Finished 0-0 and Yakubu was throwing his rattle about for some reason because our defence was a bit to eager to kick him up the arse, he was subbed at half time. Some of us City fans are already trying to think of a chant for the Torquay Home game which involves Helen Chamberlain(who apparently has bedded a few of the Torquay players in recent years) they'll probably get a generous reception though because their manager Leroy Rosenior is a city legend(his son Liam on the other hand left for Fulham when his contract ran out despite saying he'd sign an extension and our compensation was 50 grand) Here's an interesting question for you guys, in the last 5 years name the best and worst things your team has done.I'm looking forward to the Derby reply for worst, I'm guessing it's either sacking Jim Smith or signing Ravanelli. Best: in 2000 when we were skint we refused to save money by taking some funding out of our Youth Academy which cost about Half a million a year. Now we have about 5 local lads in the 1st team picture. Worst: in the 99/00 season it was September and we had high hopes of getting promotion, but our board wouldn't have none of that and sold Ade Akinbiyi for 3 million to Wolves and Jim Brennan to Notts forest for 1.75 million and John Burns(so crap he played 11 games in 2 1/2 years until we finally released the bugger) for reasons mentioned above and yet our board were puzzled when we finished mid table with our goals having dried up. Letting Tony Thorpe's contract expire in 2002 wasn't exactly clever either. Edit: During the Arsenal/river plate match, the commentators were talking about how Van Basten,Stoichkov and Klinsmann are all national managers(makes me feel old as I remember USA 94 when Stoichkov made his reputation in Rurope) despite having never coached before.Could you see that happening here in future? I don't think it would as over here no one is as popular as Klinsmann is in germany or Stoichkov in Bulgaria to get the job without experience. If his management career is succesful I could see maybe Tony Adams getting it due to the lack of contenders in 10-15 years although the press would have a field day with Adams past.

They're probably pissed about signing Peter Crouch for 2 million and the possibility of losing beattie to Spurs(because moving to Tottenham worked really well for Dean Richards didn't it?)

    Tyson KO'd in Round Four

Here's his fight record. Imagine a fighter today trying to have as many fights in their first 2 years as a pro, now it takes about 3 months negotiating a fight. Tyson Fight record Edit: Why did he fight Razor Ruddock 2 times in a row? was there controversy in the 1st fight?

    Tyson KO'd in Round Four

Even if he fights Bob Sapp the money will be far less than it would have been a year ago.

    Tyson KO'd in Round Four

Danny now has it made, he'll forever be known as the guy who ended Mike Tyson's career even though it's been finished for years. Over here he was known as a choker in big matches, our press will conveniently forget that now of course. Edit: I only ordered because there was a good card in the UK before the Tyson fight.

Think of us poor people outside of the premiership ok? Don't worry about the Championship, League 1 is more entertaining(seeing Nick Barmby or Jason Mcateer kicked from one end of Ashton Gate to another will be great) and it doesn't have it's name changed to make it look better

I wish I had Sky Digital instead of telewest, the new highlights show looks great. In case some of you guys haven't heard about it this explains the show Vanhalen was on about and is taken from SkySports.com. "Football First will make its debut on the opening day of the Barclays Premiership season, Saturday August 14. There will be two parts to the programme: · GAME OF THE DAY: On-air at 8.30pm with the full 90 minutes of a match selected from the day's 3pm kick-offs. The decision on the Game of the Day will be made after 5pm on Saturday. · MATCH CHOICE: At 10.15 pm, a choice from extended highlights of every game played that day. Sky digital viewers will be offered a menu of up to eight Premiership games; they can choose to watch their own team or any other featured. Highlights of all games will run for about 50 minutes each. Saturday night’s broadcast of Football First will be followed by a series of repeats of the Match Choice element, shown four times into the night and again at 6am and 7.30am on Sunday. During each showing Sky Sports viewers can select a different match from the full choice, via the interactive menu. " That looks brilliant, even though people would complain if Sky got things like the Olympics or the big International Tournaments(World Cup and Euro's) it would be great to see how sky would use interactive with it. How long before Sky does the same with the other divisions? would save me having to travel to places like Hartlepool and Brighton(their ground was terrible, especially in the rain.Thank god their out of our division) Edit: Anorak, you'll have bucket loads of football to see on sky, even Eurosport has the italian leagues and the U21 tournaments. This weekend their showing the Friendly Tournaments with Arsenal,Newcastle and Man United.

Who will Angle wrestle next week?

