I have came to the conclusion that the WWE will never let Smackdown surpass Raw. If Smackdown were to get really hot the WWE will try to find a way to cool it down. By that I mean switch the hottest wrestlers to Raw. To this day the WWE still considers Raw the A show. Even Ross will still comment on how Raw is the flagship program of the WWE, even though there are supposed to be equal. A good amount of the time in the WWE goes to Raw, while Smackdown is treated like the bastard child. In a few months time Chris Benoit, John Cena, and a returning Edge will all be on Raw. The only good I see in this is that Benoit and Guerrero both have a chance at becoming World Champions at the same time. The only downside is we won't be able to see them wrestle each other as world champions.

A good amount of the time in the WWE goes to Raw, while Smackdown is treated like the bastard child. If the WWE would put more time working on Smackdown they would better. They will do better because they have more talented wrestlers who are fresh. Just the very fact that HHH, Shawn Michaels, and Goldberg are the top contenders for the World title shows the sorry state of Raw. Think about it, you have Triple H who has proven he can not draw without Rock or Foley. Shawn Michaels who was never a draw. Then Goldberg who can only draw for short periods before becoming stale. It all comes down to the WWE, but unfourtunetly they want to focus on a show full of washed up wrestlers then a show full of talent that is ready to shine.

Who the hell cares what the name of the Stadium is. Just appreciate the fact Padre fans have a new stadium. K. Possibly because Yankee Stadium is what it is and I could go back to it, but even if someone built the Yankees the Rolls of Stadiums and named it "Petco" or "Minute Maid" I'd MUCH rather go back to the old place. "I'm gonna go see a game a 'The Pet'" Fuck that. I have actually heard that local San Diego media is going to nickname Petco Park the "Litter box."

Scott Keith gave HHH/HBK ****3/4
Hektik replied to TheOriginalOrangeGoblin's topic in The WWE Folder
Your name makes this one of the most ironic statements I've ever read.... That is really funny, you try to discredit me by attacking my internet name. Yet, you have no idea why I use that name or why I spell it that way. -

Why would Shawn be able to draw? He was never a draw in his past so why would he be one today. A WM 20 ME would be the worst since Shawn and Nash. Luckily for me I am not a HBK mark. I have never been one. One of my least favorite times in wrestling was 96-early 97 when Shawn was being shoved down my throat and having to hear how "KeWL HBK WaZ." Now, with all that said I have still been able to look at his matches objectionally. In his prime he was had great timing and was a good bumper. From 1992 to March 1996 he was the hardest working wrestler in the company. Wether he was doing a house show or a PPV he gave it 100% The problem with his marks today is that they do not realize it is no longer pre 1996. Shawn is just a shell of his former self. He puts on one above average performance and all of sudden it is 5 star match. The match itself was a good performance and Shawn did put up the effort. But there was no MARK OUT moments for me. Well, I did get pissed when I thought Shawn won the title. But then I realized that the WWE was not that stupid to give the title to an aging balding cripple who still dances around acts like he is a sexy boy. -
Eddie Guerrero vs Chris Benoit from 96. Does anyone have the exact date for this match?
-
I always thought Tito Ortiz would make a great addition to the WWE. He is a natural heel and could be the second comming of Kurt Angle. With proper training I think he could have good matches with Benoit, Angle, Lesnar, Guerrero, and maybe even modern day MMA Biker Taker.

Yeah, he loves animals. Look, I do not really have a stance on animal rights as it is something that I do not look into. I am coming in defense of Maher because I like him and agree with a lot of his views. The only thing I know about PETA is that they are against cruelty to animals and hold a lot of protests. With all that said, can somebody give me a straight answer on why they hate PETA and why they would be referred to as terrorists? Someone posted info about PETA, forget my questions about them.

I can not believe all the hate for Bill Maher. Doesn't anybody know that he was just trying to be funny. It is called politically incorrect humor. I think Maher is a very funny man and share his views on many issues. You shouldn't just label him as a left wing nut. For those who do, I suggest you read his book When You Ride Alone You Ride With Bin Laden after reading it you will see he is a liberal who loves the United States and has many interesting ideas to improve it.

This list is bias towards Lucha. I am not talking about Rey Misterio jr and Juventud Guerrera. I am talking about Rey Bucanero and Ultimo Guerrero. Their Stable "Los Guerreros del Inferno" is the best Mexican stable since "Los Gringo Locos." Hell, in my opinion Rey Bucanero is one of the top 3 wrestlers in the world. I like Misterio but this has not been one of his better years. As for Juventud, I do not exactly know what Juventud has done this year to be on this list. It is nice to see that there are token British wrestlers on the list but not LGI. On a final note, Eddie should be higher than Kurt.

Shawn Michaels has main evented 2 Wrestlemanias, WM 12 and WM 14. Wrestlemania 11 was main evented by Lawrence Taylor/Bam Bam Bigelow.

Eddie would more than likely take out Haas. My perpetual rule of thumb: in a fight, never bet on the white guy. I think you mean "Never bet on the Euromutt American". Eddie's white too. He is?!?!?!? Pardon my disbelief, but I've never seen a picture of his parents, and can only go on the perpetuated "myth" of his Hispanic/Mexican/whatever origins. Not sure what you mean by "white" but all of Eddie's family hails from Chihuahua, Mexico. All of Eddie's brothers and sisters were born in Mexico. He was the first to be born in America. El Paso, Texas to be exact. Eddie's Father, Gori Guerrero, spent some time in the US when he was younger. He worked as a translator in Los Angeles before he got into wrestling. He could have very easily married a white woman and have mixed children.

Eddie Guerrero went to the University of New Mexico on a wrestling scholarship. Even Kurt said the only two in the WWE that can match amauteur skills with him (besides Brock) are Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero.

