Would Randy Johnson be cool with that? Eh, he probably will. Anything to get the fuck out of Arizona. So a Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina, David Wells, and Jon Lieber starting rotation with: SS: Derek Jeter 3B: Alex Rodriguez RF: Gary Sheffield LF: Hideki Matsui CF: Carlos Beltran DH: Bernie Williams 1B: Jason Giambi C: Jorge Posada 2B: Miguel Cairo I really don't see anyone taking Jason Giambi.
-
Well, Pedro going home to Daddy? Do you think it's going to happen?
-
Who would you rather have? Clement, Pavano, Morris, Pedro, Clemens, Kevin Brown!?
-
Whoops. Lieber should be there. And RJ, Mussina, Milton, Wells, and Lieber isn't exactly dead weight. Unless you want Pedro or the Rocket, this is it. You're going to have to live with it.
-
We got there with Mussina, Lieber, Brown, Vazquez, Halsey, Loaiza, El Duque, Contreras and Sturtze. Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina, Eric Milton, David Wells, and Loaiza/El Duque can't be that bad.
-
Milton is above average, according to his postseason record. Kevin Brown was suppose to be atleast as good as David Wells, but like Wells he's old, and he's breaking down. I don't want to see Wells leave the game because of his back again. All i'm saying is Wells should be the 3rd option in searching for a pitcher at best. Randy Johnson is clear cut number one, and someone like Milton or Pavano (has pitched under pressure as well) should be number two. It's not like Jeff Weaver and Vazquez who had only pitched for bad teams before the Yankees.
-
Wells isn't going to pitch for 5 more years though. Although I wouldn't mind having him on the team, he shouldn't be the next guy you get after Randy Johnson.
-
Or it could be like the Super Bowl. With this year both teams playing each game in New York. I hope Bud didn't take that seriously.
-
Milton has pitched very well in big games before. Weaver and Vazquez hadn't before the years in pinstripes. If Wells is available, I guess.
-
Who else is out there though? Milton could fill the void.
-
He didn't pitch bad at all in last year's NLCS. Weaver did in this year's. Of course if Pavano's available, and wants to come to NY, you'd take him first in a heartbeat. But either one of them, or Eric Milton. Milton ain't bad either.
-
Kind of a weak pitching group there. Beltran is a must. I take Johnson and maybe Ryan as well. There's really no one else out there. Unless you want Matt Morris. I'd live with Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina, Matt Clement, John Lieber, and a 5th starter, who I have no idea who it would be. Possibly El Duque or Loaiza. El Duque did express interest in returning. If he's healthy, why not? Then again, if he's healthy.
-
He was kind of full coming from Texas. Next year, he'll be hungry though. Barely ate anything this year.
-
Odds are the Yanks will be in the thick of things again next year. With Randy Johnson, Barry Zito, Eric Milton, even Billy Wagner or BJ Ryan, Carl Pavano or Matt Clement, and Carlos Beltran being talked about, I expect them to make some of those moves.

The Cubs are Booker T in the WWE. Oh so close one year.
-
The Braves are definitely Chris Jericho. Always make it close to the Main Event, or actually does Main Event, and got lucky once. The Red Sox would be Eddie Guerrero? Year after year they bust their ass, only to come up short, until this year, when they finally break through. And like Eddie, they have a little circus act to them. The Yanks are Taker I guess. We usually take care of the jobbers, and have had a dominant run, but have lost to Brock Lesnar (Angels) and the D-Backs(?). Or would the Marlins be Lesnar?
-
It's like being a jobber who got lucky once.
-
I'm devastated. But i'll get over it as soon as we win a title. Which I hope will be in the near future. But one title out of 13 pretty much kills the point of making the playoffs in the first place. Kind of like a jobber.
-
Yeah I was pretty stunned too. But just think for a second how bad it is to make the playoffs each and every year and only come out of it with only one title. It's not like the NBA where there are 8 teams, but only 4. It was bound to happen sometime (the 3-0 blown series).
-
I think this weekend's collapse is equivalent to everything the Braves could've possibly done wrong in the past fourteen years. 1 Championship in 13 or whatever years is far worse. Really. The Yanks 4 in 8 is so much better.
-
WHERE THE FUCK WAS DUQUE? Were we saving him for Game Eight? I actually thought the same. Heck, I would rather have had Moose on 4 hours rest than Vazquez.
-
I never thought I'd wish Loaiza at that spot rather than Vazquez.
-
Mussina, Randy, Lieber, Vazquez, Clement will probably be next year's starting 5.
-
What the hell did Cairo and Bernie do wrong? What the hell did Cairo do right? Bernie did a decent enough job, I suppose. Cairo started a bunch of rallies, that ended up not being rallies because Jeter, A-Rod, and Shef couldn't drive him in.
-
Mussina's staying put as well.
