I didn't say he was going to be back to superstar form, although I never said he wouldn't either. Either way, he adds depth. You're also jumping the gun with him. He had a decent game in 12 minutes, and in the preseason he wasn't horrible. I doubt you come out 100% out of the gate from surgery.

They do have a deeper team this year. That only helps because you only had like 6 guys playing throughout the playoffs last year. Atleast this year, they'll also have Amare, and KT, along with Marcus Banks and Jumaine Jones.

They've made it to the conference finals back to back years.

The Yankees only had two above-average starters last year. I'd rather have Jeff Suppan every fifth day than trotting out Sidney Ponson, Shawn Chacon or Kris Wilson and seeing if they don't suck today. Yeah, but 40 million, 10 million a year for a fifth starter?

I don't really want him. Good postseason pitcher, but just a barely above average pitcher.

    1) They'll save the money anyway. Like you said, they are billions over the cap; what difference does it make if they save it after last year, or after this year? Either way at the end of the year about 60 million is coming off the cap (Rose, Taylor, Houston, Anderson, Williams, I think that's it). We'll be around the $75-80 million cap mark. Sure, we'd still be 30 million or so over the cap, but you gotta start somewhere I guess, and making sure we don't add anymore by cutting Taylor and Rose weren't horrible moves. 2) Balkman was going to be picked by the Suns, and I didn't like the pick either, but the way he's played in the preseason, it's looking like a good pick. 3) Roy already explained why the trade wasn't bad at the time, and I didn't mind the Francis trade because we gave up nothing in return for a star player. Chances are, we won't be under the cap till Marbury's contract runs out, and thats the same year Francis' runs out, so it's not a horrible move to see if they can work together. If can't, Francis doesn't have horrible value either. 4) Hinsight is 20/20. At the time the Knicks were a 13th to 16th pick in the draft, especially with Larry at the helm, so it didn't seem like a bad move at all to trade for a 22 year old who's 7 foot tall, and has a productive low post game. He hasn't even hit his prime yet, so I don't see this 14 and 7 stuff for live. 5) I didn't like the Balkman pick at the time. I didn't like the Taylor trade or the Jeffries signing (although this team desperately needs defense). But the reason overall as to why I don't mind the moves too much that Isiah is making is because he's acquiring players at or before hitting their prime. Yes, we could have just scrapped it all out when he came in as GM and rebuild, but what's done is done. Atleast we have Curry, Frye, Crawford, Richardson, Robinson, Lee, Balkman, Collins, and Jeffries all at 25 years of age or younger. No one on the team is 30 years old, and that atleast is an accomplishment. Whether you hate me for thinking that way or what, I don't give a shit. Really, It's not like I haven't tried rationalizing the moves somewhat, and even when I do you go back to the "IF YOU LIKE ISIAH SO MUCH WHY DONT YOU MARRY HIM!" argument. So whatever.

It's not your fucking money since you aren't going to the games, so why the hell would you care? If the money is what's bothering you, than maybe you like Dolan a hell of a lot more than I do (not that I like him, but still). How are they morons for cutting a guy they don't need? One of the guys they have replacing him is a guy they got in the draft that came with him, so it wasn't a lose lose situation. All the trade was doing is delaying the expiring contract, while adding a draft pick. I'm glad they cut him so I don't hear your ass complaining coming mid February on how the Knicks might trade his expiring contract for fucking Zach Randolph or some shit like that.

And you're still a retard because I just explained to you why it wasn't a bad move, and you still don't get it. He wasn't going to fucking play. Jalen Rose Was Not Going To Play. JALEN ROSE = NOT PLAYING THIS SEASON JALEN ROSE = BEHIND Q-Rich, Jeffries, and now Balkman JALEN ROSE = Expiring contract, so it's not like he had 5 years left. nawif: Oh my! CW you silly bastard! You think the Knicks are the greatest! "I wasn't going to be in the fucking rotation."

Here's another thing you guys are misunderstanding. JALEN ROSE DID NOT TAKE MINUTES AWAY FROM DAVID LEE AND NATE ROBINSON. In fact, when he came, Lee gained minutes, and with Marbury and Francis going down, so did Nate Robinson. So PLEASE, get your shit straight. And yes they did lose money or what not, but that's not a concern on the court. Really, who gives a shit.

Ah, I missed basketball season. There's nothing better than seeing Isiah do something crazy and then having CW on here within minutes to defend it. But seriously, what does he lost by cutting him? Atleast by cutting him it gets rid of any urges to trade him away for Darius Miles or some other player with a big ass contract. Or am I wrong in thinking that? He's not going to play anyway. He lost millions of dollars in Rose's salary and minutes for the rookies last year. You defended the trade at the time because Rose was an upgrade and you thought the guys like Lee and Nate would still play. As I said it would turn out, all they did was lose out because Rose played 30+ minutes per night last year and they ended up cutting him anyway. Only an idiot ends up paying a year and a half of a monster salary for a draft pick all while giving up someone who came off of the books at the end of last season. In simplest terms they took on salary last year, they owe Rose his money this year, they lost developmental time last year for guys who needed it and they have NOTHING to show for it right now. How the hell is preventing someone from making a 3rd shitty move bring praised as a good move? Like I said before, he didn't take time away from them. The numbers even proved this, but once again you ignore them. Secondly, they got a draft pick out of the trade, and this is a new year. He's not going to be in the rotation, so what's the point of keeping him? Would you rather have Balkman or Rose taking up minutes this year? Not to mention that you signed Jared Jeffries. Yes, last year we could have used him, but that's what it was, last year. We have two new players at the SF position, so there is no need for Jalen Rose. And alf, like I said, Rose can't defend for shit. I mean seriously, he doesn't do anything on the defensive end of the court. Richardson defends, and rebounds well from his position, and it's not like he's going to be our starter for the rest of the year.

The last thing we need is another offensive weapon. Richardson is twenty times the defender Rose is.

They made that trade for Larry's weird outbursts and because they got a pick out of it. There's no point in keeping Rose when he won't play. Plus this insures us that we won't trade him for another big contract. Isiah can't win these days.

They won't announce them till the playoffs are over because some guy did horrible in the World Series after being named MVP. I forgot who it was though.
  17. Speaking of that, 7 champs in 7 years. Even the NFL is stunned.

I'm glad Rolen and Edmonds have rings. Same with Pujols. Weaver was a dumbass for us, but I'm also happy for him. Congrats to all of them; to me they were pretty fun to watch.

The relievers have made some crucial errors, but the Cards have had timely hitting. The Tiger defense hasn't been good though. Team with less mistakes is coming out on top.

Cold weather, to me atleast, makes playoff baseball more intense. Just something about the players wearing long sleeves, freezing their asses off. It may not be prettier baseball, but it does have that big game feel.
