I don't know what creationists have to do with this conversation, since I don't think anyone here is actually endorsing creationism. -

I wouldn't say that. Maybe God's teachings if you turn on God may seem different than Jesus' teachings, but that's it. -

The way people act has nothing to do with what the Bible is saying. Anyone can manipulate what's going on and make it seem like they're following the Bible, but at the day of Judgment they'll get their due. Just because you're a high ranking official, doesn't mean everything you do is right just because you say that you're doing right according to the Bible. Or just because the church says so. The Church is a bad example because they've been manipulating things to their advantage for centuries. -

True, but we all fail at it to some degree. The question is, where's the line? That's for God to decide . -

The idea is though that if you accept Christ, you intend to do good. Because why would you accept someone and do the total opposite of what he wanted you to do? -

And you're assuming that omniscience entails that there can't be free will. You're argument doesn't stand because omniscience says you know, not choose for. There's a difference between knowing and choosing for. oldskool, heaven wouldn't be reserved for those who do evil because they had the choice to do good. God's gift to us was to have the power to choose. And would you like a God who makes all our decisions or allow us to do what's right? If he God chooses good for us, we'd all be angels, and that ain't that good. -

Omniscience would entail that God has all the knowledge. No where in the definition does it say that choices are pre-determined. Which is why free will still takes place. Let me use an example. If I know this guy who comes to work everyday, and I say tomorrow that he will come to work, and he does come to work, does that mean i'm Omniscient? You could use that as an example of someone knowing something yet not doing the action, or pre-determining the action for them. The guy still had free will. -

Omniscient isn't directly correlated with free will. He knows that we have choices, and it's up to us to make the right choice. Think of it as different worlds. Each choice you make is a different world with a God who is omniscient. Lets say you choose between going home or going to your next class. He knows that you have a choice of either one, and when you make the choice, lets say you go to class, it's a different world than going home, and when you make the choice he knows that you're going to class. Just because God knows what's going to happen, doesn't mean he's choosing for you. -

Of course he's omnipotent. But that doesn't entail he's evil because he allows evil to take place. What makes us better than angels (yes, I know you don't believe in angel) is that we are allowed to make decisions. Angels are naturally good, and we naturally have the choice to choose good which makes us better. When he gives us the choice to do good, it comes with the possibility of doing evil. Think of it as free will. I mean think about it. How would he separate the good people from the bad people if he's choosing for them? And how will there be good in the world if there is nothing for the good to do to prove themselves good if there is no evil? -

You can't disprove the truths either. If we're going into an existence of God argument here, there's a bunch of arguments for and against it. -

She should get Dr. Crane. -
Maybe trading Marion for Jason Kidd wouldn't be the worse idea if that's the case.

It's like that game in Candystand. Bullpen Blast.

LOL! Stewart breaks it up with 2 outs in the 9th. Shades of Everett against Mussina!

Man, 3 outs away and he got Scutaro out. He may do it.

"If Schilling has a 1-2-3 inning, he'll only be 3 outs away from a no-no."

Curt Schilling has a no-hitter. No-hitter. No-hitter. No-hitter. No-hitter. No-hitter.

Yet those teams that you mentioned still loss, so obviously you have to blame those outcomes on injury. And I really thought that Phoenix would beat Dallas last year. With Amare, there's no doubt they would've beaten them. IIRC, the Suns lead going into the 4th in Game 6 and just fell apart because they only play like 6 guys a game. It's time to add depth to the team.

He looks like a fusion of Mark Buehrle and Kurt Russell.

Uh no. And most great philosophers ascribe to the idea of God. You're making an appeal to authority. You're not good at this, you should let Seyss or Conspiracy Victim carry the load here. Any argument involving the existence of God comes from someone who studied the subject matter for a good part of their life. I didn't come up with the cosmological, or ontological argument. In this case, an appeal to authority is necessary. If you want, i'll tell you exactly which argument from what philosopher I think makes most sense. Well there was a bunch of incest going on. -

The Bible is the word of God, according to you. I know that the statement is factually incorrect, and that the bible was written by man, but I tried to be nice about it. No you don't. You saying something is fact or not doesn't mean anything. And YPOV, what does it matter if he believes in that? I do agree with you that policies shouldn't be based around it, although there are far worse things to base policies around. -

Believing in God is half the battle (there's only one), and that's good enough for me. And no it isn't a fact. The Bible is the word of God.
