I love how they left out the shitty Land of the Dead movie and then made fun of the stupid "attack bus" shit from an otherwise okay Dawn of the Dead remake with "It's...THE KIDS. THEY HAVE...MODIFIED THE BUS!"

"The difference between a good and bad manager is probably a couple of wins at best." WHAT?

One of these six pitchers had to go to the bullpen to fix the problem, and of the six, Myers was the best candidate no matter how you sort them. As ridiculous as the move may look on its face, it was the best way to address the situation. Manuel has PUBLICLY STATED "Freddy Garcia, we'd like to see him go 5 innings, 75-80 pitches". 5 innings? With THAT bullpen? Hmmm, why not, I dunno, until Freddy's ready for more pitches, have him throw some setup innings while Lieber gets his "final try" as a starter. Believe me, sending Garcia to the pen is absurd. I know how it sounds. So is putting Myers there. The whole thing is absurd. But Myers isn't the best candidate. Back up a level. Why does Charlie Manuel have this impossible problem? Why does he have six starting pitchers and one strikeout reliever? For that matter, why does he have six starting pitchers, one strikeout reliever, and Wes Helms as his everyday third baseman? Or Shane Victorino in right field? Or four straight right-handed batters after the cleanup spot? For the answers to that, we have to look to Manuel’s boss, Pat Gillick. It was Gillick who assembled this misshapen mess of a roster. It was Gillick who dealt away Bobby Abreu and Jim Thome for, on this roster, Aaron Rowand and Matt Smith. You can argue that those deals paved the way for the contracts Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley now enjoy, or the presence of Eaton and Garcia on the roster, but there’s definitely been a cost to those trades. Thome’s absence hasn’t been felt thanks to Ryan Howard, but you can’t argue that this team is better off right now without Abreu, no matter how much the city hated him. Yeah let's eat Thome's contract while he either A) Starts at 1b and Ryan Howard doesn't set the Phillies all-time record in home runs and wins MVP. Or B) We pay Thome to pinch hit. Thome had to go. Rowand was a fine, likeable replacement until he crushed his face. Ever since then, his batting average has went down, his offensive production has suffered, and he's been off a step defensively. The Phillies problems now, IMO, are 50% Manuel, 30% players, 20% Gillick.

Top Ten Draws In U.S. Wrestling
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in The WWE Folder
Sting couldn't draw an extra .2 to TNA's ratings, much less be a bigger draw than Batista. STOP THE MADNESS. No one cares about Ric Flair's career in 2007, he's a novelty act. If anything, fans are insulted when he gets pushed over young guys. Hardy might have some "teen girl / little kid" draw, but Cena's already drawn those fans to the arena. Thus, Jeff does nothing. -
The Phillies WIN A GAME. Al, tell me what to look out for in the Reds series. Their pitchers and hitters. I don't follow the Reds whatsoever, although Griffey made a hell of a grab yesterday. I believe they have a solid hitter named Adam Dunn, too. But they're the Reds, c'mon now.

Flairs, Hardy, and RVD need to get off that list, ASAP. -
Couple things: That Angry Nerd Review of TMNT is awesome. "These f'n electric plants...". What he says is pretty funny. However, check out his Friday the 13th review for some actual goodness. PUNCH OUT!!! rules. Sandman (from Philadelphia, PA, eh?) is gonna taste the mat soon enough.

Booker taking some time off for injuries
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in The WWE Folder
Why is he an idiot? Meltz reported Benoit was leaving. And Vince wouldn't have another Best of Seven series between those two. Booker's already won TWO of them against Benoit. Interesting thought - Booker defeated Benoit in 2 best of sevens...yet did not defeat Benoit in either "seventh" match. -
That Triple H Vs. Jericho HIAC match is pretty dull. Trips is still in slow, too-muscular mode, plus he's playing a babyface against Jericho so it's a bit ridiculous.

Phillies now at 3-10! Barring Jeff Garcia playing like God and somehow getting the Birds to the NFC East Title, this has been the shittiest Philadelphia sports years in recent memory.

I got Punch Out!! featuring "Mr. Dream", as any video game fan should.

