Why the hell is Paul Rodriguez so low? Why are Wanda Sykes and Cedric are ahead him? Rodriguez is top 30 material, but it seems the top 30 is reservered for stand ups who became actors.

It was a good read, my only problem is the Flair - Shawn - HHH love triangle. I still remember that promo last year when Shawn said he "took the torch" from Ric Flair in the 90's (despite only wrestling him one time in 92). I am also reminded of the promo where Shawn says he carried the WWE in the 90's untill HHH took it and carried it to the present. That one stunned me to because I seem to remember some other wrestlers named Bret Hart, Steve Austin, and The Rock. I guess I better get used to it because that seems to be the way that WWE history will be taught to future audiences. Remember, Shawn and HHH have a 10 year feud.

There is nothing wrong with cheering people from your area. I was always a big Rey Misterio supporter because we grew up in the same neighborhood and went to the same high school. He has put San Diego in a good light. It still freaks me out that white kids in the mid west carry signs and have shirts that say 619. Wearing a shirt that says 619 usually means something gang related in my old neighborhood.

I'll be ordering to see Benoit retain his title. I am also looking foward to hearing Michaels get booed. I love the WM main event because the crowd turned on Michaels again and that always brings a smile to my face. I can't wait to hear the Edmanton crowd to call for his blood.

As we all know Smackdown has become the WWE B show. If you look at both Raw and Smackdown it seems as if that is the intention. Lets face it, Raw holds a special place in the McMahon family heart and will probably never let Smackdown become the better show. That itself is a problem because Smackdown should be the show that most effort is put into. It is the show on network television (UPN barely makes the cut) and is seen in more homes than Raw. In a perfect world equal effort would be put into both shows but this is not the case. Every week JR refers to Raw as the flagship program of the WWE and Booker T refers to Smackdown as the minor league. On joint PPV’s the WWE puts more emphasis on Raw matches. The World title is constantly referred to as “the richest prize in the game” and is put ahead of the WWE title. Smackdown at it’s current state does not even compete with Raw in terms of quality of writing. On Raw you have established stars like HHH, Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit, Mick Foley (for now), and The Rock (when he comes by once a year). They have a returning Edge and newer stars like Randy Orton, Shelton Benjamin, and even Johnny Nitro who they seem to have big plans for. Smackdown needs big changes and when Judgment Day bombs maybe they will make those changes. For now, I am going to evaluate their roster to see what exactly can be done with the show. Eddy Guerrero - The champion of Smackdown and the one carrying it on his back. As stated before by many people the problem is not him, it is his lack of challengers. He needs to stay champion until October where he would drop it (most likely to Kurt Angle). Eddy would recapture it at Royal Rumble then face HHH at wrestlemania 21 or put over John Cena at the show, but I‘m getting way ahead of myself. John Cena - The US champion and future main eventer. Cena still needs time to improve in the ring so keep him in the US title picture for the rest of the year. His current feud with Dupree is fine for now. After Rene I would suggest a feud with a reinvented Charlie Haas. The Undertaker - The newly turned Deadman Taker has few options. They never should have made him a Deadman again. Feed him Big Show (since Show will always be credible) and then feed him Bradshaw. I