edwin is a great poster, but he's admitted he doesn't care about this, and Kinetic called his shot with 2008's "Pursuit :)f Perfection"... now let's just hope that 2009 doesn't turn into "Pursuit :(f Despair" Agent - Koh-ab is good with insights and cracks, and can deliver them in a variety of styles, be it drunk, sober, gangsta-style, high-brow, etc... but Agent is one of the other guys carrying the TSM metal thread with me, and I like his work in the sports folder VX - Long have I enjoyed Leo's contributions to the sports folder, as well as his general contributions around the board. Tim is fine, he's also in competition with me for TSM's "One Line King" (coming this spring?), so I'm advancing Leo's cause (whatever that is) here instead

Considering the Giants completely missed the playoffs the previous three times they went to the Super Bowl, this is a step up

In the last three years we've had a 5-seed and 6-seed win it all An all 6-seed Super Bowl is just that carried to its logical extreme

Posting things here and there is fine, but not a constant stream of "yay my team scored" and "boo the other team scored"

    NFL PLAYOFFS

NFL playoff chats tend not to happen as much as CFB or MLB chats since it's four games in two days with 7-8 hours per day. A couple times I remember doing chats for the games I figured would draw the most people (notable was the Colts-Steelers game in '05), and the only game this weekend I could see pulling that weight is Giants-Eagles
  19. Venk - Starting right away with a tough one. Inc's been a long-time favorite of mine, but he probably doesn't care about this tourney, and Venk intrigues me with the prospect of a rematch from a couple years ago. Me - The easiest vote this round! Cheech is good in the sports folder, but I'm still me, and I want to see how far I can take this until I get buried with anti-repeat votes, much like Kinetic buries his posts with words. Kinetic - CanuckChris is generally good for a combo of humor and insight, but Kinetic has been strong all year long. Of course, then I realize I'm wavering back and forth between voting for "ability" and voting for guys I like and my integrity drops like Brody's erections. Edwin - Mellow has been coming along fairly well this year, although I'll never understand his (and the internets') fascination with Zombie Turtle kid, but Edwin is another consistently strong poster in the same vein as Kinetic. If they meet in the next round, that's a tough call. Smues - Koh-ab is another good friend and poster alike, but since he seems to have this one in the bag and Smues has been good in voting for me, so here's a quid pro quo Agent - Fellow metalhead and Zappa-phile wins this one Treb - Though he's not as awesome as me VX - Oh man, real tough one here... which faux Mexican do I pick? I had to give the edge to Leo since he saw fit to come ask for my help with his econ homework

Who'd have thought that Urban Meyer would be the first coach to hoist the crystal football twice... and he got them from beating both Stoops and Sweater Stoops, which is funny in its own way
