I can dig a Christian/Chris Harris feud. I think they'd work well together. But his beatdown segment with Abyss didn't have nearly the heat that it should have for what's supposed to be a top long-term program.

Tweener Angle wouldn't work for what they want to do at Bound for Glory.

TNA Impact Spoilers for the next two weeks 6/22/07
TNABaddboi replied to slimm44's topic in TNA Wrestling
I'm going to let the booking play itself out before I jump all over it. It's clear that Angle and Joe are headlining BFG, and at the very least, I'm glad they are not hotshotting it for July. After the ending of Slammiversary, I thought we'd get another 3 or 4 matches between them between now and October. Wacky tag partner champs who hate each other has been done to death, but I'm not convinced they'll win, because the stipulation says they'll get to pick a partner. Joe winning the X-title though seems short sighted, because now he's going to have to drop it on Impact again to nobody in particular, like he did last year. I'd love to see him put over Senshi though in a great match to kickstart rebuilding the X-D, but I'm holding my breath. Or stripped of it to start a Super X tournament. I can hope, can't I? Also, I have to say I'm glad they're not rushing Christian and Abyss. It looks like that'll be the 2nd match from the top at BFG, but Abyss needs to have to go through the rest of the Christian Coalition before he ever gets to Christian. A rematch with Tomko and a match or 2 with AJ keeps the issue burning, with him almost getting his hands on Christian. Otherwise it looks like TNA is trying to showcase more wrestling since WWE has gone back to Sportz Entertainment in the last few weeks after putting the emphasis on in-ring action for awhile. -
BTW, I was just thinking about the Jarrett interview, and it occured to me that it was the first time that I can remember that they admitted Jarrett owned the company on TV? I know they hinted at it during his first heel run, but they never out and out said it. Just a thought...

Ok, I agree that there were quite a few questionable booking decisions and TM Russo ~SWERVE turns, but it could be just me, but the Nash thing kinda makes sense. His first TNA protege was Shelley, and they never really had a break-up. He just kinda moved on to Sonjay and Lethal. Nash, who's been a face and a heel, sees different things in Lethal and Shelley and they fight for his affection. I can't say I would have booked it, but it's ~SHADES OF GREY to a T. Next month, we'll probably get Dutt/Lethal vs Sabin/Shelley, which should be great if they gave it any kind of time at all. And eventually, once Lethal and Dutt win Nash's soul, Dutt's gonna turn on Lethal. This was the least questionable of the questionable booking decisions everyone's talking about to me. At least I can see where it might go. Hoyt turning on VKM though? Yawn... I have to admit that I got so into the match that I didn't notice this. AJ's always in these matches (and Lethal LockDown's) to be the stunt man though, so I can't say that surprises me. And with the way they gave Joe the visual of making Angle tap (instead of anyone else) and the post-match stuff, they are obviously setting them up for a title feud. Hopefully they don't do 6 matches though.

Yeah, I'd say it was the best KOTM ever, and I've enjoyed them all (last year's shitty ending aside). I'll post full thoughts later, but this show was way better than it had any right to be. And mark your calendar's for Angle and Joe's summer tour. Hopefully they keep them separate til BFG....

Wow, they went with Harris. After that match on Impact, I'm ok with it. The last time they had a mystery KotM participant, it was Raven, and they went ahead with the surprise win. Any chance they do that with Harris? He just got a pretty good rub from Jarrett...

Looks like Devon is on the Bubba Ray diet plan...

According to TNAWrestling.com, Abyss vs Tomko No DQ was added to the card. I like the idea of the mystery man being Harris, but if I were a betting man, I'd put the house on it being Jarrett. That said, I don't think he wins the title. For some reason, I'm thinking they pull the trigger on Joe tonight and build to Angle/Joe at BFG, with the even steven booking they've been doing. Angle's beaten Joe twice, but now Joe's making him earn the title shot. We'll see though. Either way, I'm ordering. I gotta admit though, it's more about the fact that its a road show than the line-up. Of the 3 so far, this is definitely the weakest line-up, but I really like seeing them in front of new crowds. Hopefully they'll surprise me tonight...

Notes from Meltz about tonight's show:
-
I guess I'm in the minority, but I'm actually pretty excited about this PPV. I've been done on TNA for most of the Russo tenure (the last show I ordered was Genesis), but I think this show has been built pretty well and I'm definitely ordering.

On one of the TNA Today shows online this week, Borash said that if Christian gets the pin, he doesn't have to defend the title at Sacrifice.
-
I liked the package a whole lot too. It definitely had an old school ECW pulp fiction vibe going for it.
-
I still love AJ's heel remix.

results from TNA's house show last Satuday, from PWI:

TNA has officially announced Slammiversary being in Nashville this year, though they didn't say which venue yet. Here's the info they put on their website:

I know the return last night generated some discussion, but here are the full results from the tapings: thoughts?

That was a great TV match. If they ever do a best of Impact DVD, which I'm sure is coming, that's got to be on there. The only others that jump out at me like that one are the X-D six man from the first show of 2006, the Daniels-Joe title match from the first Thursday Impact and the Christian-Rhino cage match from the first primetime show.
-
If they do it like they did it year, the roof will be lowered when all 10 men are in the cage, with mid-match fireworks to prove it...lol.
-
Ouch....WM commercial during Impact. A lil' "who's your daddy?" from WWE?
-
This EY/Roode thing has a distinct Million Dollar Man/Virgil vibe to it (that was one of my fav angles of all time), though of course they aren't going to let it play out long enough to have the same effect. And Petey Williams has nothing on Roddy, though I mark for the CD.

That segment dragged a bit, but on the whole, I still think they're doing a great job setting up Lethal LockDown.
