The Suns aren't any closer to the title than they were a few months ago. They are a top 5 team with the ability to win it all, but they haven't done anything this offseason that has set them apart from the rest of the contenders. They got Amare back, and seeing them making it to the Western Conference finals without him last year, getting him back should be a boost. They also added depth with Banks and Jones.

Even so, you need shooters. You can set up for great shots and everything, but LeBron, 'Melo, and Wade aren't spot up shooters. I expect to see Redd, Hamilton, Gordon, Morrison, those types of players on the team in two years. You need guys who are known for shooting; LeBron, and Melo and those types aren't 3 point shooters. Yes they can make threes, but it's not something they specialize in. Those guys do (well Hamilton this past year).

The Jet defense is good, including backups. They just traded for CJ Mosley, who can help out Robertson at NT. But the offense isn't very good. The RBs are average or below average; I don't know who's going to start at RB since no RB starter has been named; could be Barlow, Houston, Blalock, or Washington, who knows. At QB, Ramsey and Clemens will get most if not all of the snaps; Pennington will sit out. It could go either way really. Who ever scores a TD first will probably win.

Homeless man's Shawn Marion (Bill Simmons).

Does anyone have ESPN Insider? The Chien-Ming Wang article, by Rob Neyer looks interesting.
-
Jose Reyes ain't a bad choice either.

Jerome from Manhattan calls during Jody MacDonald's show on ESPN Radio. He called a few days ago.
-
Usually he follows up 2 walks with 2 strikeouts, but today was no good.
-
Villone and Proctor have indestructable arms. I don't know what you're talking about.
-
Villone has pitched in like every single game since the all-star break..but I rather use him for this game than Proctor. We seriously have no one else.
-
Cory Lidle has been nice for us; except the two starts vs. the Angels. And Jaret Wright usually gets out of 5 innings with like a run or two, even with 21 walks, and 198 pitches a game.
-
If it wasn't Torre, it was probably Bowa. Or maybe Bruney on his own; cool. Would have been even more interesting if Farnsworth threw it.
-
I agree, Adam Morrison must be on the team. In 2 years he will be.

The thing that messes up Beltran's run at MVP is Reyes, Wright, and Delgado, compared to Pujol's Rolen. Beltran has more protection with Delgado and Wright batting behind him. But either one as MVP is fine.

Lily and Gibbons? You serious? Gibbons is an ass.

I wasn't going to post till the Yankees lost a game, and i'm glad they didn't. What a series..

Vitamin X: In my eyes, you're assuming that the same thing will happen to Venezuela that happened to Cuba, but I disagree. Yes, he is good friends with Castro, but what's happening in Venezuela is pretty different than in Cuba. Theres more free speech now than there was before. There was the rich people who owned all the TV stations, and then there's Chavez' people who are trying to change that. You can't have a country that only caters to the rich, and that is what Chavez is trying to change. When he came into office, 80% of the people were living at or even below poverty. "However, income is distributed unevenly, and approximately 80 percent of the population live at or below the poverty line." The rest of that long ass article, written in 2000 - http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/hrrpt/1999/405.htm. I also saw a documentary that mentioned this when he came into office. I guess we should just agree to disagree on what will happen. You think they'll go extreme and just become a total communist country, while I think they'll keep it in between and stay as a socialist country. We'll just have to see.

Chris Webber only has 2 years left on his contract, so if a deal is available, you gotta make it. They actually almost had a deal, but Billy King wanted a 1st rounder, and Isiah said no. It would have been Malik Rose, Mo Taylor, and the 1st rounder. I'd give them the first rounder if they take Jerome James as well. Since Webber makes 20 a year, I think it matches.

Well, 10-7 after this game. He's been an on-base machine.

Trading with the US wasn't doing anything for Latin America. The US plants their business's there, and the country gets poorer each and every day. How can a country that was 80% poor be doing good? Sure it was peaceful, but that's because the US had it's shit all over it, because as soon as someone stood up to them (Chavez), suddenly they are marked as anti-american. How can Chavez like America when they were taking their natural resources for basically nothing, while the rich get richer and the poor get poorer? Is that the type of peaceful country you want, one that has a HUGE gap in income? Fuck that. That's a horrible government, and it's something that's slowly happening here as well.

He got the job done because we got the win. That's good enough for me.
-
He's a Met fan though--he doesn't count.

Yes on the outside corner of the right handed hitter's batter's box. Well for Jeter it'd be the left.

He finished 3rd in MVP Voting in 1998, and didn't have as good a season as this year. He should be considered. It'd be stupid not to consider him.