Otsuka stoked to be with Padres Dec. 10, 2003 SportsLine.com wire reports SAN DIEGO -- Nearly seven years after getting dragged through the Hideki Irabu fiasco, the San Diego Padres found a Japanese pitcher who actually wants to play for them. The Padres introduced right-handed reliever Akinori Otsuka on Wednesday, a day after he signed a two-year deal that will pay slightly less than $2 million. Unlike Irabu, who refused to negotiate with San Diego after it obtained his negotiating rights in early 1997, Otsuka was ecstatic to join the Padres. He beamed when he was handed a blue No. 16 jersey, then said in English: "Today, my dream finally came true. Let's go Padres! I feel good." Otsuka chose No. 16 because it was the number his idol, Hideo Nomo, wore after signing with Los Angeles Dodgers in 1995. Otsuka, 31, went 1-3 with 17 saves and a 2.09 ERA in 51 relief appearances for the Chunichi Dragons of the Japanese Central League last season. Since 2002, he has walked only eight batters and struck out 110 while holding batters to a .175 average. In seven seasons, he went 14-23 with 137 saves and a 2.39 ERA. He pitched his first six seasons with the Kintetsu Buffaloes. Akinori Otsuka joins Rod Beck and Trevor Hoffman in a strong Padres bullpen.(AP) Now all the Padres have to do is get Greg Maddux and they could very well dominate a weakening NL West.

(marks out) You weren't the only one my friend. And having that and Fertig's (probable) dark match debut in the same thread is one of the greatest things ever. It is good to see I made your day.

I went to the show today and it was a pretty average Smackdown. Here is what I remember. Dark Matches Jaimie Noble beat Psicosis 2 indy wrestlers beat 2 other indy wrestlers Velocity FBI beat Paul London and Spanky Ultimo Dragon Beat indy wrestler Orlando Jordan beat Kanyon Smackdown Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar cut promo dissing San Diego. Brock said he would get everyone deported. This Brought out Rey Mysterio and chalenged Brock to a match later that night. Rhyno beat Bradshaw Cat danced around and Sable dissed him Shanon Moore beat A train after match Big Show and Matt Morgan attack A train. Big Show and John Cena battle rap each other. After Battle Rap Cena kicks Big Show in the nuts. Los Guerreros faced the WGTT. Didn't get ending because I got an important call on my cell phone. Chris Benoit does interview backstage where he say he dosen't know if he will ever get another shot at the title. Brock Lesnar beat Rey Mysterio with the same submission move he used on Benoit. After match Lesnar attacks Mysterio and Holly makes the save. Rey and Holly celebrate with who I believe was Tito Ortiz. End of Show I know I am forgeting some other parts but these were the most important ones.

This is my rant about the missed opportunity that was Eddie Guerrero. It was just a few months ago that Eddie was the most over guy on Smackdown. The best part was that he was getting over by himself. It was his wrestling skills and charisma that got him over. In typical WWE fashion they went against the audience and tried to turn him heel. It did not work, the crowd loved him too much to accept it. The WWE had no choice but to keep him as a face. They pushed him as a singles wrestler and became the first WWE United States Champion. Chavo came back from an injury and Eddie pulled double duty as US and Tag Team champion. It looked like he was starting to become the main focus of the show. On at least two occasions, Smackdown could have been called the Eddie Guerrero show. He then started his feud with the Big Show, which was the Beginning of the end. Big Show is the last step before entering the main event scene. It looked like that was where Eddie was going but it was not to be. He lost to Show but it could have been a blessing. The US title was off him and he wasn’t destroyed by the Big Show. The only reason he lost was because Show brutally attacked by him a few days earlier. Now all they had to do was get the tag belt off of him, but the WWE does what is always does and mess things up. Eddie did lose the tag belts but HE was pinned by a Basham. Logic would have Chavo lose the belts and Eddie goes on to bigger things. We all know where this goes, Eddie and Chavo feud with the Bashams and are now going to feud with each other in the mid-card. The worse part about it is that the WWE are dragging this pointless feud out. It seems they want this match to happen at No Way Out or Wrestlemania. My point is that Eddie could be doing so much more. I can not think of a reason why Eddie would be dropped down the card. He was getting the loudest pops and the WWE did nothing about it. John Cena strarts getting Eddie size pops and he is pushed in the World title picture. Eddie could have been huge by now but the WWE put an end to it. Eddie could have been the first latino World Champion and the first latino WWE champion since Pedro Morales in the 70s. I do not think he is a total lost cause, but it is going to take some work to get him back to where he was. So what do you guys think? Is he a lost cause or can he be re-established? Do you see him as a future World Champion or do you see him as a “mid-card handyman” (Jim Ross’s Quote)

I posted this thread in another forum and somebody brought up that IF Chris Benoit wins the world title and IF he holds it for at least 3 months, Eddie would get a shot do to their long time rivalry. The only problem is that there are too many ifs in that scenario.

I think it will be held in the American Base. My guess is that they will build a make shift stadium like the one for Wrestlemania 9.

If he isn't willing to return for friggin' WM20, regardless of whether his opponent is a regular or "special" player in the business, then he obviously has lost his loyalty to it. He should job to a young guy and leave, and McMahon has every right to hang the "The Rock" moniker over his head on this one. How fucking stupid. He bought the rights to 'The Rock' name off Vince a while ago... a few million I believe. I believe the deal is that Dwayne Johnson owns the rights to the name "The Rock" but Vince McMahon get an Executive Producer credit in everyone of his movies from now until he dies.

I am pretty sure Eddie is american. Even if he was born in Mexico he has lived inthe US for almost all of his life. He could have taken a citizenship test after living here ten years.