would suggest building up an Eddy Guerrero/Undertaker WWE title match at Summerslam to co main event with a Chris Benoit/Edge World title match. The only problem is that an Eddy/Taker match would be so much better if it was MMA Biker Taker. Kurt Angle - He can not wrestle right now so there is not much you can do with him except keep him the GM. When he does return put him in a few short programs to build him up for Eddy. Booker T - I know a lot of people like Booker T but I can not see him in a long main event program. His match with RVD should be saved for Judgment Day after that I would put him in a feud with Cena for the US title. Rob Van Dam - Not much for RVD to do right now, but I would put him in the cruiserweight division and let him compete in there as the top star so Rey can get a break from competing in that division. Charlie Haas - Haas needs to be repackaged with an Excellence of Execution gimmick. Have him become Kurt’s right hand man and have him win the US title from Cena later on in the year. Big Show - He will be gone for awhile due to surgery. Feed him to Taker before his surgery and when he returns he will be his angry giant self. Have him go after Eddy and build off the fact Big Show destroyed Eddy last year and took his US title. Chavo Guerrero - I can see Chavo being a big part at Judgment Day. As I said in another thread, have Chavo face Eddy at the PPV in a Hell in the Cell match. Some people might say that Chavo should not main event but 10 years ago Owen challenged Bret for the title in a Cage match at Summerslam. Rey Mysterio - His time as the top contender in the cruiserweight division should be put on hold. He needs to move away from the division and compete in the tag team division. Team him up with Paul London and they will be the first part of a revitalized tag team division. Rene Dupree - He needs to be a top contender for the US title. He has a good look, he has improved in the ring, and has great little dance. Bradshaw - He should be nowhere near a main event. Have him face Eddy on a Smackdown and get it over with so Eddy can face Chavo, who at least has a long history with Eddy. Bradshaw can wrestle Holly and then be fed to Taker. Mark Jindrak - It is obvious the WWE wants to push him hard. The problem with him is that he is very bland and I can not think of anything to spice him up. Maybe he should shorten his name to Jindrak and take on a Batista like character. Paul London - I still say he got screwed when Spanky left. It has left him with nothing to do for the past few months. He should team with Mysterio and really build up there chase for the titles. Billy Kidman - Have him become jealous of Mysterio and London ‘s success and chase after them. Have him “hire” Akio as his tag team partner and they will be the second part of a revitalized tag team division. Dudley Boys, Too Cool, & The Bashams - They need to continue their role and round out the tag team division. Jaime Noble, Ultimo Dragon, Shannon Moore, Nunzio, & Spike Dudley - They will round out the cruiserweight division. Build the division around Rob Van Dam and Ultimo Dragon as the top faces. Noble and Chavo will be the top heels. Billy Gunn, Hardcore Holly, Rico, Orlando Jordan, Funaki, Johnny Stamboli, & Sakoda - Two words … Velocity Duty What do you guys think? What should be done to help improve Smackdown?
-
I never said Benoit/Edge was official. I said I would go that way. It would be face vs face with Benoit droping the title to Edge. Summerslam is most likely going to be in Toronto so they will both be faces.
-
He is announced at 220 and he has to be somewhere close to 210 realistically. The point of having Van Dam in the CW division is to give it star power while Rey competes in the tag team division.

