Pedro Martinez is GONE after 2004

"The basic mindset of Boston fans is this: Play well, and be able to tolerate us getting on you a little if you don't, and you'll be ok with us." This seems to be the common trend with the big east coast cities (Boston, Philly, and NY). And I am sick of how the rest of the country thinks that attitude is wrong. My biggest pet peeve it fans like the St. Louis Cardinals fans. Just because they cheer everything and anything then they are the greatest fans in the world. Now they may be great fans (I have never been there, don't know the mindset), but just because you cheer doesn't make you a great fan. Giving your heart to a team makes you a great fan and when you do that sometimes you don't want to be cheering subpar, half-assed performances.

    TONIGHT'S Smackdown Spoliers

An Eddie/Cena feud could be interesting if the booking team doesn't change their characters. As long as they don't turn one into a cookie cutter face, I would like to see how many arenas go for each guy.

Pedro Martinez is GONE after 2004

I have to disagree there. When Pedro is healthy he is the most dominant player in the game. If you are looking for the most overrated player(s) in the game I think your own middle infield is a good place to start looking.

Pedro Martinez is GONE after 2004

At least Philly has had worthless ownership. There is nothing that can be done about that. Boston has been spending cash, getting players for all these years and still losing. And Boston is the worst because of the whole "Oh man we're cursed, the Babe is out to get us" shit. And I don't care how many they won before 1918, when there are only a dozen living fans who can lay claim to remembering the team's last championship those titles mean nothing.

Official MLB Trade Deadline 2003 Topic

I can't believe they traded Giles without unloading Kendall as well. PITTSBURGH -- Brian Giles was traded by the Pirates to the San Diego Padres on Tuesday in a long-rumored deal that sends left-hander Oliver Perez, outfielder Jason Bay and a player to be named to Pittsburgh. Giles Also Tuesday, the Padres traded outfielder Rondell White to the Royals, ESPN.com's Jayson Stark reports.

WWE SummerSlam 2003 - GAMBLING THREAD

[Mr. Burns voice] Excellent. [/Mr. Burns] What i don't understand is why so many people bet on Jericho going over, i mean i would have loved to have seen it, but was there some other sort of logic behind this besides wishful thinking? For me Jericho was more of a push your chips into the middle type move. This game is no fun if you are just going to make a couple hundred bucks a month and stay in the middle-back of the pack forever. I would rather bust like I did than keep that up. Lesnar and Benoit fucked me over though.

    FUCK HHH AND THE WWE

As well as elevating the IC belt after winning it from Jericho.

    FUCK HHH AND THE WWE

? If this was in regards to the Austin lapdog comment, I would say when the champion says "I want to be on this guys team because he is such a competitor he tried to kill me.", then he becomes the second banana on the team.

    FUCK HHH AND THE WWE

Then when Austin won the belt he played lapdog to HHH.

    FUCK HHH AND THE WWE

Of course when said person beats him no one will care. The only way to get someone to care about the new champ would be to have them beat HHH in at least 3 straight PPV main events followed by HHH leaving the title chase for a good year. Want to take bets on the chances of that happening? HHH left the title scene for a good year before he got injured in 2001. Didn't he fight Angle for the belt at Summerslam 2000 and Royal Rumble 2001?

You have got to be kidding me!

To hell with house shows. When was the last time HHH was a regular in-ring performer on Raw?

You have got to be kidding me!

"Would Goldberg plowing through the roster in 3 minute matches be any more exciting then HHH?" Is that really any different than HHH plowing through the roster in 12-15 minute matches. The only difference I see is that Goldberg ends the pain quicker and only gives *1/2 performances as opposed to ** performances. I don't want either to be the champion but Goldberg was the last person who could believably beat HHH. Any match from here on out HHH either wins or whoever beats him will be seen as a placeholder til HHH comes back for the belt. And I am eagerly awaiting any upcoming Randy Orton or Ric Flair (please retire) feuds.

You have got to be kidding me!

    1. I doubt in his current condition Crips is going to be working too many house shows. 2. Losing a belt after 9 months is not hotshotting it. And a belt also needs to be lost and won to have some credibility. Right now it is still the HHH plaque. A belt needs a hot feud and a hot champion to be credible. 3. HHH beating Goldberg should not lead to a singles program. HHH started the feud by beating Goldberg in the main event at the second biggest PPV of the year. From here on out who cares what happens.

    FUCK HHH AND THE WWE

There was no excuse for HHH going over. First of all, there should have been no EC to begin with. It should have been Goldberg/HHH one on one. If HHH can't go then Goldberg squashes him in five minutes. I despise Goldberg, but you have to see if there is any value in him. They have already ruined that however. His first title shot he should have won and been given a chance to run with it. Now you run into the Jericho/Flair situation where Goldberg will win the second match but by that point noone will care. They need to run an injury angle now with Goldberg. Bring him off of TV for a couple of months and bring him back as an ass kicker. Of course whatever face wins the title is eventually losing it to Orton so it really doesn't matter.

I am intrigued by the fact it looks like two horror movies battling for the no. 1 spot next week. How long has it been since that has happened?

    Titans: 03-04 Super Bowl Champs

I can't see McNair staying active all 16 games this year. He was banged up all last year, but managed to play. I can't see him pulling that off again. And between mediocre WRs and an abysmal Eddie George, I don't think they could make up for an injured McNair.

    Pennington Breaks Wrist

Yeah. He apparently twisted his ankle and left in an inflatable boot. They say he is ok, but whenever someone leaves in medical gear there has to be something to it.
