If we'd have done that in may then we'd be in the Championship, with Forest and Rotherham being so poor we'd be in direct competition with Coventry and Gillingham to stay up. Edit: Pleased to see someone's team doing well.

Bad Things this season Our ex captain can only last 60 minutes before being knackered due to his smoking 20 a day and his love of the Nightlife in bristol(Tommy Doherty), Our best striker has scored 3 in 3 months but plays week in week out(Leroy Lita), Our Best cb is on the transfer list because he's been making no effort since the Play Off final(Danny Coles), The other one is to old(Tony Butler), Butler lost 8 of his teeth during half time against Peterborough We sign a player who plays great during his loan spell but as soon as he gets a 2 year contract he's taking it easy(Tony Dinning) We bring back a player who left in the summer but wasn't good enough for the Championship(Louis Carey) Liam Rosenior is getting 1st team football at Fulham Tinnion has his favourites like Scott Murray who was best man at his wedding. Next year Forest,Rotherham and Gillingham/Plymouth/Coventry will make promotion more difficult. and we have Steven Gillespie at Cheltenham with 4 goals in a month being brought back from his loan to be on the bench. Good Things this season Rovers are doing sod all The new right back Jamie Smith, we got him on a free from Crystal Palace and since october he's been our best player and is the new captain. Steve Brooker, When we paid 150k none rated him but he's turned into a great League 1 Targetman. Luke Wilkshire is a really good Midfielder as long as he's in the centre. The league is so crap that 4 wins in a row and we'll be 4th. Yeovil will go up, maybe it will give us the kick up the ass we need when they beat us Edit: I can remember us beating Portsmouth 1-0 away during Easter in 99 and there were banners with "save the club" visible, the half time draw was about £250 quid and ours was usually 10k, What a difference a couple of years can do, it serves us right for waving 20 pound notes at their players.

Can't see Sherri getting in, the only women who'll get in anytime soon are Cyndi Lauper and Elizabeth.

The tombstone piledriver Danny Davis took at WM 3.

I'm pretty sure Sid's in-ring WWF debut was against Ted DiBiase. He powerbombed him for the win (maybe a house show or something.) The initial plan I believe was a feud with Mr. Perfect. Wasn't his tv debut against Kato? that and the Billy Busick and Colonel Mustafa matches are the only tv matches of note that I can remember during his face run. Edit: Speaking of Sid, does anyone else remember an angle on Superstars where Sid was scheduled to wrestle a jobber in a mask called El Diablo? Undertaker took his place(after Paul Bearer gave him a briefcase) and when Sid had the advantage Diablo ran in attacking Sid and then unmasked as Jake Roberts.

I think if Andre/Hogan hadn't gone ahead then Orndorff would have filled in for Andre, he wasn't injured at the time as he was in the SNME battle royal a few weeks before WM 3. Edit: Kamala was left off the card as well and he was coming off a feud with Hogan that did very well.

So's Julian Joachim, I can remember when him and Dion Dublin were getting 30 goals a season between them in the premier(think it was 98-00) for Villa, I'm surprised he never got an England cap. Edit: Bellamy to Stoke on Loan on the bbc site is the best rumour I've heard in ages, shame it'll never happen, seeing him at the same club as Ade Akinbiyi and Tony Pulis(former manager of ours who lasted 6 months, was chosen ahead of Peter Taylor and who turned down signing Lua-Lua for 250k) would be great.

Wrestlemania 3 also had other matches with crowd heat that you hardly see, Piper/Adonis, Savage/Steamboat,Honky/Roberts and the 6 man tag(Danny Davis mostly) all had a great reaction. Edit: Shame on all of you for forgetting Warrior/Honky at Summerslam 88

But the readers were huge Flair/JCP Fans, they would have hated to see Hogan win the award one year(which in 87 he probably should have)

It's based on Work,Box Office,influence and impact.

Before anyone asks the readers opinion in 83 here's the history of the Subscribers votes, copied off the WON forum on Wrestling Classics.Meltzer's opinion in the 80s usually wasn't that different from the subscribers, He did disagree with the Sabu 2nd place in 94, there was a huge fear that Sabu would win until Kawada pulled through. 1980 Harley Race 1981 Ric Flair 1982 Ric Flair (2) (Runner-Up: Roddy Piper) 1983 Ric Flair (3) (Runner-Up: Hulk Hogan) 1984 Ric Flair (4) (Runner-Up: Dynamite Kid) 1985 Ric Flair (5) (Runner-Up: Riki Choshu) 1986 Ric Flair (6) (Runner-Up: Hulk Hogan) 1987 Riki Choshu (Runner-Up: Ric Flair) 1988 Akira Maeda (Runner-Up: Ric Flair) 1989 Ric Flair (7) (Runner-Up: Akira Maeda) 1990 Ric Flair (8) (Runner-Up: Jushin Liger) 1991 Jumbo Tsuruta (Runner-Up: Ric Flair) 1992 Ric Flair (9) (Runner-Up: Bret Hart) 1993 Vader (Runner-Up: Kenta Kobashi) 1994 Toshiaki Kawada (Runner-Up: Sabu) 1995 Mitsuharu Misawa (Runner-Up: Shawn Michaels) 1996 Kenta Kobashi (Runner-Up: Shawn Michaels) 1997 Mitsuharu Misawa (2) (Runner-Up: Bret Hart) 1998 Steve Austin (Runner-Up: Mitsuharu Misawa) 1999 Mitsuharu Misawa (3) (Runner-Up: Steve Austin) 2000 Triple H (Runner-Up: Toshiaki Kawada) 2001 Keiji Mutoh (Runner-Up: Steve Austin) 2002 Kurt Angle (Runner-Up: Bob Sapp) 2003 Kenta Kobashi (2) (Runner-Up: Kurt Angle)