John Cena Speaks On Brock, His CD, Hip-Hop, More
Hektik replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
Eddy had steady ratings from the his chase to the month after he won the title and the week after Wrestlemania. The Brock/Eddy match with a dismal undercard got more buys then Armageddon with HHH, Goldberg, and Shawn Michaels. Ratings began to drop when JBL started to get involved with Eddy. Cena gets loud pops but Pops DO NOT equal ratings. Road Dogg, Val Venis, Godfather, and JYD all used to get loud pops too, but that does not mean the TV audience wants to go out of there way to see them. Cena is going to learn how to work a proper match if he is going to get to the top. He needs to work on his transitions and learn to keep the crowd because he does lose them if the match goes longer than 5 minutes. He needs to watch tapes from Hogan and Austin to see how wrestlers with limited move sets work a match. He is still to young and inexperienced to carry a whole brand on his back. -
But mid 90s Eddy is better than anyone in the US now or then. I might even go as far as the 80's. I see Eddy, at the present time, as someone who can not carry limited workers. This PPV already seems like a throw away so they might as well throw a good match as a main event. Have Eddy face Chavo one last time. They could make it a Hell in a Cell and get a few extra buys for people wanting to see the gimmick.

From wrestlingobserver.com Smackdown spoilers from San Antonio by Nick Warmack Kid Rock- Lonely Road of Faith video. Crowd popped big for Hogan & Warrior and HUGE for the Road Warriors. DARK MATCH- Matt Cappotelli b. Sho Funaki- Very solid opener. Nothing spectacular, but good work by both guys and Matt showed some potential. He got the win the the rollup and then both shook hands and hugged postmatch. Josh and Bill are out, so here comes... VELOCITY- Doug Basham (w/o Danny) b. Paul London- London was grounded for most of the match, so no spectacular moves. Only thing remotely special was the dropsault. Finish saw Doug his reverse fameasser kinda thing. I was disappointed b/c I was really looking forward to seeing London live. Nunzio b. Rey, Akio & Kidman in a Fatal 4-Way to become #1 contender for the Cruiserweight Belt. By far best match of the night. Rey came out a pretty big pop. Way too many cool spots to mention with Akio looking very strong. No botched spots although Akio had Kidman on the ropes and hit a WICKED chop to the chest. Then Kidman reversed hit his own that was so weak is was pathetic. Some comedy from Nuzio who snuck in to pin Kidman to the shock and bewilderment of all. Mr Ass & Hardcore Holly b. Laydown Skeevers & Jobber McGee aka Eddy Craven & Russell Simpson. You're standard match from Billy & Bob. At one point Holly had Crimpson in the corner and hit some chops that paled in comparison to Akio's. Alabama Slam for the win. Afterward both guys went over and talked trash to Josh w/Holly paintbrushing him a little. Then we got to see Bob's ass and Billy do some stripper moves on the ropes. Nobody needed to see that. Good Velocity. People need to see the 4-Way and I wait with baited breath for DeMott's Turning Point. Ring change. Out comes Rue looking hot to sing America the Beautiful. Nice, but no Lillian. Taz & Mitchell out. Backstage video with Rue & John Bradshaw Leyfeild for some quick heat. Says he's from Texas, but NYC is his new home. Then he says something that'll for damn sure piss off San Antonians...the Spurs only won the Championship b/c Rick Fox was injured. SMACKDOWN!- Recap of the Angle Great American Award series from last week. Tonight--RVD/Booker vs Charlie Haas & Big Show. JBL out in his limo to HYOOGE heat. Same basic thing he's been saying. Talks about his $1000 hat. Offers $1000 to any fan that can wax the hood of his limo in 60 secs. Pulls a fan out the crowd wearing the Scarface/Latino Heat shirt. "Enrique" (Bradshaw says he should change it to Ricky) is almost done with 10 sec to spare when JBL squirts more wax on the hood. Needless to say JBL is not Ted Dibiasse so the money stayed with him. Dudley Boys b. Scotty/Rikishi (non-title)- I missed alot of this b/c my friend I were debating how to repackage the Worm & the Ass. Scotty goes for the W.O.R.M., D-Von says nope, 3D for the pin, I'm happy. Dudleys look like they want the titles. Angle with Charlie backstage. I don't remeber much, but I know I enjoyed it. Chavos Jr & Sr on the big screen for more quick heat. Chavito says the Spurs will lose to the Lakers in the playoffs. Lakers Suck & Go Spurs Go chants insue. I love this town. Chavo (w/ Sr) b. Jamie Noble. Good match, but quick. Chavo gets the pin using the ropes. I just don't get the Chavo/Nunzio match. Theodore Long talks to Shannon Moore, Orlando Jordan & Spike in the back. Says he wants to rep somebody with the body of a guy like OJ...Playa's Card. The face of Shannon...Playa's card. And the complete opposite of Spike. This leads to Spike