Credit: PWInsider.com This is an intriguing match up, but I have to question why they don't just announce it to pop a number with the teenage girls that love Hardy. I guess they're going for the anything can happen vibe. Good pick IMO, on such short notice. First anniversary show we got Sting, this year we get Jeff Hardy. They're going to mess around and establish this show as important or something. lol.

Here's an update on the Hardy situation Credit: PWInsider.com Hmmm....interesting. Him appearing on Impact would be good for casual viewers, but if that means he's signed a deal with TNA long-term, then that's decided bad, unless he's improved incredible in his "free" time.

I agree here 100%. The can use the footage similiar to how they use the footage of Jarrett El Kabong-ing Hogan and can say don't miss the PPV because anything can happen. Hell, last week Jeff Hardy showed up to challenge AJ Styles. Its not something they should every week like they tried in the beginning of 2003, but in moderation, it can be effective. And it the marks eyes, this surprise will rock, even if it will suck in most of our eyes. I do they should have announced it to try to pop a buyrate from his fanbase. I think the second Styles/Syxx-Pac match was very good and that mostly due to Styles.

Lynn and Red are actually former tag champs. They only worked 3 matches as a team, but they defeated XXX in a very good match in April 2003. They dropped the belts pretty quickly, but what I saw was enough to make be believe that they'd be a good face team to have around. And, it would give both guys something to do.

It certainly looks like they went with the "name" for shock appeal to make the show appear bigger because they lost one of the marquee match-ups. We'll see how it turns out. The plus is that they'll have footage of Styles going over Hardy to replay ad naseum like they do with the footage of Jarrett El Kabong-ing Hogan. It might have more value in the long run for TNA than it will in the short run. Plus they get to headline another show with Styles/Kash. If this is a one-off deal, I'm all for it and it will benefit TNA, IMO. If not, we might have a problem. But I don't have a problem with them bringing in Hardy with the sole purpose of putting over Styles, as long as he doesn't "put him over" like Luger did. It'd have to be like Waltman did in 2002.

yeah, it's actually on the main site there. I'd think that'd be a good idea for you. Dames did it for a while. I remember his reviews were also on www.onlineonslaught.com. Get you more exposure that way. And hey, at least your columns on the main site here. I'd trade that for feedback, I think anyway. lol

Thanks man. I haven't feedbacked you, but I really like The Rush. And don't feel bad, man. My lone feedback came from a mark on tnarevolution.com.

I actually got to watch this show as it aired, and didn't read any spoilers in advance for the first time. I enjoyed the show, but I wasn't blown away. Here are my thoughts on this week's edition: I like the 6 way, but Miyamoto came off as a cheap imitation of Tajiri, especially with the midst. They need to be careful of things like that. They really need to begin developing characters for the X guys because watching the same combinations of guys do the same spots every week is going to get old REALLY fast. The Abyss match was just a squash. It was the same thing as his match with Shark Boy on the first show. At least they had Goldi with him to continue his god-awful feud with Watts at little. I hate the feud, but I'd hate it more if they just dropped it. Shark Boy playing with Popeye was hilarious. It added a nice comedy flare to the show. The Naturals match versus Sabu/Dutt was very entertaining. Everyone, including AMW, did a good job here. I actually am intrigued by Sabu and Dutt as a team and I think they remain a team after the Raven feud because of how thin the tag division is. BTW, I have heard a TNA crowd pop for a hot tag like that in a really long time. I would have like to have seen Raven here somewhere, even if just in an insert watching the match. TNA really needs to consider taking their show on the room, even if just to other parts of TN or FL, because fresh crowds would do wonders for the product. The AJ Styles match was a decent TV match, but I think they should have made it a title match to make the show seem more important, since Styles was going over anyway. The post-match segment was done really well. Kash is such a great heel that he's already the most over with the new crowd. And I liked that D'Lo was on the show, even though he wasn't wrestling. I popped for him making the save. I liked the video on the Trinity/Desire feud. The match will suck, but at least people will have a reason to care. The ME was once again kinda there, and that's the biggest problem I've had with Impact the last few weeks. The ME has felt like a let down, when it should feel like the most important match on the show. And while I'm a huge mark for the Truth, TNA has given me absolutely no reason to care whether he wins the belt. It's all about Russo and Jarrett. I can't believe they let Russo get the last word before the match. Truth should have cut that promo.

This sucks. This match was one of the big draws for this show. I wonder who they're going to feed to Styles know. Michael Shane maybe?
-
According to Meltzer, they're planning to run a Team Canada/AMW feud in the near future, so I'm guessing we'll see TC move up the rankings while AMW disposes of the Naturals.

