There really is no panic at all, I mean, when you look at Philly attendance, there are a lot of reasons this happened: 1) Ignoring the market for 5 months. When you don't have TV, this doesn't work. 2) Running against a stacked WWE card with a "weak" ROH card with relatively few known names 3) Phillies in town 4) Fliers in Game 7 of their playoff series 5) People leaving when they saw the tent Add all this together, and you got an attendance about 100-150 or so less than their last pure ROH Philly show in September. They would run philly more, but CZW and 3PW keep them out of the arena. I think they will start running Philly more soon though somewhere else, they should be fine. Last night, they HAD to establish this group as a force, and it was a 100% success. Fans were wild for them by the end, and all 4 guys became stars in one night. The other goal was setting up the Punk/Steamboat tag match probably at 7/17, the bell angle had about half the audience that got it marking out. There are so many ways they can go with this group, it opens up so many match possibilities, I can't wait to see where it goes from here, especially with the Pitbulls as regulars after Romero gets back from Japan.

Thank god you're not booking. Gen Next forming, and the Punk-Steamboat angle were by far the most over things on the show, got massive pops, and great reactions. Just give them time to build this faction up and see where it goes. Last night, all of Gen Next became stars with an amazing match. Plenty of people buy IWA:MS tapes. Just because you don't means nothing. It would be like putting Bryan Danielson in a 6-sided ring match with a bunch of luchadores and wondering why it didn't turn out so great. Some wrestlers excell at wrestling real matches rather than silly spotfests, and while I don't think Petey is the greatest out there or anything, his match pedigree in 2004 has been very strong. The matches are all available at smartmarkvideo.com, they're very easy to get. He didn't "alledgedly" have them, just ask all the people that have seen them.

Why is it only work in spotfest-shows used just to get internet-fan buys that count? What makes TNA count while his actual singles matches where he has time to wrestle like a real wrestler don't? Not every worker excells at turning their brain off to work mindless spotfests, put him in there with Daniels for 15 minutes and you'll get gold.

This is really unfair, he's definitely in the top 20% of Indy workers in the country, and has worked multiple matches for IWA-MS this year that I'd call better than anything TNA has put on all year.

I've just seen too many other brawls in the last year that get across the story of the hate the 2 men have for each other more than this one did. To me, watching it, it seemed like a desperate attempt to recreate Royal Rumble 2000 magic.

No Mercy vs. John Cena was a total carry. It wasn't anything more than **1/2, but that's by far the best Cena has done in WWE.

Which was 5/5 again? The one with the scramble and Raven/Styles? Raven-Styles was kind of embarrasing to watch since Raven was pretending to know how to wrestle instead of brawl, and Styles could not save a match where Raven had 80% of the offense. The scramble was no better than any indy spotfest, so I don't get the love. This is probably the wrong forum anyway.

It has been so long since a Smackdown! taping has looked good. Smackdown! is approaching TNA levels of bad here.

Stop trolling with stupid statements. The 2/3 falls match was deeper than any story ever told in a WWE ring, barring MAYBE Austin vs. Rock from WM X-7. The fact that you can only appreciate the matches on the level of a 7 year old doesn't mean that's the only story they tell. The Paul London story is the story of an underdog babyface. He worked his way up, always coming so close to the title, and never quite winning it. However, he shows clear signs of learning in his matches throughout, sells better than anyone in North America, and always incorporates subtle stories into matches. On the flip side, he showed in a brilliant carryjob in June 2003 that he's a great heel worker too. Paul London's ROH 2003 body of work smokes anyone's on the WWE roster, and he was only there for 7 months.

No way, neither are close to the level London was at by the middle of 2003. Whether it was carrying AJ Styles to the match of his lifetime, having tremendous matches every show, or having the best worldwide match in years with American Dragon, neither of these guys are close to what London was doing in mid 2003. The match Jericho and Christian had at mania is trash compared to London's 2003 body of work.

Booker again? RVD? Do they rush Angle back for Summerslam? If *I* were booking, I'd build to Eddy/Taker, but god knows that ain't happening.

Army comes before ROH) National Guard Armory 7:30pm belltime The Card: Round Robin Challenge 3: Whitmer/Maff, Punk/Cabana, Briscoes. Tag titles will be on the line in every match the champs are in. Ricky Steamboat will oversee this as the special guest referee. Non-Title Grudge match: Joe vs. Whoever turned out the lights in MN (Mystery payoff...probably) Homicide vs. Spanky Matt Stryker vs. Alex Shelley 6-way Mayhem: Acid vs. Strong vs. Walters vs. Masada vs. Izzy vs. Hydro The Carnage Crew and RCE will also be in the house. My thoughts: I think this card is going to be really strong. Cide will be brutal with Spanky, bringing across his new heel character. I hope the mystery is either real good, or I hope they delay it until 5/22, which I will be attending (ha!). Stryker-Shelley is the sleeper match of the night, as they showed a ton of potential at 1/10, and Shelley is RoH's next superstar. The 6-way will be the usual insanity, and the RRC should provide some good matches, since Briscoes-Saints was called MOTN in Chicago.

This is the best.

No way for Rey. Who the hell is going to buy Eddy as a sympathetic babyface against a heel Mysterio? Rey would just be a pesky little non-threat. It's going to be Angle, and I predict he wins the title, as he can then defend against Taker, Cena, RVD, and others while Eddy fights to win it back. Angle-Eddy will main event WM 21 for Smackdown!, theyve got nothing else.

Meltz thinks every main event is "great" in wwe, i wanna see it now though.

Sounds like what I expected. Blood, hot crowd, maybe some weapons, a table, anything to hide the actual wrestling.

Angle/Cena. Rey vs. Tajiri was just a mess, they went in a bunch of different directions, never really went anywhere with any of them, and had a dumb finish. Their Smackdown match to start 2004 was worlds better.

It sucked large. One solid match, 2 decent matches, and a boring-ass main event that amazingly got praise on this board.