Al, sometimes the Phils announcers will be speaking about the sponsors when behind the logo, far away, you see the first pitch of the inning being thrown. I'm awaiting a big home run to be hit one of these days on the first pitch. Looks like we might go to the 13th in D.C. as the MLB Jobber Party continues.

As a Romero/Zombie mark, this is one of the best fucking episodes of South Park ever. So perfect in every way. Night of, Dawn of, Day of....Bub, the "situp" death scene, and even the fucking TAR ZOMBIE!!!!!!!!

The little boy and young girl in the movie bother me, as usually little kids in horror flicks = shit. I might wait for the DVD.

PHILADELPHIA -- Manager Charlie Manuel hollered and laced into a profanity-laced tirade after Tuesday's 8-1 loss to the Mets, only his 10 minutes of invectives weren't directed at his players. The postgame press conference ended abruptly when WIP radio personality and Manuel antagonist Howard Eskin baited the manager by suggesting he shed his perceived nice-guy image and Norman Vincent Peale approach to winning ("The Power of Positive Thinking") -- and "go off on somebody." Seemingly good naturedly, Manuel said, "There are times and ways to do it. For me to just go in there and throw a fit -- I can go in there and tear the whole [expletive] locker room up. I can come in here and throw over every chair. I don't see where that's going to do any good." Eskin persisted. "Don't you think it creates some urgency for the players?" he said. "Because they hardly ever see you angry." "I think they see me angry more than you think they do," Manuel said. "I think you probably don't see me angry. I can show you [that] I can get angry. Why don't you drop by my office? I'll be waiting on you. I'll walk down there right now." When Eskin joked that he'd be heading to the manager's office, Manuel repeated that he'd be waiting. Minutes later, Eskin was in Manuel's office and the manager could be heard screaming from behind a closed door. Ten minutes later, while reporters were questioning starter Freddy Garcia, Manuel walked into the clubhouse and continued. Told to "grow up" by Eskin, Manuel shot back with an unprintable response. He was escorted to the back by catching instructor Mick Billmeyer and media relations manager Greg Casterioto, while hitting coach Milt Thompson took Eskin out the front door. Some players, including Shane Victorino, Garcia, Jon Lieber and Jayson Werth, witnessed the exchange. Much of it is frustration over the team's 3-9 start that has left them in last place in the National League East. Though he might not have expressed it with a blowup, the players know he's not happy. "We know he's upset," Aaron Rowand said. "He's not happy with the things have gone. We haven't played well enough to win the games that we should. Everybody knows he's not happy. He doesn't have to yell at us to relay that across. We get it. "We have to play better as a team, all the way around." Phllies.com

Yeah, good idea. Hey, Phillies lead 3-0 in the first with a shitload of infield singles and shady Oswalt Astro pitching. Edit: 3-1. First Astro at bat hits a home run.

Porter, besides the fact that I'm going to wager I have/make more money than you and thus have attended, I'd predict, over at least a hundred more professional baseball games alone than you in my young lifetime, I'll simply say that I have only posted two comments about the Phillies on here, so your "constant bashing" tag doesn't fit, buddy. Also, "for no reason"...uh...have you SEEN a Phillies game? Ask Al, although he tends to not jump and lash out at things as quickly as I, even he must admit that the Phillies have one of the worst manager/bullpen combinations in quite some time. So either come up with your own logical arguments, or come up with a better "diss" than to take my rather accepted claims against the 2-7 Phillies, off to yet another abysmal start, and try to counter it by making an actual argument instead of your nonsensical lazy typing.

Hey, Philadelphia superfan checking in for week 2 of the majors. The Phillies manager still blows. The Phillies can't get any "long innings" from the offense and can only score via home runs. The Phillies bullpen is still awful. Clay Condrey, Geoff Geary, Ryan Madsen, Tom Gordon <---all these guys are horrible Wes Helms sucks. Aaron Rowand sucks. Jimmy Rollins is great. Ryan Howard is striking out a lot but I love the big guy. Chase Utley needs to start hitting. The Phillies are now 2-7.
