Do you ever root for the teams you support?
-
Ah. Three plays stick out to me from the Jet/Pats game. 1) Obviously the tipped pass for a fumble. 2) On 3rd and 8th I think it was, around midfield, after the Jets took the lead, they had Brady, well Vilma did, and he just ran right past him going for the ball, and didn't get the sack. Later on they ended up tying the game at 10. 3) This is more of a bunch of plays where Rhodes, Barrett and Miller had shots at INTs, and two of them might have been a clear path to the endzone, but they couldn't get the ball. I know it's not much of a surprise to much people that the Jets lost, but it still hurts, especially seeing Belichek celebrating like they won the Super Bowl followed by hugging Mangini as if he would've done the same had they lost the game. But I like the way the Jets played, till the final few minutes of the game.

The Nick Saban stuff reminds me of that Simpsons episode with that guy from jail. "Marge, look into my eyes. I did not burn Mr. Skinner's car."
-
I got the Cowboys. Eh. I'd figure that if your team was in the playoffs or a contender, you'd obviously get that team.
-
The Bobcats are tough though. I know their record doesn't show it but they're in most games they play.
-
Inconsistency, and youth. They've been picking it up lately though, and have a nice chemistry working.

You will want to know who Channing Frye and David Lee are. They should be the frontcourt of not only now but also the future (along with Curry).

David Lee goes before Nocioni.

You don't know what you've already been missing man. A triple OT game over the Pistons, a double OT game that ended with a .1 Lee tip in, a OT game that ended with a Marbury layup..you don't even know.

I think it's unfair to say that the Red Sox starting pitching would be dominant if everything works out, and the Yankee rotation would be average if everything works out. That's a little bias, especially when we have more depth. And Hughes might come up as early as July. He's starting the season at triple A. Also, I like the Marlin pitching staff. Willis, Johnson, Olsen, and Sanchez can easily be the best foursome in the league.
-
Yeah, but who would be the five starters? Mussina/Wang/Pettite/Igawa/Pavano is not exactly a bunch I would like to break camp with if I'm trying to compete in the AL East. Nate Silver indicated yesterday that PECOTA still projects RJ to be their #1 starter. His peripherals suggested he was more of a 4.00 ERA guy and not the 5.00 that we got. Of course, we know nothing of the severity of his back surgery, or how his age will continue to affect his decline (without any historical comps, we know nothing of his trajectory), but replacing 200 innings of above average pitching is difficult in this league. It could spiral into a Bronso Arroyo 2006 situation where the entire pitching staff cascades because they can't find anyone to fill the innings in a quality fashion. And before you say Philip Hughes, yes I know he's a special talent, but he's never thrown a pitch above AA. He's still a wild card. The first three i'm pretty comfortable with, and i'm sure Pavano has been healthy since September but that car stuff got him in trouble. The true wild card is Igawa. We also have Rasner and Karstens who atleast showed that they can keep us in the game. And after that, yeah, Hughes, along with Clippard. Both dominated double A, and a lot of pitchers have made the transition from double A to the majors without many problems. They are going to start the season at triple A anyway, so we'll know then if they are ready.

Maybe the Mets will go after him. I don't think the Yankees really wanted Zito. And now that Zito is a Giant, maybe Arizona, and San Diego will go after Johnson even more. We'd still have five starters if we trade him.
-
Zito a San Francisco Giant for 7 years, 126 Million (ESPN Radio).

The Knicks won't be denied. That was the best all around perfomance of the year, except for allowing so many offensive boards, and missing free throws. The score was pretty high, but both offensives were out of control. Hamilton hit shots like I haven't seen in a while, he seriously was on fire. I know he had 51, and it's easy to see that he was able to hit shots, but he hit jumper after jumper like crazy. Marbury has a great game taking it to the hole, Crawford has a great passing game and took over in the 3rd OT after Marbury fouled out on a horrible call where Hamilton flopped (then he had the audacity to complain later on), Curry had a great scoring game, Lee is usual rebounding game, Frye scored as well, and hit some big ass shots, including the game tying buzzer beater in the 2nd OT, Balkman played some good D, and actually would've had the game winning steal in the 2nd OT but Billups threw himself to the ground after Balkman stole it and they called a foul on Balkman; good thing Billups missed the first FT though. Man, that was the most uncomfortable win, and in a good way though, because I thought they lost like three different times. Good stuff.
-
No that was a foul. Vince was trying to go around him, and Sheed knocked off his route, so that'd be a foul.
-
Yeah, that's usually the case. I hope you're right.
-
I hope that deal isn't finalized. Gonzalez is young, a lefty, and is a good reliever, but he was hurt at the end of last year, and I really like Melky. I don't like the idea of trading a future possible starter on the team for a reliever.
-
naiwf, join the bandwagon. The Knicks are bringing it.
-
They asked A-Rod if he wanted to come here and he said he'd move to 3rd to come here. Jeter didn't force him to do shit.
-
1. Yes 2. Yes 3. No 4. No 6. No

Predict the next funnyman to go "serious"...
Brett Favre replied to Jonathon's topic in Television & Film
I thought the question meant serious for good, as Sandler and Anderson are still making funny movies. I know what they've done. -
I haven't watched SNL in a while, and I just saw Cock in a Box, and that shit is the funniest shit i've seen in a while. The steps on how to get it done, and Timberlake in different outfits was hilarious.
