NFL Week 7: You Mean There's A Football Team In Denver?

Get Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb the fuck out of Philadelphia. Reid having some semblance of time management with less than 3 minutes (GOTTA PASS, PASS, PASS! TIMEOUT!) and McNabb not overthrowing open receivers in the end zone could have helped avoid this. I appreciate all the happy memories these guys brought to Philly this decade but their time is up and it's time to go in a different direction.

Man, the Dynamic Dudes blow like EVERY MOVE. So does Stan Lane in the 6-man. Watch the end of the match and see the awesomeness that is Lane's "hot tag" where everything gets botched. Those interviews with Solie and Cruise were not on the Turner Home Video Edition. THANK YOU, VINCE. Scott Steiner's attempt at a promo is hilarious.

Download the real Halloween Havoc from PWTorrents. Since you've already paid for it on 24/7 and were not given the full show, there should be no morality questions about doing so. Noticeable things: The "spooky" awesome theme music for Halloween Havoc '89 is replaced in the beginning and some generic crap is thrown in, making the feel of the event go from cool to corny. The crowd immediately craps on the Rountda/Z-Man match. Z-Man gets some cheers, starts celebrating, and the rest of the crowd shuts down the marks by boo-ing him. Interesting note from JR, it was the "female fans" that gave him tyhe "Z-Man" name. Adding more to my dislike of Zenk. This match sucks and the crowd lets out a giant "BOR-ING" chant as JR describes the match offense as "very basic". Crowd now loves Rotunda for battering Z-Man. Actually, the home video version of Havoc '89, unlike other events with missing undercard matches, has all the matches. Just some clip-jobs.

"Does anyone remember around which time Faarooq disbands the NOD and starts fresh with D'Lo Brown?" July-ish. Rock comes along a few weeks later and does a run-in. His first heel match is Vs. Chainz.

It did say "go.jeri.go". Two of us saw it. You're one person. In the center of the screen between other numbers/letters. I don't care to argue as it's not like it excites me or not like we don't know who it's leading to, but it's there.

The roster is ultra-thin and they're using a boring "respect" angle between a kid who is a terrible wrestler and an always-slow veteran who can't deliver. Everyone will fall in love with this duo because they're better pontential tag title contenders than London and Kendrick, who got mega-over on Smackdown! despite the tag division having crap like D n D and Stevens & James to face every week. THIS IS WHAT WWE WRITERS REALLY BELIEVE.

YES! I'm glad we got a match with a generic, bland-looking, no-gimmick OVW product in black tights. I hadn't seen one on TV in like 6 minutes, I was getting worried.

The video saying "go. jeri. go." is kind of a giveaway. Wow, this Raw is awful. And the video quality is ass, along with the heatless/bad matches, endless recap videos, and unfunny cartoons.

Ken Shamrock cuts the worst interview ever. "Yes I was the special referee and Austin was unconscious so I needed to get in there. You see when I was reffing, Austin was, uh, uh he was out cold so that's why I stepped in. When I saw that he was unconscious I stepped in because I was the guest referee. Uh. Uh." Owen: "You're so selfish, Bulldog!" Savio Vs. Ahmed on Post-Mania Raw does NOT suck. Honky Tonk: "The Brooklyn Brawler told me earlier he wanted me to take a close look at him." Honky Tonk: "Move, Lombardi!" Sid: "Get in here, you chicken shit!" Ahmed does the Rock Bottom, the signal for the People's Elbow, and the Rock spinebuster in consecutive order... Bret: "I think it was really a gay magazine." Ahmed: "IMAKEADEALWITYOUSEGUYZ."

Basically, Raw started to get good once it became "Raw is War" in February and used the Manson song. LOL @ "C'mon, Vince! I thought I was gonna get SOME TIME! When do I get SOME TIME? Can I have SOME TIME?" "Stop whining, Bret!" "SHUT UP, LAWLER."

    WWE 24/7 October Discussion

Man, you guys are in for a treat if you've never seen Halloween Havoc 1989. The pop at the end of Freebirds/Dynamic Dudes from the anti-babyface Philly crowd is something out of the Austin '98 books. Seriously. Plus great stuff like Luger/Pillman, and the blowoff to the awesome Bash '89 ending with Flair & Sting Vs. Funk & Muta in an f'n electrified steel cage with a rope swing and Bruno Sammartino referring. Oh and the Steiner Brothers tearing shit up, with Woman's big PPV match debut alongside Doom. Plus, Road Warriors Vs. Skyscrapers which Jim Ross sells as the biggest tag match of all-time, pretty much. A shame we won't hear "Welcome to the Jungle", "Her Strut", "Rocket", Funk's theme, and countless other "real" songs but what can ya do? I've never seen the full, non-Turner version of this show. I'm psyched.

"at least one Flair/Muta PPV main event" Muta announced in late December before Starrcade he would be returning exclusively to Japan. Hence the Starrcade jobbing and subsequent mega de-push after his amazing 1989. Flair/Muta does take place at Starrcade, and Muta does one of the greatest mists ever, spraying Flair (who bumps down at 100 miles an hour onto his back) after the Flair/Funk main event at Bash 89. This Clash main event (originally Flair/Sting/Arn Vs. J-Tex minus Gary Hart) would be the modern equivalent of Cena, Batista, and Hardy Vs. Duece, Domino, and Finlay. Just a forgone conclusion.

Hercules didn't really work TV as a face. He kinda just got some pops at the 92 Rumble and worked house shows as a pseudo face to put people over, hence the heel P & G tights. MSG 92 HIGHLIGHTS SO FAR: The Bezerker tries to win a match...by using A PINFALL! The GWF's own "Conan" Chris Walker Vs. Warlord feud continues! Walker had like 4 TV matches in '92, including a PINFALL VICTORY over Warlord using the super slow huricanrana! Some awesome bouncy flying axe-handles and crossbodies. Can Walker do it again? The debut of Dr. Harvey as Sid's manager! The super-safe Sid powerbomb! REPO MAN! Steals something from a crowd member! Monsoon and Heenan flip out! "SHE OWED MONEY ON THAT WATCH!" "WILL YOU STOP!" Flair cuts a promo about a battle royal and is all like "Alfred, I just won the motherfucking Royal Rumble in the best WWE match ever and lasted 60 minutes, so this fucking little kid 20 man battle royal will be cake." Oh man the battle royal gets its own "Rumble"-esque promos. BABYFACE BULLDOG Vs. BABYFACE UNDERTAKER SUPER RARITY MATCH _______ "the television during the in between periods end up being dreadfully boring" Well, do you want: Edge Vs. Batista announced in January and given to you in April, with Edge and Batista squashing jobbers/low-carders/1 big opponent for 3 months? OR Edge Vs. Batista announced in January, but they face each other every single week until the match in February. Repeat for 3 months until feud is blown off. Each sucks. I take the "payoff" option #1, personally.

I'm really not liking this 15-minute undercard matches with Poffo/Sharpe, Tonga/Goulet, and Spot/Kirschner. They're just atrocious. Did the world NEED a time-limit draw jobber opener with Sharpe and Poffo?

    The OAO RAW Thread 10/08/07

"John Cena's not a big phenomena" I'd venture he has sold more merchandise in this decade than any other professional wrestler. And agree on the WWE being stale and all the same. It's like they desperately NEED each show to be the same. Come on, seriously, is there one good reason why AAE is the GM on ECW? It's so random. But he's a non-wrestling bad-guy! Heel GM, that will be shocking!