challenging Teddy to a match later. Booker & RVD talk in the back. RVD says the were RAW tag champs. Wants to know why Booker is acting the way he is. Booker says this is the SMACKDOWN Booker, not the RAW Booker. RVD says they can still be best buddies and can win the SD Tag Titles. Booker say aight, but I somehow don't believe him. John Cena b. Danny Basham (w/Doug) non-title. Danny changed his tights since Velocity and now he and his brother are wearing purple velvet looking ones. Cena comes out the by far the biggest pop of the night in a George Gervin throwback. Damn good rap tonight. Solid match. My friend and argued through it what kind of man you have to be to wear purple velvet tights. Bashams tried to pull a switch, but Cena had none of it. FU for the pin. Haas/Show b. Basically just RVD, but Booker was there. Rob worked the entire match as Booker was always away from the corner so tag could be made. Book eventually just said enough of this and headed up the ramp motioning for Rob to follow. Rob stayed. Haas was in most of time. Show came in to choke slam RVD and Charlie got the pin. In a "moments ago" moment, Booker came back down to the ring, looked at Rob & left again. Rob looked pissed. T-Shirt guy is out. Big pop when the crowd thinks he is shooting Cena baseball tees. Heat when they realize they're getting Brock leftovers. RVD is bacstage with Kurt. Kurt denies knowing anything about Booker's unscupulous plan. Says we'll get Booker vs RVD next week. Rene Dupre (w/Fifi) b. Orlando "No offense" Jordan- Some heat for Rene and "The Dance". Kurt is backstage preparing the trophy for the ceremony when Eddy comes in. Some very funny stuff here ending with Kurt giving Eddy the night off and to "Get out of my office, get out of the building, get out of the city". Crowd was not happy. Teddy Long (in sparring gear) is out to face Spike (with no shirt). Teddy says Spike needs a warmup. Out comes the Bull. Beats on Spike for a while. At one point I swear he trhew him 15 feet in the air to then slam him down on the mat. Of course Spike takes a licking and then hits the Acid Drop for the pin. Mark Jindrak runs in and massacres Spike with his new finisher. Teddy lays a couple of boots to Spike and then jumps in Jindrak's arms. I guess he's the new member of the Playa's Club. Ring crew out with the red carpet and trophy under a veil for the Award Ceremony. Angle out. YOU SUCK!, then WHAT?!s galore (Damn you Steve Austin). Cena out to another huge pop. Haas out. Booker out to many boos. Show out. JBL out to much less heat than before. Kurt announces that Cena won the audience poll (on the creen the showed him with like 200,000+ more votes than anybody else) and so he is the...JBL say wait. He shows a video from last night of him at "the border". Talks about illegal Mexicans coming into the US and tuining the economy, healthcare, the welfare system & taxes for all of us hardworking Americans. He says he'll put a stop to. He shines a light on a bunch of "illegal" immigrants (including Rudy Boy Gonzales) and "chases" them back to Mexico. Kurt loves this and awards the trophy & #1 contendership to JBL. He thens unveils the trophy to reveal that Eddy has stolen the trophy and replaced it with a trophy of his own design with a picture of himself...good stuff. Angle & John call out Eddy, knowing of course that he didn't leave. Eddy comes out in a lowider with the trophy on its hood. Big pop, but not as big as Cena's whcih surprised me. He walks to the ring and threatens to smash the trophy on JBL's limo. Angle says if he does that he'll be stripped of the title. He gets in the ring, talks a little, breaks one of the wings off the eagle, hits JBL in the gut with trophy & then clears the ring of both guys. He gets a chair from the timekeeper's table and threatens to smash the trophy with it. Kurt tells him he better not, but of course he does. I think this is were the show will end. Kurt goes to the back, Bradshaw takes of his coat and he & Eddy have a small in the ring. Eddy kicks him out, then chases him to the back. 10 seconds later Booker back out and heads to the ring with Brian Hebner. He talks about all his championships (which are pretty damn impressive) and talks about being desrespected by all the SD guys when he arrived. He calls out any SD guy. I'd read about all the house shows, but I'd never seen the Undertaker live so what happened next was pretty awesome. 'Taker comes out with a loooooooong PPV style entrance. Once in the ring Booker talks trash for a few minutes. Then he hits Taker with 6 punches, Taker goes for the Chokeslam, Booker kicks him to get out of it, runs at Taker, Tombstone for the 1-2-3. Crowd went home failry happy. Sorry for the long report, but I think that was all of it. Overall a good show that I think should holdup on TV thursday. Biggest Pops- Cena Eddy (fairly close second) Rey T-Shirt Guy Most Heat- JBL Kurt T-Shirt Guy after the Brock shirts were discovered

