So the Travis Henry injury adds another point I guess?
-
I was thinking Waltrip with Booker because even though Waltrip gets some top 10 finishes could you buy him as a race winner. Maybe a fluke victory or a DEI restrictor plate race, but noone really buys him as championship material. Like Booker T, good midcard title holder, possibly a transition champ but nothing more, plus time is starting to run out on both of them.
-
I would give that to Bobby Labonte. A past champion, when his car allows can have a great race, but isn't given many opportunities and is likely to never see a title again.
-
I could see that. I think that would turn Kenseth into Angle. More talented capable of running away with a race, but always in the top scene even if he isn't lighting it on fire.
-
Gordon - HHH (Has achieved in the past, making people think he is still that guy. Bitches when things don't go his way) Michael Waltrip - Booker T (Took years to finally get to the top, had a brief run of high finishes, now back to midcard) Robby Gordon - RVD (Came in with a rough start [wrecking people = potato shots] finally started to get going but still seems to put foot in mouth or do stupid things sometimes)
-
Harvick - Tweener Jericho (started out as a bit of a dick heel but fans wanted to cheer, also came in with a big entrance) Stewart - Pussy Heel Jericho Busch - A talented Randy Orton (Young, brash, thinks he the best) Kenseth - Undertaker (Never is the big main eventer, but does what is necessary to stay in ME scene) Earnhardt Jr. - Brock Lesnar (Young guy, big hype, shown flashes of future brilliance but hasn't put it all together yet to be THE guy)
-
I think Gordon would have turned heel if they didn't expand as much as they did. But when NASCAR went away from old tracks into the bigger cities he was more what those fans were looking for. More than the good old boys that fans usually cheered for. And Stewart is well on his way to becoming a Jericho-esque whining dick heel. Bitching about feul milage and saying he wants out.
-
I enjoy the general apathy towards Gordon now. People still cheer when he crashes but he doesn't get booed during intros or victory lanes that much anymore. You do have to give NASCAR credit though for marketing Earnhardt Jr. like they have been. If he never goes on to do anything they milked a good bit out of him while he was hot.
-
I could see that in a couple of years if he hasn't won a championship or if he goes over to RCR and gets a little too much pressure. If you think about it though right now NASCAR is running a perfectly booked New Blood vs. Tradition feud that WCW tried. You have the young guys going over a lot. A champion (Kenseth) who is a bit of a tweener between new and old school styles. An old gun who never succeeded until now standing up to the young guns. (Waltip) Growing dissension in the young gun ranks. (Harvick-Busch) Growing resentment among the older set of drivers that will either eventually lead to a grand comeback or the complete passing of the torch. Either way you get a big babyface comeback or the evolution of the product.
-
Even more Redskins connection? The backup on the guys team to Pennington is....Patrick Ramsey.
-
Harvick even cut the classic babyface promo using the words rubberhead and butthole. He is an oldschool face who won't even swear now. I do miss him jumping over cars to get at Biffle though.
-
I did enjoy the prerace and the end of the race commentary where they were trying to make Busch out to be a good guy. The prerace "Hey, the man gives to charity and races for a dead friend.", and the end "This guy won how can you boo him."
-
Fucking Busch. Who would have thought this time last year Harvick would become a face though? Bonds, Michael Irvin was a good heel, Earnhardt was a good NWO style cool heel.

I clicked on this topic thinking it was the DVDVR 500 for some reason. Imagine my shock when I saw HHH, Big Show, and RVD that high on the DVDVR list.

Well time to scare Chad Pennington's owner. Taken from ESPN.com EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Jets quarterback Chad Pennington dislocated and fractured his left wrist against the New York Giants on Saturday night and is out indefinitely. Pennington was tackled from behind by Brandon Short after throwing away a pass with just under two minutes remaining in the first half and landed awkwardly on his wrist. He had X-rays at Giants Stadium, which revealed the fracture-dislocation, and was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York for immediate surgery. The Jets do not know how long their starting quarterback will be out, and said Pennington's status would be determined after surgery.

I can't complain. I don't see a spot on my team that I won't get some production from. And I like getting Michael Lewis in the last round since return yards are actually pretty valuable.

Sunday night baseball is the Phillies/Cardinals. Whenever Scott Rolen comes up to bat the fans boo. Every single time this happens the announcers get an air of disdain in their comments about Philly fans. Fuck You. Scott Rolen didn't want to be in Philadelphia, so to hell with you if you think the Philly fans booing him is absurd. I am tired of this anti-Philly bullshit. Since the J.D. Drew incident fans have been running on the field and attacking people, fans have thrown cell phones at players, but of course Philly is still the bad guys.

Associated Press BOSTON -- Oakland Athletics left-hander Mark Mulder, who left Tuesday's game after two innings with what originally diagnosed as a right hip strain, flew to Arizona on Wednesday to see a physical therapist. Right-hander Tim Hudson, hit on the hand by a line drive on Saturday, was scratched from his scheduled start Thursday against the Boston Red Sox. "I don't think he'll make his next start,'' Macha said of Mulder. "Hudson's just pushed back. Mulder's probably a little more of a concern.'' Oakland entered Wednesday night's game at Boston one game in front of the Red Sox in the AL wild card standings. Mulder was examined by Oakland's medical staff and Macha said the injury was diagnosed as "tendinitis.'' Hudson, hit on the right hand by Toronto's Dave Berg's liner in his last start, was pushed back to Sunday. Rich Harden will take his place against Boston's Pedro Martinez on Thursday. "Timmy said it got a little better, but not a lot,'' Macha said. Before Macha announced his decision, Hudson said he felt like he would still make his scheduled start. "As of right now that's the plan,'' he said when asked if he would start. "Every day it basically gets a little better.'' Hudson, who threw a two-hit shutout against Boston in beating Martinez on Aug. 11, played light catch before Wednesday's game. Mulder, meanwhile, went see the therapist who helped him with back problems a few years ago. "He did a good job then,'' Macha said. The A's are hoping their rotation can continue its recent outstanding work, too. "We're doing the best we can with what we have right now,'' Macha said. Well, if they are out for any more than one or two starts, there is no way they are hitting the ball enough to cover for the pitching. And I can't see them hanging with Boston.

I want the Braves to take over the top spot from the Giants giving Philly/Atlanta (A winable series for the Phils) SF/St.Louis Yankees/Red Sox Mariners/Royals

"then I'm going to fuck up EVERY fucking post you make from now until your so sick of seeing the name "Stennick" in your threads that you stop showing up" I can't say it was your best strategy to outright announce that you will become a troll, if he posts something you don't like.

Alan Funk was Kweewee.

"It was a travesty last week that they allowed Harvick to spin out Jeff Gordon without any punishment." Gordon ran out of gas and wouldn't get out of the way. What was he supposed to do, stop and let Gordon, Johnson, and a couple more who probably would have passed him beat him?
-
I was beyond pissed that it took this long for the to do something to those two. I am a Harvick fan and I was able to accept his parking last year. But the shit these two have been pulling at Indy and Michigan (where they top 200 mph), while Harvick fucked around on short tracks (where you are 80-100 in the corners). Can't blame Gordon for siding with Spencer, though. Remember at last year's Winston, Busch wrecked Gordon and in an interview mentioned he did it purposely to get a caution.
-
Lets see. They "injured" Lesnar before the match to make him look better in the end I guess. It would have been such an awful storyline if you had these two wrestlers, both injured, both willing to sacrifice everything to win the title at WM. And just because Raw gets a better rating doesn't mean more people watch it over SD.

Maybe Kimmel will ask him why the hell he would ever agree to be referred to as Booger Red.
