    The NFL Offseason/Pre-Draft Thread

Yeah I remember Seattle specifically, and I think the Padres too, not too sure, with big ass logos on their jerseys. Throwbacks are the "it" wear right now.

Wasn't it a few years ago MLB using throw-forwards? I don't remember if it was that or throwbacks.

Another tear rolls down George Steinbrenner's cheek. Base Loaded, 1 out, and we come up with 1 run. What the hell are we, the Oakland A's?

I'd trade Nick Johnson for what we thought was Pre-2004 and current Javy 100 times over again.

Well, explain Vazquez sucking ass last year, and pitching like a CY Young Award winner this year.

Biggest overreaction to an insignificant problem?

These little kids (11, 12?) caught a football that me and my friends were playing with. I took the football away from 'em, and they just started to annoy us as they were going home. Then they taunted us from their window, so my friend pissed on his apartment door. I always tend to scream the rules of whatever just happened in a sports game (in my favor of course) like if it were something serious. I'm a sore loser.

    Straight Edge is EVIL!

Atleast it isn't the other way around. Imagine masses of teenagers beating on Straight Edgers, raping them, and forcing them to drink alcohol.

    The Biggest Angle Ever

First of all, are you going to finish this? Because this has made my day. I thought there was another part on the 2nd page of this thread. Secondly, I skimmed through the history being revised part, but does Kane play a part in any of this? I didn't see his name. Taker costing Austin that match against Kane (First Blood Match) can be him doing it purposely to kill Austin's steam (although he won it back the next night). Third, was Mick Foley mentioned? He could play a huge role, although I have no idea how right now. Last thing on Cena. Cena was gaining a shitload of popularity before he ran into Taker and lost his match against him at Vengeance, then he got depushed. When Cena recieved his World Title push, Taker was being bothered by Randy Orton, and also ended up injured(Taker). JBL wasn't strong enough to take him on his own, I guess. Man, so far this is a masterpiece. Yeah it would definitely confuse marks, but who gives a shit, they ain't reading it anyway.

Is Smackdown better than Raw right now?

HHH bores the shit out of me; he doesn't compare with JBL. It's arguable on the Benoit/Benjamin stuff. I myself find Rey to be probably the best worker in the company in terms of making the match as exciting as possible. He and JBL have had great matches with each other, and Eddie is a given. While Benjamin has been champ for 9 months, not one thing has happened during his title reign that makes me want to say "damn, i'll never forget this title run". He's bland as fuck, stumbles on the mic, and never gets anything to work with. The crwod doesn't give a shit about him, till he wrestles, and it's not like he gets 15-20 minute matches. Benoit nice and all, but it's not fun to watch him anymore when he was supposed to be some Main Event star. HHH loses to Benoit, but HHH is still on top. Christian is going to SD! anyway, and as popular as he is (not as popular as people on this board make him out to be though), he still doesn't get anytime during the show. When he does, he jobs.

Is Smackdown better than Raw right now?

If you don't care for the excitement, what does it matter that it was taped 2 days earlier? Atleast when you don't read spoilers, if you try hard, maybe a little bit, it feels like it's happening right now. Almost. Crap is better when you don't know what's going to happen. I find the suspense entertaining.

Is Smackdown better than Raw right now?

I think it is. RAW does entertain you more than SD! doesn't it? It's probably the other way around, since you do like RAW better. I never said the show was great, but it's still better than RAW. It would probably be better than RAW for you if you didn't read the spoilers. Really, a show is more entertaining when you don't know what's going to happen.

The show is a little better when you DON'T read the spoilers.

Is Smackdown better than Raw right now?

Smackdown! been better for the past 20 months or so. I mean really, the title goes from HBK to HHH, from Goldberg back to HHH, Um Benoit to Orton, back to HHH, and it's eventually going back to HHH, probably as soon as in a few weeks. On the other side you have the belt going from Angle to Brock to Eddie, to JBL, to Cena, it's pretty simple to understand. Maybe neither show is good, but RAW is far worse. And i'm not a big fan of the unintentional comedy provided by Snitsky and Viscera. I can't stand Snitsky. Did Lita side with him yesterday? I don't even know. Benjamin is a good wrestler, but he's still boring as fuck and has absolutely no character. Benoit is back in the mid-card, along with Christian who jobs every week. Batista is a suckass Champ who's only over because he's feuding with HHH. It's the same shit every year, HHH loses the title at Mania, and some how gets it back. JR and King are the worst announcers in the history of western civilization. Too one sided for the faces, and everytime Muhammed Hassan comes out, the annoying ass "USA" chants start. On Smackdown! Tazz and Cole are infinitely better than the King and JR. Tazz is the best commentator in the company, and Cole actually calls a match. Maybe the storylines suck ass, but there's always someone new, and something new happening. JBL and Cena is still entertaining for the crowd. Neither of them come out and bore the shit out of the crowd, or get buried and make each other look bad. Eddie and Rey is a nice storyline, and yeah, they'll probably become best buds later on, but you'll have to take what they give you, because usually, it's not good anyway. This is. Orlando Jordan is a nice little heel, leading the Cabinet when JBL is not around. Angle and Booker have storylines unlike Benjamin and Christian. Carlito has his cabana, and MNM is something new. The tag titles don't even exist on RAW, and the Crusierweight division isn't totally bad with London as champ. Basically, RAW hasn't changed a single bit for the last like 2 years. It's the same HHH cycle, with everyone else roaming without anything to do. Smackdown shuffles Main Eventers, and keeps everyone fresh. Even if it's bad, it ain't old.

Brutal lost. Like it's been said before; when the Yankees lose, they lose.

They weren't exactly gold glovers (well Jeter was) last year either, and it's practically the same team.

But don't you think the Yankees have earned that double standard? It's like if the Devil Rays were up 8 games, do you honestly believe they would hold up? The Yankees have won 7 straight division titles; I think they deserve that double standard. Same thing goes for the Braves when they were down last year too.

That's an insult. "Feces slept with Lita"

Well, obviously if the Yankees keep winning 90% of their games, they'll take the division. However, as Al pointed out, a lot of their recent streak had to do with the schedule. (6 games each against Seattle and Oakland.) In addition, their aging pitching staff is much more likely to break down over the grind of the season than Baltimore's is. I'm not saying that the Yankees are incapable of winning the AL East, or that the Orioles have it locked up. I'm just saying that Baltimore looks like the best team in the division right now, and are on pace to get to 100 wins without much trouble. Until they do something to suggest otherwise, I think they should be given some respect as the frontrunners in the division. With the way things are going, we're taking the division. A month ago you said we had absolutely no chance, stated that only the Blue Jays and Sox pose a threat to the Orioles, and now your toned has changed to maybe the Yankees will win the division? Can't wait to see what you say on June 28. You keep asking me to respect the Orioles, but the way you just dissed the Yankees a month ago, I don't see why I should. As far as our pitching staff breaking down, Randy seems to be re-gaining velocity, Mussina is better than he was a month ago, Pavano is 29, Brown is pitching better than he was a month ago, Wang is like 24, and Wright is 28. So uh, I don't see it happening.

Sorry Cub fans. The Yankees schedule is getting better each week. After this series, they go up against KC, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Minnesota, Chicago (NL) and the Mets. Out of those, St. Lous is really the only team i'd be worried about.
