    Box Office Report...

The only movie I ever walked out of was Ocean's 12. It was a late showing after our company Christmas party, I had a couple in me and was just bored out of my mind watching it.

    Desert Island Draft

Time to pull my redneck card and finish my 80s night on the schedule with The Dukes of Hazzard I am at work and for some reason am having trouble getting a picture, so I'll edit one in when I get home.

My turn to add some 80s cheese to the list The A-Team Mr. T + shit blowing up = good times

    NHL Offseason Thread

Given that resources need to be held for Carter and seeing what Cammaleri fetched, I like the deal. RJ is solid, but probably not worth the cost given who else needs reupping.

Well as long as Waddell is GM it is still possible. I am sure Homer can talk him into Hatcher for Bogosian.

That Filatov kid looks like Christina freaking Ricci. And yeah, I don't get the LA trade in the slightest. All Cammaleri is worth is moving up 15 spots in round 1?!?

    Desert Island Draft

I kicked Jebus a pm with my top two picks, so he can throw my pick up when he makes his pick as I am calling it a night. And I didn't expect Firefly to make it back to me, but the Price is Right/Jeopardy back to back combined with Firefly going hurt.

Holy hitting the wall Batman. Three hours away from skipping a second pick.

    Desert Island Draft

I almost took that when I took Undeclared, as I thought that might be the show you were talking about before. Since gtd brought it up, I don't know if it will make it back to me in round 6 so let's go Batman: TAS

Undeclared Hilarious. Nails the college experience. And if I am going to be on a desert island, a little reminder of the most fun years of my life wouldn't be bad.

I wish Gosunkugi had gone over his time. I really thought I would be able to get Daria in the last third of the draft.

Ok, if it was in there, my bad. And, it could have been worse, at least it wasn't Pujols on your team.

He's definitely been sniping the top of my board. Going back to Family Guy, though, I think it really suffered from ridiculous overexposure. If you were to ask me what show I wanted to watch "right here, right now" it probably wouldn't crack the top 20, as I have seen them all about 20 times each between Fox/MyNetworkTV/Cartoon Network/TBS. But it is definitely something I would want on the island.

Honestly, I have always been under the impression that FAs of any variety were able to be kept as 20th rounders. The only way it affected my add/drops was I picked up Kelvim Escobar to stash for a potential keeper under that assumption. Not that I would likely keep him, but options never hurt. I may be the only one, I guess, but I'd like to know if it has really affected anyone else's add/drops. If it has then we can go ahead and wait to start "free" waived FAs next season. I agree that if I drop someone and pick them back up, I shouldn't have to take the draft value if FAs are "free". But being that I am the one most likely affected at this point (Ervin Santana), I am not going to be the one to make the case for it to be that way. And if you get a player who slumped and got dropped, more power to you IMO if they can be a cheap keeper. Everyone had a shot to pick up a Cust, Sexson, Garland, etc. when they were available.

Just wanted to argue this point as well. I don't like this idea either. If I pick up someone that got dropped their "contract" should be finished. Of course the cost is kept through trades and if you want to argue against someone dropping their own player and picking him back up still costing the draft slot I won't argue that (as I did with Ervin Santana, though it was not for that reason). But if a player is made a free agent, that should be exactly what they are "free" with no later cost.

At the worst though, the waiver priority is determined by reverse draft order. Since ours is an offline draft, you would just have to input the teams in the reverse order of the determined waiver priority. And not trying to put myself over or anything, but I am in first and my keepers have ranged from zero to a few innings of performance (Liriano, Gallardo, Josh Fields), to mediocre (Vlad), to solid middle reliever (Joba) and one stud (Berkman). So I think the draft may be getting underrated a bit as a team can be built through it (and free agency) without being carried by keepers.

I am not a fan of that idea at all. It just seems to punish teams that have a full group of legit keepers and didn't have to hold their nose to pick a 5th/6th name to keep. Whatever rule is used (either an increasing cost or a firm 3 year rule) should help free up some newer names each season in the draft. I do think something that might need to be addressed is the waiver priority. The way it is now the best teams have the first shot at the premium prospects. So where the expansion teams need help the most, they are never going to get it (cheap, FA stud prospects). Whether we went to a randomized order or just keeping the draft order (worst teams get first waiver priority), I think we need to change something up on it.

House Wasn't expecting to end up getting this as I figured it would be gone before I wanted to pull the trigger on it. Terrific season 4 finale bumps it ahead of a couple other shows I was considering.

Was hoping to get that on the turnaround to put with TDS for a killer nightly 90 minutes.

The Daily Show Brilliant, plenty of volume to open up some 1 to 2 season long shows at later picks if the draft falls that way. Adds a premium comedy to the line up.

It is kind of interesting though, to see what shows other people watch. You always have the threads of the really popular shows, but this will show you what people watch that really really doesn't get the buzz. And I am shocked Mole didn't go Whedon first overall (not a knock, I am plenty gay for the Whedon). I definitely don't see any Whedonverse getting back to him, while Entourage may have. I have a list of about 60 that I hope to get at least 10-12 from.

    Desert Island Draft

I was surprised, when I did up my lists, how few shows I actually really like. There were a lot of "thats fine" or "that one wasn't bad". There were maybe 15-20 shows that were an absolute, even if I was the only one drafting.