Fox Sports Net works like a broadcast network. There are regional affiliates that show local programming, but there are also shows that are shown nationaly at a specific time. The Best Damn Sports Show is an example of a nationaly broadcast show on Fox Sports Net. TNA, if the deal goes through, would be a nationaly broadcast show on Fox Sports. I don't even think there will be a problem of pre-emption because it would be shown on Sunday Night (I think at 9 or 10).

From the Wrestling Observer Newsletter: The talked about plan at this point, if the Fox Sports Net deal comes through, would be to tape every Thursday night in Orlando for a Sunday night airing. They would move to Sunday monthly PPV Shows at $29.95 and the weekly PPV shows would be dropped. For the full timers, with one PPV and four TV's, they'd be getting more dates and thus more money. If it's cut back to taping two shows at once, they'd be doing three dates per month, which is the same as the current situation. Jeff Jarrett had a meeting with talent and told them they need to dress and look like stars. Jarrett and Dutch Mantell were told by the intermediaries of the hoped for Fox Sports Net deal that if the guys on the show look like they should be fans in the crowd, that they won't last past two weeks, and Jarrett and Mantell took that to heart. Jarrett told them that they are working on a TV deal, it isn't done, and that they weren't going to talk about it untill it was. Raven then got up and basically reiterated what Jarrett said, since he's cinstantly pushed guys to develop unique characters and change their looks. When he was done, B.G. James said, something like "Thanks for your input," in a very sarcastic way which made some people laugh. While everyone knows there is truth too what they are saying, the complaint is that Raven and Jarrett are probably the highest paid guys not working for WWE right now so it's easy for them to say spend a lot of money on your costuming.

Obviously this a scene reminiscent of Somalia. I debated wether or not to post this but I guess I will go ahead. Here is the link to the pictures of this happening http://boards.billmaher.com/showflat.php?C...sb=5&o=&fpart=1

The first wrestling I saw was actually a live show. My Dad took me to a wrestling show in Tijuana when I was 8. That was back in 1987. Ever since then I was hooked on wrestling. I began watching Lucha Libre, the old NWA, and then WWF. It's funny that so many people here credit Hogan for hooking them on wrestling. When I was a kid I couldn't stand him. If anything he kept me away from really getting into the WWF at the time.

When I read that this morning I couldn't stop laughing. It's the whole image of him doing that and then saying that phrase after he's done.

I have done research before on wrestling world titles in the past and technically the WCW title was renamed the World Heavyweight Championship in November 2001. The Rock was champion and he lost it to Chris Jericho before unifying it with the WWE title. Since the title was renamed before unification it also holds the history of the WCW championship. But that only goes back to September 1991. People will say that since it was unified the history goes in the WWE title and can not be pulled out. To people who say that I point out Boxing titles were they are constantly being unified and pulled apart if a boxer does not fight a certain boxer. In this case Lesnar did not face HHH who was the #1 contender, so the world title is pulled out of his undisputed title. Since HHH is the #1 contender he automaticaly becomes champion.

Why is the word Gay being used as an insult?

http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/TV/03/18/trump.fired.reut/ It looks like Vince is going to need a new catch phrase. Maybe Trump will allow Vince to use it since they seem to be "good friends."

The Rock says he'd consider politics WASHINGTON (AP) — Could there be another President Johnson in the White House one day? The Rock isn't ruling out that possibility. The action star and former professional wrestler, whose real name is Dwayne Johnson, spoke at both the Democratic and Republican conventions in 2000 to encourage people to register to vote. When AP Radio asked whether he'd like to enter politics himself, he said: "Possibly, you never know. Maybe one day. Absolutely. ... I talked to Arnold (Schwarzenegger) about that, too. "We'll see. One day, maybe President Johnson," he added with a laugh. The Rock's new movie, Walking Tall, opens April 2. It's inspired by the 1973 original about real-life Tennessee Sheriff Buford Pusser. Not really hard evidence but interesting that he is considering everything except wrestling.

I will admit that I have a little bias towards Brock because he could put on great matches. I said before all this broke out that he would be the best wrestler in WWE in a year or 2. It dissapoints me that I won't be able to see a rematch between him and Guerrero or my dream match of him and Benoit in a 35 minute PPV match.

Wrestlemania at the brand new Petco Park We have great weather for an outdoor event, even in March.
