Lansdown's confirmed at the AGM that there are plans to move to a new 30,000 ground in 2011/2012, we're hoping for a World Cup game in 2018 if we win the bid.

Deserved win for Croatia, They outplayed us and their technique is on another level to ours. That Modric is a classy player, you can see why Arsene Wenger wants him in his team.
-
Good point yesterday but the real story is Liam Fontaine getting the goal. http://www.bcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,1...1159426,00.html

Got our most comfortable win of the season over a typical clueless Pulis side, they had one decent player in Fuller and the rest were 6 footers who lumped the ball up front.
-
3rd win on the bounce, Stoke on Saturday and the return of one Tony Pulis whos 6 months in charge seemed like 5 years, at one point we drew 6 home games in a row. He has to go down as the most despised manager we've ever had.

Another great performance, Sproule's starting to cross better which is a scary thought, Murray and Trundle come on as subs and seal it for us. John Hartson must be feeling stupid right now, good job it was only Bristol City at home in his debut and not Watford or Sheff Utd away.

There's a "no transfers in first window" option which SI have kept quiet about, the closing down bug really spoils my tactics so all I've really done so far is look for Wonderkids and players tagged as "the next Hoddle/Adriano/Henry"

What have we done under Mclaren to suggest we can beat one of the best young sides in Europe? Hiddink's a good tactician, watch them scrape a 1-0 win. Israel took 15 points from 5 games against Andorra,Estonia and Macedonia which isn't difficult, against the big 3 it's 2 draws from 5 games
-
If Israel take points off Russia we still have to beat Croatia and with their form that isn't happening at the moment The World Class myth has to stop as well, if you compare sides I'd take 97 over 07 any day of the week.

I think at International level it only works with a Makelele type in a 3-5-2 or 4-5-1, England have played 4-4-2 since Hoddle left and any time it's changed the manager gets slaughtered. We had a similar problem with David Noble and Lee Johnson being too similar, took about 6 months for us to play a 4-4-1-1 with Noble behind the striker and we've lost 1 in 15 with it.

http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2007/10/...teven_gerr.html David Pleat compares Frank Lampard and Gareth Barry.
-
Tonight was our best performance since the 3-0 at Oldham, with David Noble back we can play the 4-4-1-1 which suits us, Darren Byfield has been a surprise hit up front, he's got his personal life sorted and really shouldn't have been playing League 1 football for 3 years. Sheff Utd were awful(no surprise with Robson in charge), can't believe James Beattie has got so many goals this season, was poor against Carey and once McCombe came on he gave up.
-
Not really, Man Utd were a better side without Van Nistelrooy last season. Watching Arsenal It's obvious that Fabregas is now allowed to shoot from long range instead of looking to pass to Henry, adding Flamini and Sagna has added the toughness they lacked as well.
-
Took quite a while to get used to the new skin, I like the Budget options and being able to change the size of your pitch. Shame the City data's so weird, Basso,Elliott,Byfield and Orr as back ups and Vasko as Indispensable?
-
8 games unbeaten and a 3rd away clean sheet in a row, Byfield is a class above any forward we've got(including Trundle) Kevin Betsy did another good job as a commentator on the Radio, it's arguably the best thing he's done since he signed for us.
-
Demo's out sometime on Sunday, guess the game will be out by the end of October. http://fm08.footballmanager.net/en/article/100/1650.html A bit more information on the transfer system from the FM blog, you can sign Brazilian U18s on pre-contracts now which I'm sure I'll use a few times a season.

The team were superb again tonight, they lacked the quality that WBA had but we've spent a quarter of what they have on their players, hard work and more hard work will see us finish around mid table hopefully. We have nothing to fear if thats the best the championship has to offer, as long as we stay injury free.

Our away match with Watford on Dec 1st is going to be televised. Johnson was a pundit for their game the other day and snuck into the post match press conference, he asked Ade Boothroyd what he thought of us.
-
Coventry 0-3 Bristol City McIndoe 15 Konstantopoulos o.g. 74 Byfield 90 I love this League
-
That Scotland goal tonight reminded me of the Ireland winner against Italy at USA 94. Edit: Phil Neville is now 1 cap behind Peter Beardsley and Des Walker.
-
I remember Lockwood as a young player at the Gas, very attacking left back which you didn't see much of then and was very similar to our left back Darren Barnard. Ian Holloway released him because he wanted £500 a week.
-
He's signed some proven League 1 players in Adam Boyd, Wayne Gray, Paul Terry and Sean Thornton and it's obviously made the players from last year raise their game. If Boyd and Gray stay fit I can see them in the playoffs at the end of the season.
-
According to Ian Holloway's new autobiography, the reason his Rovers side collapsed at the end of the 99/2000 season(failing to even make the playoffs despite being 4 points at the top with 10 games left) was because Peter Beadle(ex Rovers) told Jamie Cureton and Jason Roberts how much he was earning hear making them decide to leave the club.
