Rematch of BFG main event planned for Impact

Even if they do put the belt back on Angle, I am still not really seeing where they go from there. Do they go back to Angle and Joe again? At this point, it'd probably mean more for Joe to beat Sting if that's the route they want to go, but they'd almost certainly not do that until Sting was on the way out the door to do the passing the torch thing. When Sting won, I thought that might be were they were headed since Sting's contract should be up in a few months, with Angle doing something with Nash. If Angle gets the belt back, who's in position to challenge him but Joe? I might say Harris, but they buried him by not even letting him getting in the battle royal last night (which got no reaction, showing how much they blew his momentum after his great matches with Storm). I'm not going to call this stupid until I see what they do, but it certainly has the potential to be.

Bound for Glory taking place in Atlanta

I was at this show and all I can say is wow. I was so underwhelmed with the build that I wasn't excited about going all day, but that was an amazing show live from start to finish. The building wasn't close to being full, but obviously the crowd made up for by being into EVERYTHING. The building normally holds about 11,000, but with the stage, it was probably set up to hold 6 or 7 thousand, had they used the side beyond the cameras and the upper decks, but they didn't. The floor seats and lower bowl of the hard camera side were all full though. I guess there were 2500 or 3000 people there. Still, one thing I kept thinking about was how far TNA has come in such a short time. This was my 2nd live TNA event (I went to the 2nd anniversary show in Nashville), and this was light years ahead of where they were back in 04. When I walked in the arena, I felt like I did during all the Raws I went to during the height of the Attitude era. For as much deserved shit that we all give TNA, it really felt like a big time promotion was in town when I walked into the building. The biggest reactions of the night were for Sting, Joe, the MCMGs and LAX. Pacman by far away drew the most heat, with Angle coming in second and Christian third. I was really surprised with how over the Guns were though honestly. I love them and want to see them at the top of the tag division, but I really thought they were just over with Orlando. They were in a pre-show match and got big reactions, but I thought that was because they were the first guys out who'd been on TV. But even in the battle royal and when they came out for the tables match, the crowd was into them. The main event started slowly and the crowd was pretty quiet in the building, so I was worried that they might have been worn out from Joe and Christian's clinic, but Angle and Sting got them back big time. The fact that no other matches had run-ins (Tomko and AJ were stopped and the Guns didn't get physical with 3D) really made people HATE Nash getting in. The pop Sting got for the false finish there was huge and the one for the pin was even bigger. Also, Joe got the biggest non-"name" pop of anyone on the show. The crowd saw him as just as much of a star as Christian, Sting and Angle. Now if only TNA would... Seriously though, this was an awesome experience live. I don't know about their house shows, but if TNA ever brings a PPV to your town, GO.

    10/11 Impact

It seemed like the pacing was better this week, and there was way less interference, but nothing on this show stood out to me like the 8 man last week. Also, there should never been a week without the MCMGs on my TV. They're the most entertaining thing in TNA right now.

    OAO 10/4 Impact Thread

I don't know, other than the main event, I thought this was a bad show. Black Reign and Rhino was better than it had any right to be, but otherwise, the first hour sucked bad. I actually feel asleep during the gauntlet and had to watch the 8 man on tape. The pacing was much better than the 1 hour shows and you could see them trying to add layers to things, but the Angle-Sting stuff was bad and the Pacman thing is a joke at this point. Team 3D is getting heat, but at the expense of all the wrong guys. I really think they should book a revenge match between them and the Guns since the crowd hates 3D and loves Sabin and Shelley. The heat there would be off the charts, even if it was a big Impact match. The 8 man was all kinds of great, but by that point, they had literally put me to sleep and I'm a guy who's been following them since day 1. I can only imagine what someone who was just getting to the party thought. It's a miracle that crowd wasn't completely dead by the main event. I think they had one hour shows that were better than this one, and it definitely doesn't compare to either of the two hour shows they did before (the one that Abyss-Angle last year and the one that had Jarrett-Rhino for the title in 2005). They just picked a terrible time to have a bad show. Hopefully next week will be better.

Ok, what the hell does Jim Mitchell have to do with Black Reign? Tenay and West have talked about Mitchell more than either Rhino or Dustin. Did I miss something?

That's how its been the last two years, with Genesis serving as the starting point for all the major storylines that take through LockDown. I wish they were having Daniels or Lethal in a showcase match though. There has been no push at all for their title match since the first week after the last PPV.

Bound for Glory taking place in Atlanta

I live in Atlanta and have tickets to the show, but I thought it was worth mentioning that I've heard NO local advertising for it at all, other than the usual Impact commercials.

It's been awhile since I could say this, but this looks like a pretty good line-up this week. Not that it will get any time, but Truth/AJ could be fun and Christian and Fatu should be able to work a decent TV match. We'll see...

Bound for Glory taking place in Atlanta

I'm going to this show, so I'm kind of glad they got most of the line-up out. I'm hoping the build is as good as last year's was, but I don't know judging by what we've got so far. The top matches (Angle-Sting, Joe-Christian, Lethal-Daniels, 3D-Steiners and most likely Abyss-Judas) are all fine by me, but the undercard is TERRIBLE. The Fight for the Right is guaranteed to suck, , the Ultimate X match is so thrown together and LAX hasn't even really done their face turn yet and within two months no one will care about the women's title. they should be bringing in a secondary belt here so they can stop using the X-D title for that purpose when it fits their booking (remember Sonny Siaki's reign?) I thought last year's show was pretty gimmick heavy too, but this seems to be a lot. That said, if Angle and Sting have their working shoes on and Joe and Christian and Lethal and Daniels do their thing for 20 mins a piece, no one will remember that the first hour sucked. This year's BFG, like TNA in general, is a mixed bag.

    No Surrender 2007

They gave the first Angle/Sting match away for free in April. It had no build, opened up the show, and lasted about five minutes before ending in a double disqualification. while i don't think the main should be Angle/Sting (i'd much rather since Joe in the spot), i don't buy the argument that the Angle/Sting can't draw anything because they had a dq ending on Impact in April. WM14 wasn't the first time Austin/HBK wrestled (they did a double dq on an IYH in 97), and then did ok. Of course, i'm in no way saying either Angle or Sting are draws like HBK and Austin. I'm just saying that having a match on the big show that has happened before isn't the end of the world always. The catch is that it has to be promoted well, which TNA hasn't shown it can do since Jarrett/Raven.

Ok, I haven't watched Impact in about a month, but since I'm planning to go to BFG since it's going to be in my backyard, I'm going to try to get back into it. I figured I'd start a thread for anyone else who's going to be watching/wants to be bitch about why they didn't watch. Here's the preview: Discuss...

    No Surrender 2007

So I'm guessing we get Angle and Sting for the title next month and either another round of Christian and Joe or Joe and Morgan. Yawn...I really hope they don't give us another Sting BFG title win again. That was a nice moment last year, a career cap kinda thing.

    OAO 9/6 Impact Thread

I don't know if it's just me, but this so seemed more clipped than usual. I don't know if it was that they were trying to fit a lot in or if there were alot of botches, but the editing was really obvious. Two spots that jumped out were during the main event, when Abyss had Angle up for the power slam and when Lethal went for the cartwheel dropkick on Sting. During the slam, they cut to the crowd and came back to Angle on the mat.

Can anyone who's been keeping up recently tell me if Abyss is getting over as a face? Seeing him teaming up with Lethal seems kinda surreal after watching him squash small guys for years.