The Ultimate Warrior's singlet in 92 was awful. Edit: Koko B. Ware's high energy attire was bad as well
-
There's a Savage/Gonzalez match on the 93 year in review tape.
-
How old is Ian Walker? He has to be in his thirties now, you should sell him to a premiership club and buy Stuart Taylor with the money.
-
The Sheffield match is on the UK Rampage 92 tape.

I'd worry about us at home, mate. We've won 7 out of last 8 away games. We just suck at home. RE: today. We're bad at home as well, a couple of 0-0 results, both were awful games which are available on DVD for £7 quid each on the bcfc website Bristol City Clubshop is yours better? Personally the only thing I have is the centenary shirt with the surnames of every player who's had a 1st time match at Ashton gate.

One of the coolest things that no one has mentioned was Randy Savage(face) and Arn Anderson(heel) teaming up to eliminate Shawn Michaels in 89. The Warlord's elimination has to be in the top 3 for shortest time in the ring, he posed on the apron and as soon as he stepped in Hogan clotheslined him out. Edit: From 89 I liked the "Number Swap" that Slick and Dibiase did, it also had a pay off in 1990 with Dibiase getting number 1.

WWF @ Moline, IL - January 12, 1990 Earthquake defeated Paul Roma Tugboat defeated Frenchy Martin Hercules defeated Tom Stone The Bushwhackers defeated Nikolai Volkoff & Boris Zhukov Rick Martel defeated Brutus Beefcake WWF IC Champion the Ultimate Warrior defeated Dino Bravo Not as bad as the one above, but with the deep roster they had this is awful and the only potential ok match is Martel/Beefcake.

What happened in the WWF the day you were born?

Whoa! That's a pretty historic card. Inoki, Fujinami, Choshu and Sakaguchi working MSG. The Hogan-Dibiase match, and I didn't even know the title was vacated between Backlund and Duncum. The Backlund/Duncum thing was due to the Backlund/Inoki Title switch. Edit: Backlund lost the belt to Inoki in Japan, a few days later they had a rematch between Backlund and Inoki, Bob won but WWF "President" Hisashi Shinma reversed the decision on account of Tiger Jeet Singh's interference and gave the title back to Inoki. Inoki refused to accept it that way and it was vacated. The match to fill the vacancy was held in NYC, involved Backlund and Duncum, and was going to be aired in Japan. However, since the fans at MSG had no idea what had happened Japan, they thought it was just a run-of-the-mill title defense. Backlund didn't have the belt in his possession and wasn't announced as the champion in the introductions, which they thought was weird (I believe Shimma actually came out holding the belt), but was nevertheless announced as "still" the champion after he won. So basically, the whole angle was a Japan only deal and the title changes were never officially recognized by the WWF itself until several years back. -

There was no show on my birthday either, there was a tv show on that day though. Championship Wrestling taping: 10/23/82: Superstar Billy Graham defeated Tony Rico at 1:40 Rocky Johnson defeated Johnny Rodz at 3:25 Buddy Rose defeated Victor Mercado at 2:50 Eddie Gilbert defeated Bob Bradley at 3:08 WWF Tag Team Champions Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito defeated Curt Hennig & Barry Hart Don Muraco defeated Jeff Craney at 1:40 Ray Stevens defeated Jerry O at 4:15 WWF IC Champion Pedro Morales defeated Tony Russo No, back then the face champion would often lose to the heel by Count Out or Dq before winning the blowoff to the feud in a gimmick match. Bellomo and Scicluna were on tv nearly every week as jobbers.Hanson had a few shots at the IC title when Morales was champ and had matches with Slaughter and Graham at MSG -
WWF Women's Champion Bull Nakano vs. Alundra Blayze Hakushi vs. 1-2-3 Kid Kama vs. Davey Boy Smith Owen Hart vs. Razor Ramon The Undertaker vs. Bam Bam Bigelow Shawn Michaels vs. Lex Luger Bret Hart vs. Bob Backlund Diesel vs. Jeff Jarrett for the WWF Title

Barry Windham's theme during 91/92 sounded a lot like "La Grange" by ZZ Top.

The others weren't members of Kaientai-DX

The Killer Bees were pretty average, the only thing that stood out was the mask switching thing and Brunzell's dropkick.

Austin did on Raw in 96, he put his foot on the rope during the pin and won a few seconds later with the Stunner after a Jerry Lawler distraction.
