I'm more worried about Hull, they're second, no trophy to pick up despite their efforts and no reason to play Elliott,Barmby and Fagan who are the only real quality they've got. Edit: Do runners up get any medals? I'd be pissed at the end of my career if I ended up with just a few paper clippings as proof of achievment.

It was until your winner at Hull, we were drawing 1-1 at the time(finished 2-2) and we'd worked out that a 2-0 win on Saturday would leapfrog you. We've got to hope Brentford lose their last 2 games and a win on Sat would overtake Bournemouth or Hartlepool(who play each other) Still I hope you can get promoted, along with Bournemouth and Luton you were the best side to come down here. To be honest we really don't deserve a play off place, the boss can't pick a consistent first 11 and there's been too many bad performances, I'd say about a 3rd of them. Edit: For next season's sake I hope Crewe stay up and Brighton/Gillingham go down, Crewe should bounce back with their youth policy and seem a bigger promotion threat than the other 2.

Didn't know about the wage drop thing. You may have an amazing youth team, but there's a huge step up to first team football. I never said you were in debt, but your tv money would drop and all your revenue would as well. Sunderland's went down by about 12 thousand, if you did go down and didn't bounce straight back up I can't see you filling the stadium every week.

I could see Southampton outside the Prem for years if they go down, the Attendance will probably drop to about 15-20 thousand, all the good players will go and all the crap players on Premiership Wages will either stay or get paid up to leave.

Whoever goes up from the L1 play offs, this league is awful, we've been poor this season and yet we can still finish top 6 if we win our last 2.

He was feuding late 1996 and in early 1997 with Bulldog, so I always thought that might have been his match. The way I see it: HBK vs. Hart Undertaker vs. Sid Austin vs. Bulldog 6-man streetfight Rock vs. Owen Goldust vs. HHH Vader/Mankind vs. Furnas/Lafon Something like that. Marc Mero was originally going to get the IC Title match before his injury.

I usually get that when I have 4+ top strikers, with rotation one of them usually only plays cup games giving him the chance to cash in on lower league defences while the others get a rest.

We had Lee Miller who couldn't score despite trying(like Dobie I guess) and we sent him off to Scotland and now his worth has gone pretty high(we offered him to Hearts for 100k in Jan and now we're after 400k with add ons) Getting him wouldn't be a bad thing as next year he'll get 15 goals easily if you've got a decent crosser(unlike us). Edit: Not really surprised about Johnson, Sheff Utd have about 8 Strikers.

This is the basic format copied off a website. 60 Teams, 24 each from Leagues One and Two, and 12 invited teams from the Conference. 30 teams in each area group. First round: 14 single-game ties in each area, with 2 teams receiving byes to the second round. Winners advance to the second round. Second round: 8 single-game ties in each area. Winners advance to the area quarter-finals. Area quarter-finals: 4 single-game ties in each area. Winners advance to the area semi-finals. Area semi-finals: 2 single-game ties in each area. Winners advance to the area finals. Area finals: 1 two-legged tie in each area. Winners advance to the national final. Final: a single game, played at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. The bigger League 1 sides treat it as a joke really, once you've won it there's no fun in it. We've won it in 86 and 2003.

Look on the bright side, you've got Stockport(Crap team, Crap manager) Hull(thinking ahead) and us(shit in the air,no creative flair and crap when against Wednesday) as your last 3 games, 7 out of 9 and you'll get 6th with Brentford having an awful run in. Edit: Any thoughts on Lee Peacock?

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

In the Death of WCW book it says that 15 guys wanted their releases in 2000, I know about the Radicalz,Douglas,Kidman and Konnan but who were the others who later decided to stay?

Another good strategy is to sign Players over 30 with good coaching skills, give them a 1 year contract as a Player/Coach and you can use them as backup, you can then send your best Youth/Reserve players out on Loan for experience. Not sure if you've downloaded the patch or not so here's a link to it. CM Patch CM Demo CM Website Edit: Put the demo link up as well.

Can anyone remember Jim Ross using "those Damn Dudleyz" in 2000? Edit: Scott "Flash" Norton in WCW was a bad one as well.

Count yourself lucky, we haven't had a game for 3 weeks! We haven't played since March 19th at Torquay due to our International Call ups.

All the teams in and around the play offs are bottling it, I can't believe we're still in with a slim chance of getting in the top 6.

The Doc's 9-1 to get the first booking tomorrow, as he has 11 yellow cards in 26 games this season I've stuck a tenner on that.

Saw a clip of the NI players doing laps on the news and good old Tom was at the back looking knackered. Edit: Sod's law has hit us as well, we've just sold Kevin Amankwaah to Yeovil for a "Nominal fee" with a sell on clause, 4-5 years ago Arsenal, Leeds and Newcastle were watching him and he'd probably have got us one of our highest ever transfer fees.

I wish the England game wasn't after the transfer deadline, I'd hoped Tommy Doherty would impress for NI and get flogged to some crap Championship team like QPR, Brighton or Plymouth. Edit: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ers/4376963.stm Couldn't you have got someone from a midtable team in the Premiership or Championship?

Heskey is ok as your 3rd choice striker, it was when he was playing on the Left Wing or without Owen that I complained at Eriksson tactics. What annoys me is when people have a go at Heskey(instead of Eriksson) for being picked, It isn't His fault the manager picks him, I know if someone kept playing me in every international match I wouldn't complain about it. Edit: Heskey's England record is actually pretty similar to Peter Beardsley and he was Lineker's partner most of the time without complaint from anybody.

    The Old School questions thread

Tunney did one of his proclamations on Superstars, which was repeated on all the other shows. He said that since the three was counted and the bell rang and the title was awarded to Andre, it was his. But Andre got on the mic said he "surrendered" it to DiBiase. Tunney said that surrendering the title to another wrestler was not permissible (obviously). But surrendering the title (standing down as champ) is totally within the rules. Since Andre surrendered the title, he lost it, so it was held up and Andre became the shortest-reigning WWF champ of all time. It makes sense. BTW, that was all going from memory, so if I got any minute details wrong, forgive me. Thanks for the explanation, I appreciate it. This may seem like a dumb question, but why was Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant not done at WM1 or WM2? WM 1 had the MTV rub and MSG would have sold out easily with any main event. WM 2 needed Hogan at one location, Andre on another and Piper/Mr T/Savage on another. Edit: The Kayfabe reason was that Andre never asked for a Title shot.

Here's a SNME one "If there are sicker men in this sport I love, I don't know who they may be"

When did you start to hate Hogan?

I started disliking him when he was feuding with Undertaker and Sid, I didn't understand what was so "bad" about what Sid did at Royal Rumble 92(Hogan did it to Savage and Warrior) and Undertaker was to cool to hate. Edit: I also like him far better now than I did as a kid having seen some of his Mid 80s stuff on tape which we never got to see over here.
