deleterious Guy's got a point, Czech. That's really the only point he has though If Czech didn't go all pedantic there, all Roho would have was original go-nowhere post of "Rod's a classy guy, and... uhhh... the end"

    NFL Week 16

I'm torn on tonight's game... Giants getting HFA means throwing out the third stringers next week and helping Minnesota, but I really hate Giants and didn't want them to get HFA Due to the recording quality I can't understand either question asked at that press conference at the beginning

Chicago would also need Minnesota to lose to NY next week as well, because if Chicago and Minnesota tie I believe the Vikings have the tie-breaker

    NFL Week 16

Doubtful. In fact, most Packer fans are incredibly worried about next week's game against Detroit, since the Lions will be fired up for something, and the Packers haven't shown any sort of motivation for anything since the Carolina game. Although a funny thing would be that if the Packers were to win out the rest of the way, they would still have the best divisional record in the NFC North. Just can't beat anyone who is outside of the division, it seems (unless it's the Seahawks or Colts). I'm not sure which way to go on next weeks game. 0-16 is something, although as I noted before, the perfect storm for that was last year with Miami and with the Lions it's more sad than anything, and even if the Lions lose out I'm still not convinced they're the worst team ever (similar to the whole '72 Dolphins vs '85 Bears debate)... but it would be the ultimate slap to the face of the green and gold if they lose to the Lions next week, especially given the Lions haven't won at Lambeau since before the Fun Loving Gunslinger ever came to town

    NFL Week 16

As I said last week, I wasn't going to be surprised if Atlanta came out as the better team, but I thought it was going to be because of Matt Ryan passing all over them, and instead it was because Peterson decided to do his best impression of Tiki Barber. Really, that makes it all the more frustrating, especially given how close they came near the end Now I have to root for the PACKERS tomorrow... I can feel the vomit in the back of my throat on that one

What're your thoughts on Devin Townsend and SYL? For the most part I don't feel like I excluded anything from my above list, although despite already having Townsend on there twice, I still wanted to work him in a third time for Ziltoid (i.e. Does Humor Belong in Metal?)

Last year on another board, I compiled my "Top Ten Personal Metal Albums of the Decade (so far)" list... and then that board later erased my post, so I had to go back and figure that out again. With only one year left in the decade, this list is fairly well set, unless something mindblowing comes out next year, or I find some amazing hidden gem that I had missed before. 1. Paradise Lost - Paradise Lost 2. Amorphis - Silent Waters 3. Therion - Lemuria/Sirius B 4. Circle II Circle - Burden of Truth 5. Opeth - Blackwater Park 6. Nevermore - This Godless Endeavor 7. Dark Tranquility - Damage Done 8. My Dying Bride - The Dreadful Hours 9. Dream Theater - Train of Thought 10. Iron Maiden - Dance of Death Honorable Mention (ie 11-15, sans ordering): Amon Amarth - With Oden on Our Side Devin Townsend - Terria Evergrey - In Search of Truth Onward - Evermoving SYL - Alien

    TSM 2008 Year-End Awards: Music

2008 in Metal The major event for 2008 for me, as noted by my top two albums for the year, was the return of Matt Barlow to the world of metal, first for Pyramaze and then reuniting with Jon Schafer. While I would like to have seen more of what he could have done with Pyramaze, it's very clear that his return has helped bolster Iced Earth back to its former self. While TCOM was no less different from Framing Armageddon (which I listed last year as a major disappointment), either in composition or in length, Barlow IMO helped boost TCOM to a level well beyond FA (that or I just subconsciously dislike Tim Owens) Top Ten (now with numbers!) 1. Pyramaze - Immortal 2. Iced Earth - The Crucible of Man 3. Draconian - Turning Season Within 4. Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God 5. Opeth - Watershed 6. Enslaved - Vertebrae 7. Moonspell - Night Eternal 8. Zimmers Hole - While You Were Shouting... 9. Origin - Antithesis 10. Testament - The Formation of Damnation Surprise OTY Metallica released a new album... and it was actually good! Not good enough to make my top 10, but good enough to keep them out of Disappointment OTY We in the metal thread have already gnashed our teeth over this one, but it deserves mention yet again. Cryptopsy's The Unspoken King (mistakenly referred to as The King Beneath earlier, way to do your homework GF!), as Agent said upon first hearing it, is the Cold Lake of this metal generation, and nothing more need be said than that... although extra piles of shame should be heaped upon them for their mature response to criticism of the album, which consisted of a middle finger custom track posted on their Myspace page that fell back upon the very tired "Internet complainers are losers living in their parents' basement" bit. Dishonorable mention also goes to Judas Priest for their overbloated mess that was Nostradamus. Great idea, awful execution, resulting in a double album padded with way too many songs. Given the quality of most of the songs though, I'm not sure condensing it into a single CD would have made it any better. As it stands right now, Rob Halford's two solo albums from earlier this decade still blow away the two that JP's put out since his return.

    Serial Killers

Though, knowing what we do about bob, I don't see him as a serial type. He might snap and kill some celeb who dares to snub him, but he's not racking up a body count

Sorry to let you guys down A good number of serial killers didn't get started until their thirties or later... there's still plenty of time!
