Hows your new CB partnership looking? ours is probably the best thing at the club. our reserves seem keen to impress, they beat Rovers 6-0.

We've had some worries as well, throwing away goal leads at Huddersfield and Bradford(Beckett,Windass and Pawel Abbott always score against us), we've still got a Goalie at fault for 50% of goals conceded and our two main assets(Brooks and Cotts) look off the pace. On the positive side, Louis Carey is still fantastic, Phil Jevons looks a great bosman and when he's fit Chris Weale should be the best keeper here since Billy Mercer.
-
We'll give you Stewart if you can send us a good Left Winger.

We haven't lost in pre season yet, with all the trialists and transfer listed guys we've got 2 squads at the moment. Nuno Santos has been good so far, with a bit of training he should solve our left sided problem and save a bit of money as well. http://www.cityladies.co.uk/spf/bristolcity_dive.jpg Transfer wise, Partridge is to Orient for a month with Heywood at Brentford and we've actually named a player we're close to signing which we haven't done since the Coughlan cock up. Might not seem important, but on our team photo there's a psychologist and nutritionalist expert which we haven't had since the cutbacks when Wilson left.

The main leagues start in August and end in May, in World Cup year it's changed a bit to give players a bit of a break. The best leagues are Spanish,Italian,English,French,German,Dutch and Portugese, Each league has about 18/20 teams and also has a cup competition. The top 3/4 teams of each league go into the Champions League and the cup winners go into the Uefa cup, these are where you'll see the clubs from opposing leagues play each other. The best League's for entertainment are usually a country's 2nd or 3rd division, most teams don't have much money so the teams are more even than in the top league where the top teams tend to be far better than the rest. Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/League_system That will explain the leagues much better than me.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/5210260.stm Can see him at Ajax/Feyenoord/PSV in a few years if he does well. On the main site he said he has good memories, compared with flapper who described his last 8 months "a nightmare" and mentioned the word respect a lot. http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/displayNode...tentPK=14966945

What happened to Rick Martel in 91? after Wrestlemania he loses to the Warrior and Piper on Television and then he's gone until just before the Royal Rumble, was he injured?

The World Class Italian players(Zambrotta,Cannavaro and Buffon) would settle fine, the ones who complain usually aren't performing on the pitch. Barcelona do look unstoppable, get a left back and GK and there's no weakness. Inter "won" the league this year, this season the real battle is for 2nd place. Could say the same about English players, certain players(Lennon,Terry,A.Cole and Lampard) would really benefit by playing on the continent.
-
The Italian Trial is really not doing anything for the Premiership's image is it? Zambrotta and Thuram join Barca Emerson and Cannavaro join Madrid Buffon,Del Piero and Nedved want to stay at Juve Toni to Inter or Madrid Ibrahimovic to one of the Milan clubs Milan have no need to sell anyone Funny how none were interested in playing in "the most exciting/Best league in the world" Edit: Playing as Juve and winning Serie B first season should be a really fun challenge on FM 07.
-
Why not. Our Trialists and Reserves beat Clevedon 4-0, "The Next Big Thing" played 63 minutes but didn't score, Cherno must be adjusting back to English life after 2 years in Spain, the Portugese Left Winger got a nice free kick and will probably be the one trialist to be offered a deal.

Taken From the Website, I'm assuming Phillips agrees terms, we will also get a Goalie on Loan until November/December when Weale becomes 100%. In: Phil Jevons (Yeovil Town, Bosman), Jamie McCombe (Lincoln City, nominal), Liam Fontaine (Fulham, tribunal), Enoch Showumni (Luton Town, free), Chris Weale (Yeovil Town, Bosman). Promoted to 1st team squad from Academy: Jennison Williams, James Wilson, Frankie Artus, Shaun Lamb, Elliot Benyon, Danny Wring, Dean Grubb Out: Jamie Smith (MK Dons, free), Oliver Barnes (Bristol Rovers, free), Steve Phillips (Bristol Rovers, Nominal) Released: Bas Savage, Ryan Harley, Nathan Abbey, Clayton Fortune, Luke Wilkshire. Transfer Listed: Marcus Stewart, David Partridge, Grant Smith

Phillips seems to be off down the road to the Gas, Flapper dropping down a league should shut up certain parts of the crowd who said he was Championship quality and our best Goalie.
-
Good result last night, 6-0 at Forest Green with 6 scorers. Johnson's really searching far and wide with the trialists, we've had Portugese,Belgian,German,Irish,Argentine,a 6'7 French midfielder plus CM Legend Cherno Samba.
-
How's Maclean doing, fit yet? It's horrible when you have a really good player who's always injured, we had that with Billy Mercer a few years ago, best Keeper we had in years as well.
-
Is he likely to be sold soon? we left Phillips,Stewart,Partridge and Smith home when we went to Latvia(won 2,drew 1 and 1 player sent off) hoping to be rid before we got back. For the first time in ages we look to have a plan B, we've signed Showunmi(6'5) McCombe(6'6) and have a 6'7 inch midfielder on trial, good thing to have if Brooker and Jevons doesn't work up front.

http://www.fifa.com/en/mens/statistics/ind...rticleid=118178 Fifa's first World Ranking under their new system, looks like the African teams will benefit the most from it.
-
Our Media are pretty good at that, 2 years of "England have 6-7 world class players" a month of "they have no technique" and then back to world class when we've won a match.
-
Same here, only won once on TV in recent memory(play off semi) We're on August 29th away to Northampton, first time we've been on since Johnson dropped the "Hand Grenade" in the dressing room. Edit: We won our First Pre season game 2-1 against Skonto Riga, Brooker and McCombe got the goals, we used 22 players and only our Trialist Argentine Goalie played the 90 minutes.
-
Clayton Fortune who we released is on trial at Derby, Billy Davies must want a 6'3 CB who can't head a ball.
-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serie_A_scandal_of_2006 Buffon placed bets when it was technically legal(until Late 2005) so should only get a fine.
-
Italy should go on now to win, best Goalkeeper and Defence with a really solid midfield. The Referee tonight was really good, hardly noticed he was on the pitch.
-
Where would you rank Sven against the England managers since 1990? I'd go Venables Hoddle Eriksson Taylor(did have a great start) Keegan Hoddle was doing really good until the Diary came out, his formation would suit the current group of players.