I'll say Funaki since Kurt fired him, if Kurt does face Charlie then I can see a Luther attack during Charlie's entrance allowing a very quick Kurt pin.

    WWE Raw V.S. Smackdown!

Those Randy orton and Torrie pics look terrible, on the bright side Kane looks better and so does benoit. Why is Kane a legend? his moves are the same and they could just give him a mask as his 2nd costume Minor thing but Benoit is wearing the WWE Championship in the Raw arena in season mode.Maybe they're including some Raw vs. Smackdown storylines to go with the title of the game.

According to his website he didn't even meet Vince about joining the WWF until December. Percypringle.com

    Favourite Hoss

I voted Bossman but guys like Haku and The Barbarian were good on their day as well. The scary thing about Bossman was that he was good even before he lost all that weight in the early part of 1990. Edit: Vader and Jim Neidhart should be in this list.

The OAO Raw Thread - 7/26/04 - 60 Minute Iron Man

He'll still be in the main event picture after he loses to Orton or whoever else. You don't give a guy a huge push and a strong world title reign to not elevate him to the Main Event picture. Chris Jericho. In 99 DDP had the same treatment after his run bombed.

    Ric Flair agrees with me

They've been in tag's(Uk tour in may 2002) and Triple Threats(in Australia) and in September 2002 they had a low profile match at a house show. Edit: just checked powerslam magazine and the singles match was September 6th and Brock's title was on the line.

Was that the match where the MSP were putting their "careers " up and got squashed?
  15. It was a Week after his "match" with Hogan when he turned on Sting, they were supposed to have a match and instead had a pretty good 10 minute brawl backstage which made people think the halloween havoc match would be great.
  16. His brawl with Sting backstage on a Nitro in September 98 is probably better than 75% of his WCW stuff.
  17. They'll probably have a video package of it instead.
  18. I hope they include the Pre match interviews on the Piper and Perfect(KOTR) matches.
  19. This is taken from Wrestlingobserver.com during WOL and explains the Hakushi and Lafite inclusion if bret had his say in what matches to include. "Bret said he liked taking guys who he thought were better than anyone thought, like Hakushi or Jean Pierre Lafite, and going in there and showing everyone that his opponent was a good worker and a good hand. " Edit: The 1st World title win is also missing.
  20. I guess the Hakushi and Jean Pierre-Lafitte matches are there because Bret asked, Wrestlemania 13 is a surprising omission but they can save that for an Austin dvd. Edit: probably be the first time many will see the Bret/undertaker One Night Only match.

    Cool/Historic Stuff You've Seen Live

I can't remember any storylines he was in and quite frankly I don't think he was in any. He seemed to be heading towards a feud with the flock but he just jobbed to Raven(I think that was his first loss) and Saturn a few times and then jobbed to Chris Jericho in a 1 minute match on Nitro which ended any chance of a push.

    The Undertaker's managers

BTW, in Kayfabe how would Brother Love have controlled The Undertaker? I could understand Paul Bearer controlling him but Brother Love's character was completely different.

    TSM Official Fantasy Football League

I'm hoping that Charlton,Fulham and Bolton do well this season and I need Yakubu,Ferdinand and Phillips to score at least 10 each this year. Here's my players picked, i would have had Cech in goal but guessing Chelsea's team is dangerous. GK Shay Given Maik Taylor DF Kenny Cunningham Gareth Southgate Jay-Lloyd Samuel Wayne Bridge Moritz Volz MF Gareth Barry Kevin Nolan Matthew Holland Gary Speed Robbie Savage Forwards Yakubu Les Ferdinand Kevin phillips Edit: Wish there was one for the Championship, that would be good as the teams are more equal to each other.

Beating Clevedon 9-1 is much tougher than beating a bunch of Norweigan amateurs Not to mention stuffing Yeovil 3-0 away. We've 2 games in 2 days at Forest green(local club who Loan and buy youngsters from us) and on Friday we can stuff Portsmouth, interestingly in 2000 we could have bought Lua Lua for £250,000 from Colchester but we decided not to and bought Tony Thorpe instead. Paul Heffernan has scored 4 goals in 3 games, not bad for £150,000. We also have Alun Armstrong(ex Stockport,Middlesbrough and Ipswich) on trial, he has a good career record when fit. He's been a sub mostly at his last 2 clubs but I remember him as a youngster in Stockports 96/97 team that reached the Coca Cola Cup quarter final with Dave Jones as manager and Paul Jones in goal and he was real good then.
