As it was just shown, he was hiding in a small hole deep underground.

Guess that's personal taste, I found Xavier-London from FB 2002 far better than the streetfight.
-
Sorry, should have said "disappointing match." It wasn't bad.
-
He doesn't have **** matches a lot or anything, but his match with walters was supposedly quite good, and he has been having solid **-*** matches all year long without facing any of the big stars. His matches with London were a HELL of a lot better than Sabin's was on TNA. BTW, I agree with you that they are misusing him. Either commit to him or not, because there are plenty of other indy guys that could use that slot.
-
Sabin's matches in RoH have all been disappointing, they've given him numerous chances to make a big splash and earn a push, but he's yet to do so. He's faced Homicide and AJ, and neither match was good. Xavier is perfectly capable of having good matches, he had a great match with Daniels at 8/16.

I think Ki and Shane will be an awful styles clash, but Daniels vs. Sabin should be good and so should the tag. Sting vs. Jarrett no longer has any appeal to me.

Public Schools Cannot Discriminate....

Attributing the belief that all gays go to hell as the "christian view" is just as bad as saying that the "muslim view" is to blow up Jews and Christians. -
I actually think this will be the best in-ring RoH show ever, let's look at the matches. AJ Styles vs. Kaz Hayashi: I was one of the AJ haters at the beginning of 03, but man has he improved this year. If Kaz brings his "A" game, this is going to be freaking sweet. This has **** potential. Bryan Danielson vs. Jay Briscoe: Danielson, from all reports, is BETTER now, which I didn't think was possible. Jay has improved a lot, and judging from the reports of what Danielson got out of Kazarian at PWG, this will likely be Jay's best singles match ever. This has **** potential Turmeric Storm vs. Punk/Cabana: I'm a big fan of both teams, and if this gets solid time it could be quite good. Turmeric Storm is underrated. Daniels/Maff vs. Muta/Arashi: The heat for this will be scorching. I saw a Muto/Arashi match against Taka and Gigantes (RIP) that was freaking great, so there's no reason this shouldn't be a ton of fun. John Walters vs. Xavier: Look for violence and blood here, with ladders, chairs, and tables. They are trying to go the Paul London route to get Walters over. This could be a showstealer. Whitmer vs. Stryker: After watching 11 ("15") great minutes of Stryker-Whitmer on BFSE, all I could say was, these guys needed 15 more minutes. They will get the time they need for the finals, and this should be great. It has to be great, because they both need it to be great. **** potential Joe vs. Mark: This should be very solid, and better than Joe-Jay. Cide vs. Kojima: Don't know what to make of this. On one hand, it will have a ton of heat and probably an insane head-dropping finish, so it will be fun. I like Kojima, I don't really like Cide, but this has the potential to be real good. It looks like every match on the card, given good time, except for the Muta match, which should be fun in its own right, will be in the *** or better range.

CZW Cage of Death 5 this Saturday in Philly!

Looks eh to me. The 4-way should be a fun 4-way, but outside of that, I see nothing. Ruckus and Dutt....I guess it could be good, but I doubt it. Rave vs. Acid should be solid Tag Team ladder match will either be fun or a disaster. -

Things I learned from this thread: --The Christian view on homosexuality is akin to a neo-nazi speaking at diversity week. --All negative opinions should be censored because we wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Things like "diversity week" are almost always created by people that want to show off how tolerant they are. Do you think all of the superintendents that created things like Islam Appreciation Day after 9/11 did it because they felt it was the right thing to do? They did it so they could get on the news. -

Here's why that's a bad idea Syxx: With a great lineup, they can trick even me into buying. Usually however, after everytime I decide against it, the show gets bashed and I thank god I didn't get it. If the shows suck dick, advertising for the replay isn't going to do much good. -

Welll, Because 1) If it was an Air Raid Crash, it was a shitty one 2) Gabe called it a DVD -
Luckily I was able to finish a bunch of reviews I was about halfway through this week, since finals aren't until Saturday, which means studying starts Thursday. Click Here For The Review of Ring Of Honor: Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies Leave feedback please!

Review of RoH: Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies

I thought of doing that, but Black Tiger did that in his reviews and tons of people complained about it. Another problem with that method is that some matches only warrant a sentence. Then again, matches like Cide vs. Corino warrant a lot, and I gave my thoughts on that one. -

He should have struck down diversity week in the process. I love things like diversity week, where self-proclaimed tolerant people can congratulate each other on how tolerant they are. -
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla "Pimpin' In High Places"

Because Ryan actually has babyface heat, Kazarian has "I saw him on Wednesday a few times" heat. Kazarian-Pearce is *not* appealing matchwise, I think it would be godawful. -
Very good quality....dont have the lame sound vs. picture difference of a few seconds, and the dvds have nice bonus stuff on them. On the 2 DVDs that have commentary you can turn it off when you want to, a real nice feature

Wrestling by definition when you're talking about TNA and WWE is fake, so more than just the workrate part of it matters. Working a crowd is essential to being a good wrestler, it's a key skill. -

If I had to guess, I think they are going to give Ryan the duke here over Dragon and have him go after Frankie's title. -
Don't know who John Zandig is. Joey Ryan is a star in the making, all he needs is a better finish (a tiger driver or something would be perfect). I'm really looking forward to seeing it live this saturday.
-
Frankie is a solid worker, no doubt, but why put the belt on a guy who's known as an X-Division jobber? His match with Daniels was very, very good, pretty much all thanks to Daniels who controlled 13 of the 15 minutes or so. Daniels vs. Ryan would have been a great final, and a great way to make Ryan a star.

Also, NJ lost a lot of heat with live crowds when he completely whiffed kicks and looked like a total clutz. -

Err, in terms of workrate you're correct, but being able to engage a crowd like that is a skill that only very few people have. Charisma is part of being a good wrestler, as is being able to get the crowd into your matches. Most people on the indies today would kill to be able to sacrafice some of their workrate for Hogan's ability to draw people into his matches emotionally. He knew how to put matches together, which makes him a good worker, even if he wasn't athletically talented. The same thing goes for Goldberg in 98, not ANYONE could do that--see Wrath's failed attempt to get over in the exact same way. Goldberg had a special charisma about him, and still does. His workrate is nothing special, but he has certain facets down better than longtime veterans ever will. By the way, the hate for Ace Steel is dumb. He had a few bad nights and was saddled with crap. I've seen the guy do great stuff, and when he has time and a good opponent, he can *go*. -

Ouch, you think Ki is better on the mic than Shane? You must really hate Shane