From TNAWrestling.com I'm thinking Waltman, Classic, Psycosis or Teddy Hart. I would say Juvi, but he's got heat.
-
This is true. I was just thinking that they wouldn't care much since they are making TNA pay to air it. I didn't think they were as particular about paid programming, but I could be wrong.
-
How would they be violating their deal with FSN? Do we know that for a fact? I'm assuming, and I may very well be wrong, that if, as you say, they just have an infomercial deal, they could do whatever they want with it as long as they pay FSN to air it. People air infomercials on different stations all the time. Yes, you did get unfairly criticizing for pointed that out.
-
I remember reading that as well. It specifically mentioned keeping those clearances, and Comcast Sports South as well. I mentioned that a few months ago during the debate on whether or not FSN would show replays of Impact. I still think that would be a great way to increase the visiblity of the show.
-
This is from Meltzer. It will mostly like mean less pre-emptions because the replays don't usually start until 2 or 3 am. I'm excited that they got this fixed before I head back up there for school in the fall.

He was most recently the "Coolest Dude on the Planet," less ladies man, more cocky SOB who took all his opponent lightly because they weren't as cool as he was.

Looks like a good show on paper and I'll be there in person : This match should be fanastic. These two have great chemistry in the ring and I'm they'll be in the ring before 9:30, so they should have time to do their thing. I watched their first match on the DVD again just to get myself pumped. I'm afraid we're going to see run-in city though and unfortunately, Jarrett's clearly going over. This feud has played out very well, and I love the way its gone so far. I'm a little surprised they're delivering the actual match this soon (I thought for sure we'd get a tag match with D'Lo first....maybe on Impact), but I'm sure this won't end the feud. I'm sure Styles goes over to keep the crowd happy. Can't kill all your top faces in one night. But it won't be any kind of convincing at all. I'm not really excited about this match because I'm not really a fan of the random challenger generator for AMW and I'm disappointed TNA won't move Team Canada up to challenge them like everyone is screaming for. Also, I'm on a fan of Nosawa from the little I've seen of him and on Impact, Miyamoto came off as a cheap Tajiri knock-off. I'm sure the Naturals get involved here somehow. Either AMW wins or we get another crappy DQ ending. The Raven/Sabu feud is the best thing going in TNA right now and the most interesting one on one feud in the company since Styles/D'Lo. TNA has managed to get people interested while having them barely touch each other. I'm sure that trend continues here. This segment will rock! Eh...not much to say here. Hopefully this ends this feud because its definitely run its course Hmmm...can't say that I really care here either. If D'Amore doesn't take the cradle pile driver here, than I will officially be right in my assumption that this feud will never end. I hope they don't just have Team Canada run in to save D'Amore. Let him take the pile driver so we can all move on to normal, productive lives. Only five matches announced so far, so I'm sure we'll see Jarrett/Killings and Styles/Kash get decent time, probably 15-20 and 10-12 respectively. Sounds ok on paper. I'm glad they're doing both Jarrett/Killings and Styles/Kash at a show I'll be in attendance for! We'll see how the rest of the card shapes up, but overall, this looks like a stronger card than last year's anniversary show.

I never said TNA had the ideal business model. I just said that the rating they delievered was a good sign for them. Whether or not they sustain it and whether or not they can convince new viewers to order PPVs is the ultimate question, but I just said it was a good start and explained why. I didn't say every company should do it TNA's way because TNA delivered at 0.3 rating. That would be basing a business model on assumptions.
-
This is true. You have to have a reason to care after the "Holy Shit." And Kazarian had a very entertaining character that obviously was clicking with fans, and it looks like they're downplaying it now that they're on Fox. Bad move, IMO. The X guys have to have characters of the novelty will wear off in a few weeks, max.
-
Nobody is saying it will be THE reason they get moved, if they get moved at all. But the number of signatures could be used as evidenced that a move would be support by viewers, who are, or should, the network's primary concern. And I believe the petition has been edited, because at first glance, I didn't see any errors. Maybe I missed something, I don't know.
-
Nobody said this would get them moved tomorrow, but it would allow for concrete evidence that there is support for such a move, which can't hurt in any way. Why not do it?
-
I was just going to ask how that was any different from your assumptions.

TNA does have essentially a "set" audience, but the big deal about this rating is that it doesn't necessarily reflect that audience, because most of TNA's "set" audience probably wasn't home and recorded the show like most of the people on this board. Ever notice that the Impact reaction thread is always dead until about 6 o'clock? That's because most people haven't watching a tape yet. This number represents the channel surfers who stayed with the show and that is huge for TNA as that is fresh eyeballs. With a better slot on a better network, you'd have those channel surfers, plus the PPV orderers, which would equal a higher number.
