ECW drew pretty much just as well prior to TNN as they did after. They were selling out the ECW arena weekly years before it (1,350), and did some major PPVs before it too. Syndicated TV did it for ECW, not TNN. The only people watching ECW on TNN were clearly already fans. A mid-afternoon sunday show would be just fine.

Attendance in MN probably won't be that strong. The one they're hoping will be big is Chicago.

Really? Why don't you cite the last time he did for us? I can't remember the last Bradshaw match where I wasn't embarrased to be watching such bad wrestling. He's a bad brawler, he has no interesting offense, he doesn't know how to pace a match, and he hasn't sold for anyone in years. Oh yeah, and he's slow as hell too.

Nope. Eddy is not the Eddy he was a few years ago, he couldn't even carry Hunter to something good on Raw. He failed to carry The Big Show, and had a solid, but not great match with Kurt Angle. The best thing they can do is make Kurt a special ref to add all kinds of shenanigans. ** tops.

You know, this torch stuff about Punk is just so wierd. Everywhere he's gone before TNA he's become a locker room leader, well respected, and well-liked by all workers. He's never been known as a whiner at all, and all of a sudden the torch has found a source that doesn't like him, and he's cast as a whiner weekly.

PWG ''The Musical'' Comes To Town On April 17!
Michrome replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
Mixed feelings on this one. The 2 big singles matches should be good, but man is Hardcore Kid vs. Messiah going to everloving suck. -
It depends on the contract strength. The ECW ones had easy loopholes, don't know about the TNA ones.
-
1) They're all under contract. 2) They're all too small 3) The best ones like Styles work in a way that only a select few in the WWE could keep up.
-
Comedy GOLD. Oh wait, this is the main event feud?
-
I guess it depends on who you define as top guys. Raven makes 1,500 each Wednesday, Styles makes a lot less, even less than he does when he works RoH, as does Daniels. Abyss does not make 2,500 a week, nor does Killings. Who are these top guys you speak of? BG James?

You really come off as a prick, but I don't really like to make personal judgements based on internet forums. I see you troll the Total Nonstop forums too, so obviously you have fun bashing TNA. I rip TNA here more than anybody, but I think it would be nice if there was a #2. You, on the other hand, seem to not want a #2 promotion. Many of the very things you bash TNA for are prevalent in the WWE, which you defend to unreal levels over on that board. After some of your embarrasingly ignorant comments on puro and other things, why should we even take you seriously here?

1) Sunday night is a million times better than Friday night for obvious reasons. 2) Many fans don't check out TNA cause it costs money. Many ECW fans found the product through a great syndicated TV program that was free. 3) People will give it a chance. If the product is good, there are easily enough wrestling fans out there. The 1 cent PPV did roughly 100,000 buys. You don't think these same people and more would even check out TNA? Don't be silly.

Monday is the best slot. During commercials raw fans might flip over and catch something cool or a fun angle. Still, Sundays are the next best, which is good enough for me.
-
On Sunday Nights? Fox doesn't have sunday night sportsgames that will have them pre-empted all the time.

Raze the city.
-
It'll easily hit .2, breaking .5 will be hard at first though. They will be taping in Orlando, not the asylum...and hell, I can't think of a better timeslot than Sunday night...what the fuck else is on.
-
Not so sure about that. Meltzer says there are no plans to elevate him, and that he's going to remain behind Guerrero, Taker, and Cena as a babyface.
-
Bleh I hated that match. Whitmer has had a lot better. He has been damn good in a lot of 4-ways and tags, but if you want singles, he outperformed Homicide on 11/1.
-
RVD's contract expires in 3 months though, and no deal has been made. We'll see what happens.
-
Whitmer vs. Punk 4/11/03 IWAMS is a solid affair. I'm not really sure what to reccomend to you DtD, since you hated AXP vs. Havana Pitbulls, which I thought was easily the match of the night.

Smackdown house shows SHOULD be strong. It's really absurd given the junior talent level on them. Rey, Chavo, Tajiri, Knoble, Dragon, Yang, London, Nunzio....then you've got Haas, RVD, Booker, and Eddy up top..no reason to be having terrible house shows. I predict they panick and change plans on Bradshaw vs. Eddy.
-
I think it's just as widespread, if not more.
-
Wouldn't shock me if they did a BS finish 4/14 (double pin?) leading to a rematch being announced on the 4/21 show and happening on 4/28. They could then spend 4 or 5 weeks hyping the match before putting it on their first fox show.
-
You're right, I missed that, but the Sunday slot will cost a lot more than a Wednesday night slot.
-
You don't comprehend. These are the same 7,500 weekly, adding up to 30,000 a month. That means these same 7,500 will buy the monthly ppv, but they will need 22,500 more to hit the 30,000 buys a month number they're getting currently. The same 7,500 people are not going to buy the monthly show 4 times.
