Just for fun, 15-seed goodness: * Richmond over Syracuse 73-69 in 1991 * Santa Clara over Arizona 64-61 in 1993 * Coppin State over South Carolina 78-65 in 1997 * Hampton over Iowa State 58-57 in 2001 -

I was at UConn Vs. Albany last year. As a diehard Nova homer it would've been the greatest sports moment ever for me. Stanford's callin' Wisconsin in about an hour, "Hey you guys wanna play some XBox?" -

All those who said Wisconsin would crush Not That Texas A & M forgot that the #15 seed's star player is "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels. -

"LBSU's coach is getting fired win or lose, lol." WHAT? Against a Tennessee team that could be an Elite 8 contender? -

WINTHROP ASS KICKING. Anyone see the irony of the Fightin' Irish losing to a team full of "little people" ? -

I'm back from Orlando. I watched Day 1 at that "Wild Wings" place they advertise on TV heavily. AWESOME environment, tons of big screens. Terrible games on Day 1 though. Day 2 Thoughts: Georgia Tech looked young, sloppy, and unorganized. Winthrop is gonna stomp the Irish in the 2nd half. I actually picked Long Beach State because of Kingofthe909. Their coach gets fired likely if they lose, right? NOVA VS. KENTUCKY. If Nova WINS, Jay Wright likely goes to coach Kentucky. So, uh...lose Nova. Go TXAMCC. Oh, and Vandy to the Sweet 16 tomorrow. The announcers hyping North Texas like some sort of good team was fun for a few minutes. -
Watch out for ".500 since AI got traded and 7 straight wins" 76ers...I hope they get within 3 this week.

If you picked two Texas A & M schools to go to the dance instead of Syracuse, you get a medal. -
For one thing, Vince's play by play SUCKED. He deliberately explained each character as if there were some 10 million new viewers that had ordered to see LT. Vince trying to put over The Blu Brothers and World Title choker turned mid-carder Lex Luger was particularly funny.

I know some people watching Great Khali have said "get the hook" but that was ridiculous! Ba-dum ching! Seriously, Khali's chop to Hardy was the most hard-hitting wrestling move of the night. Fucking PERFECT.

This year belongs to the 1-6 seeds. My two favorite teams in the tournament are Villanova and Oregon. I actually met some of the Ducks visiting a friend at Grad. School out there, at a party, and I've been a fan all season. Smoked with one of them there although I wouldn't say who. Plus, their absurd mascot DUCK, Seattle Sonic circa 1991 esque colors (my favorite NBA team of the 1990's), and under the radar team make me a big fan. I was happy to see them get through their mid-end of season bullshit and win the Pac 10. GO DUCKS! Eh, to the Sweet 16.

The South is the biggest bunch of crap I've seen in one region, OSU aside, since I've watched the tournaments. That'd be since 1994, I'd say. The West is awful, too. But the low seeds in the South are SO BAD. Long Beach State? THE FUCK?

MIDWEST: Florida, Purdue, Butler, Maryland, Notre Dame, Oregon, Georgia Tech, and Wisconsin advance. -- Surprises: Purdue (a better team than Arizona, but ranked lower) and Georgia Tech WEST: Kansas, Villanova, Virginia Tech, Holy Cross, Duke, Pitt, Gonzaga, UCLA advance. -- Surprises: Villanova (Kentucky BLOWS), Holy Cross (ALWAYS a dangerous team, it's time) and Gonzaga EAST: North Carolina, Marquette, Arkansas, Texas, Vanderbilt, Washington State, Texas Tech, Georgetown -- Surprises: Arkansas wins a shocker, Texas Tech knocks out an occassionally sleepy Boston College team. Both teams get squashed in round 2. SOUTH (aka the Jobber Bracket): Ohio State, Xavier, Tennessee, Virginia, Louisville, Texas A & M, Nevada, Memphis Surprises: NONE. The low seeds in this region are laughable.

Title reigns: Benoit > Jericho > Rey > Orton In terms of how they were presented. Sure, Jericho may have been Honky Tonk 2002, but he was champion during a hot time "Rumble to Mania", and didn't lose clean every week ala Rey for a month. -
I'd absolutely love a Judgment Day 2007 match between Londrick and MNM, one year after the champs beat MNM for the titles at the same great PPV. They can show the big fight afterwards and hint that MNM might not be able to beat them, even though they ruined that angle with a meaningless Smackdown! non-title match a bunch of weeks ago.

Just got a copy of WCW Worldwide from January 11th, 1992. During Gordon Solie's "WNN" (Wrestling News Network) update, they show the finish to Liger defeating Pillman for the WCW Light Heavyweight Title on Christmas Night, 1991, at "Battlestars '91" in Atlanta's Omni. I've been waiting to see ANY clips of this match forever. No one got some awesome comp with the actual match on it did they and would be willing to upload it? I'd legit send you $20 if you upload this match for us. ___ The finish: 16 minutes in Pillman gets a sleeper on Liger. Liger runs into the corner, ducks out of the sleeper, and Pillman crashes into the top turnbuckle, head-first. Liger goes up for a moonsault, but Pillman is back up. Pillman suplexes Liger off the top rope, both sets of shoulders down...1...2...Liger gets his shoulder up...3. -
What do you guys think will be the last Mania matches? I think MNM takes the belts Monday and faces Flair & Carlito at WM 23. Orton gets into MITB. Unreal that Kendrick & London, as of WM 23, will be on a 10-month title reign, and not be on the card, unless the rumored Battle Royal takes place. Still, they deserve better.

JBL's burial of Punk was crazy, ending with a markout line: "Welcome to the Friday Nights kid, now go home." was said SO coldly right when Kennedy hit the finishing blow. Then a clean 3 count. Say what you want about movesets, indies, pushes, heat, etc...Kennedy looked like the bigger star in the match and deserved to win it, and it was a good momentum-building match for WM. -
Thanks to the true heels for some votes, and honestly, I don't recognize redbaron's name, so I don't really know who I'm running against.

They get at least 9 million views each week in the U.S. for Raw/Smackdown/ECW/Afterburn. Another 7 million viewers in EVERY OTHER COUNTRY COMBINED is not unreasonable.

The heat between Melina and Mickie James originally stemmed from an angry online rant by Melina after Mickie debuted during the "Trish's #1 fan" angle and wore "furry boots" that Melina claimed was a blatant rip-off of her attire. No lie.

From a marketing standpoint, Cap's war stories, patriotism, etc. was easier to spin and feel for then Tony's alcoholism and playboy affairs, I'd say.
