Mercury HURT Nitro. Three reasons: 1- After Nitro's singles push, which started poorly (IC Title was meaningless, poor mic skills) and then got GOOD with the series of matches with Jeff, Nitro was seen as a singles star. Insert faceless (literally, he had a facemask on) tag team partner, who, like it or not, was using Nitro's heat to stay on TV. By lumping Mercury in with Nitro, you were calling Nitro just a "tag guy", since his partner has the same ENTRANCE, MUSIC, RING ATTIRE, MANAGER, and style. 2 - Mercury's inclusion into the tag team ranks, IMO, killed any casual interest in a possible Foley/Nitro matchup for Mania, a match that like Edge Vs. Foley last year, could've done wonders for Nitro. But putting Nitro in spotfests like Armageddon or in tag matches with the Hardyz, it became "let's get that big blowoff at Mania!" 3 - The "big blowoff at Mania" didn't happen, likely because of Mercury having some sort of problems. Now Nitro is out of WM altogether, unless a shitty tag against Carlito/Flair or a Battle Royal gets put on the DVD.

So Benoit and MVP went 25+ minutes at a house show. What do you guys think of this? WM 23: Benoit and MVP have a 20-minute draw. A lost art, both guys look strong on the big show, puts the U.S. Title feud forward (that they kinda rushed into with two good workers).

The Venom in Thunderbolts (Gargan) is AWESOME. He's drawn really well, has a cool costume, and recently almost blew the Bolts whole "American Heroes" gig as he was going to EAT Jack Flag, if Moonstone didn't stop him. They show that when he has the suit on, Gargan claims it's really warm, as opposed to when he stores it in his stomach, he gets a sickening, cold feeling. Forget Brock, it's 2007, and THAT Venom was unfortunately, after an awesome debut, way too overexposed and played out. I hope the new Venom eventually gets respectability and then goes nuts at a press conference, eats some little children, and remains an evil character who doesn't "reason" with heroes.

Maybe J.R. will be a "surprise" live inductee, like what WCW did to Gordon Solie in the early 90's when he was the host for the ceremony.

Well Ultimate FF, Ultimate Spidey, and Ultimate X-Men ALL come out next Wednesday, so if they're continuing that trend, I can see why the Ultimate Universe appears to be slowly telling stories, at a rate of 1 release date per month. Ultimate X-Men is trying to pass off Xavier "dying" or something as a big event, when in reality he & Cable will pop back up at anytime. Ultimate Spidey had an okay-ish Clone Saga, Spidey finally dumped Shadowcat for MJ, and now he's gonna be doing stuff with the Marvel Knights-type characters. Ultimate FF I don't read. I'm now only picking up "Ultimate" stuff in trades.

For the people saying JJ and Roadie were basically gone before the IYH where Jarrett dropped the title, WWF Magazine put out a SummerSlam 94 card with JJ Vs. The Roadie advertised, AND a story on new IC Champ Shawn Michaels being challenged by Sid... So it appears there were plans, or that wouldn't have been announced.

Thunderbolts #110-112 are awesome stories, the new direction is really cool, the villains/kinda-villains are fleshed out well, and the cover-ups and bullshit "attacks" they pin on heroes that they hunt down are pretty sick and devious. Read these issue.

The WM 22 3-way World Title match was spots in 9 minutes and no story, while Shane Vs. X-Pac brought us DANCING SHANE, The MEAN STREET POSSE, and EVIL TRIPLE H. Taker Vs. Flair - ARN ANDERSON SPINEBUSTER. Decent build-up. It TECHNIALLY led to the brand extension as Flair was booted from ownership as a result of his wrestling. That's a huge drop in revenue for them, especially for a sure to be sold-out show.

I wasn't trying to diss TNA. But regardless of building size or whatever, calling Orlando "TNA Country" is crazy. SIDE STORY: I went to Orlando for Spring Break. TNA runs out of the old Universal (not the superior Islands of Adventure) lot, right down Nickelodeon Alley in Stage 18. In case anyone was curious.

"Foley SHOULD have stuck around ROH and make Joe the superstar he should've been by now? I just don't get it." Yeah, that's impossible. TNA has a larger audience than ROH, television, and PPV, and even if they gave a 2-year long reign as NWA World Champion he wouldn't be seen as a "national wrestling superstar" by the public.

I wouldn't call Orlando "TNA Country", as every WWE show in Orlando ever has had a bigger crowd than a month's worth of Orlando TNA shows.
