SNL "Lazy Sunday" Link from Last Night...
The Mandarin replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in Television & Film
I thought that was terrible and I just laughed hysterically at a Mexican version of Mr. T screaming, so that has to say something about either me or the skit. T, sucka -
You can't slip Naomi Watts' nipples by the censors, no way. Those things are gigantic. Had they been visible at any point, King Kong would have started battling them.
-
Leyla from the Diva Search just appeared as a model on "Deal or No Deal". Not that it matters. Crystal did as well but hardly anyone remembers her.
-
"Deal or No Deal" is captivating. Wait, no it isn't. Where's the trivial questions?
-
Congrats Ortonsault. #8 ain't bad at all. I can't remember where I came in at the end of Season Four, but I'm sure it was lower. Hah, my buddy made it in at #25 without changing his roster all season. Fantastic.
-
Yeah, that had some pretty nifty spots. That hurricanrana was nuts, even if it was delayed.
-
Kash is the champion.
-
LOUD "End this match!" chants. The fans shit all over an extremely dangerous top rope hurricanrana. Insane.

Tim White, upset at Josh Mathews' pun, pulled a gun from under the counter at his bar, went offscreen and apparently blew his brains out as Mathews did REALLY horrible acting. Now the announcers are making no mention of it.
-
Tim White offed himself. Fantastic.

Even if you're not high on Christian there is no denying he was over (circa March to May or June of this year) and could have gotten even more over with a program, a face turn and more interview segments (and less of his sometimes plodding wrestling). Instead he got shabby treatment and buried in his hometown. I'll give him the nod mainly because I'm a biased fan. William Regal is fantastic and was very popular in August of 2004 despite not wrestling much at that point. Yet once again, WWE missed the boat on a feud with Triple H (Triple H beating him with a sledgehammer and overturning the stretcher carting him off was some of the finest HHH work I've seen in years). He was also buried in his hometown frequently (couldn't beat La Resistance, lost to Daivari and Hassan in a non-title match) and was basically given no consideration. Just really sad. He's a bit older than Christian though so even if they did push him to the moon, he wouldn't be on top for as long as Christian could. Shelton Benjamin had a number of good to great matches but I never thought of him as the second coming or anything. Usually, his Heat and Raw matches were just as bad as anyone else's. Unlike Regal or Christian, he cuts bad promos and that's his main downside and is one of the only things I can see the bookers defending their decisions with.

I don't think it will be making much of a profit, though (even after it heads overseas). Maybe 250 million or something like that. Nothing fantastic.

Man cries at a Wrestling Convention
The Mandarin replied to UZI Suicide's topic in General Wrestling
Ironic because that matchup sounds like the epitome of "unrealistic". Azrieal and Dixie vs. Special K from Manhattan Mayhem soured me on all four guys. Az's participation in the four-way at Homecoming was alright though. -
Oh my God, that sounds insane. I'm buying several OVW DVDs once ROH gets December in.
-
I thought it was decent, but disappointing. Especially because I could have seen Syriana instead. Don't really have any specific criticisms or complaints other than that the taxi chase was absolutely retarded (it was weaving left and right to a degree that a taxi could never move at). Nothing else, really. Memory hazed by alcohol. I didn't actually wish for it to end until the movie's climactic scene hit the 15 minute mark or so. Anyways, I'd reccomend it at the theatre, but I'm not going to pick it up on DVD.

Rockers vs. Orient Express at RR '91 is my favourite indy match of all time. Well, no, but it is very similar to the style that a number of workers use today (flashy moves) and watching it shows how absolutely boring WWE style is. It's a **** match that today, isn't as spectacular as it was in 1991, but if you watched it live it was positively mind-blowing. Look for it on WWE 24/7 under Nunzio's Holiday Present or whatever. Nunzio's a good man.

This can apply to novels, comics, magazines, required reading for university, warnings on your medication, etc. I have so many books just laying around, it's incredible. I'll get to them at some point. High Fidelity (just got that today, however) Black Hawk Down The Long Walk Helter Skelter Silence of the Lambs Jarhead The Death of WCW (although I am reading that now) I also have other books collecting dust that I never really finished, including Wiseguy and Fahrenheit 451. I've got to stop impulsively buying books like this only to not read them. Obviously, I've purchased a bunch of books based on films that I enjoyed since I'm not on the upswing of what the popular reading material is these days. Last novel I read was 1984, which was tremendous. So what aren't you reading?

Finisher of the Year: Musclebuster (Samoa Joe) Knockout of the Year: Traci. True to the category's name, I would rather be knocked out than to say Gayda or Kim are attractive. X Division Star of the Year: Samoa Joe Tag Team of the Year: AMW, I guess (I am bored by all TNA tag teams) Who To Watch in 2006: Roderick Strong, make sure to watch him in Ring of Honor Memorable Moment of the Year: Jeff Hardy's Swanton because I was only able to see three moments Match of the Year: AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe vs. Daniels Feud Of The Year: AJ Styles and The Fallen Angel Mr. TNA MVP 2005: Samoa Joe I probably shouldn't have voted since I only watched BFG and the first four episodes of Impact. Oh, shucks.

What a waste.

It should be "Mr. Jerk" rather than Mister. That's your problem.

The 63rd Annual Golden Globe Nominations...
The Mandarin replied to Mole's topic in Television & Film
Even though Jeremy Piven's going to get the Supporting Actor for Entourage, it would have been nice to see the Ethan Suplee get a nod for playing Randy on My Name is Earl. He's really been fantastic. Charlie Sheen has consistently been a bad actor, and that streak continued into the one episode of Two and a Half Men I saw. I find it hard to believe he improved. Eh, whatever. As long as the shows I like (i.e. The Office, My Name is Earl, little else) don't get cancelled. -
I swear Batista's pecs are much smaller. It's probably due to his injury, though.
-
You guys must not watch SmackDown, because Batista has seemingly disappeared. Orlando Jordan and Lance Cade are more physically threatening now. It's quite scary.
