That, i'm not sure of. I just heard it on the Yankee game yesterday. Jim Kaat said they'd probably draw it out of a hat or something. Should be 1 RBI for each player on the lineup.

All over from 2004, which sucks. The thing I like about Madden is that you can change Franchises any year you wish, but oh well.

Chad Pennington 97? My god.

This is just another case of ESPN writing a complete hitpiece on someone they don't like and disguising it as a movie. Sort of like the Joe Swanson story in Family Guy.

1 run for each inning. Just how it is.

Dang. I got fired by the New York Jets in year 2014. I was 10-6, made it all the way to the Superbowl, lost 26-17, in a thrilling Super Bowl, but got fired because I didn't win my division. Buffalo did, same team I beat in the AFC Championship 14-13 with a punt return for a TD in the early 4th or 3rd quarter, can't remember. It was heartbreaking though, getting fired. They just make you start over with another Franchise. I ended up with only 1 superbowl win, one superbowl lost, and 2 AFC Championships.

The Lakers do it all the time. So do the Kings, Nets, a shitload of other teams. Just because there are a lot of superstars that "seem" selfish, doesn't mean that they are selfish. Have you watched games from the 70's and 80's? You'd see the player get the ball to a superstar and have him take a contested jumper most of the time going up the court. There were a few instances were coaches like Red Auerbach (sp?) and Red Holzman (sp?) that used a triangle offense or more of a motion way of getting the ball around. But the reason why points have declined is because back then they DID do iso plays and just took a jumper within 6 seconds into the shot clock. We do have the best players sure. But not by a wide margin. The US took it's game to the world after the 92 Olympics, and since then they've been playing basketball as much, if not more than us. They have stars AS big as us. Just because they don't come to the NBA, doesn't mean that they suck. There are huge leagues in FIBA, and the just because we are American, we should kick anyones ass mentality is moronic. If you even watched the Olympics, you'd see that they did play team ball, and that Argentina was just the better team. After all, they've played with each other much more often. And No, the FIBA argument isn't bunk. The three point lines are shorter, making it more difficult to step back and take a three since it's closer. There are no defensive 3 second violations which just lets one of your mean camp out in the paint if you are playing a zone. There's no offensive goaltending, something that if the US had had a feeling of in the beginning, would have had more points. The fouls are obviously called differently since Tim Duncan looked clueless out there. The quarters are shorter allowing even the worse team to steal a victory. You only get 2 timeouts per half. I mean, there are differences. It's stupid to say that these are minor when in the NBA they teach you to play one way, and once you're use to it, if you play sports in life, it's hard to unadjust from it.

People see more flashiness, and feel that the game is worse. I disagree. While style may not be the best way to do things, it's sometimes still not clashing with the substance. Just because someone goes for a dunk, doesn't mean they are bad players. People feel that the Olympics were a great example of how bad the NBA is today. Wrong. We played their rules. I'm 100% sure that the games would be much different if it were played NBA rules. Remember, they are taught to play one way of basketball, NBA rules, not FIBA rules, and there are a lot of differences.

That's always been the case. From Wilt Chamberlin to MJ to Kobe Bryant.

Stephon Marbury has a higher assist to turnover ratio than both Sam Cassell and Baron Davis. Just had to get it out. Great discussion though, and I agree with everything. People say why points per game have gone down, well it's simple. Today people pass more and use up most, if not the whole shot clock. Where as back then they use to run up the court, pass it once and nail a jumper.

A 34 year old guy dating a 18 year old girl may be considered a perv. But if it's the other way around, I really haven't heard people calling that woman a perv. It's just the way the ball bounces.

Okay, i'm sorry. I guess lust is beautiful in it's own way. Let her have sex with three men in two days, she's not slutty to me! Fine, lets celebrate this guy's accomplishment. Yay! I feel much better now.
-
On base percentage shouldn't matter much if you're batting like .360.
-
The difference between that Kurt and this Kurt, is that the Kurt of now is pretty much like the top guy, so him goofing off would be odd. While the Kurt of 2001 was playing off of Austin who was the top guy. This comedy stuff could work if he's back to being the strong and funny lackey to someone else who has a higher position (in terms of card placement) than him.
-
True. He has the look, charisma, and good enough ring ability to be the number one man.
-
Ok, if a guy nailed 3 girls in the span of two days, he's be a stud and get high-fives from dudes like you and me, right? What's so different when a woman does the same thing? Why is a man a stud for going it, yet a woman is a slut? That still doesn't change the fact that she was slutty. And that guy would be called a whore? Maybe?

Great stuff with the Loaiza, Pedro, Foulke passing out because of the Babe Ruth ghost, A-Rod and Varitek bonding, Spiderman, Bucky Dent, and Johan Santana. Didn't like the Zimmer sensei part though.

Chad Pennington extends his contract for 7 more years

ESPN: You sure about that?

I disagree. You can't take someone and put them in this park and this era and say he would have done better. Vizquel's is this era's Ozzie with a better bat. Like Tejada would be this era's Cal Ripken? You have to keep in mind that pitchers, just like batters, got stronger as time went by as well. Ozzie never had to face a Randy Johnson, much, or a Pedro Martinez, or a Curt Schilling, or a Roger Clemens (seperate league). And I don't like this range stat. According to that, yes they were in the same league. Ozzie averaged more errors with one more attempt, if you take that ratio, Vizquel with less attempts did just as good. And heck, even with the Vizquel bat adjust park and era, even though I don't agree with, shows you that like Ozzie, Vizquel was as good as him according to his ERA. Vizquel like Ozzie hit for the league average, had nearly the same on base percentage (in Vizquel's case, the same), and a bit below in slugging. All these stats, even though I don't agree with some, because it's all hypothetical, just show that like Ozzie, Vizquel did just as good in his era.

Ah god, ESPN is telling the whole story again for the 500th time.
-
Her taking the money and run really doesn't make her look good. Makes it look like she...LIED! Well, Kobe staying in the NBA is good. I'm not a Kobe fan, but it's good entertainment. So i'm happy, unless he really is...guilty.

He's 37 years old. I highly doubt he's got much left in the tank. Even at this point, he's not a HOFer. He looks better than ever, still plays a great short, and doesn't rely on power. Pesky hitters like him can stay a while longer. He's batting .310, doesn't look like he's got nothing left in the tank. If Ozzie Smith is in the hall, I don't see why Vizquel shouldn't be. Vizquel, heck, with 2 more solid years would have more runs, hits, right now has a better average, on base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS. He should win a Gold Glove this year, and possibly two more in the next 2 years. If it does happen, he's got my vote. I just find it odd that Ozzie gets all this acclaim because of his charisma and some flips. Vizquel even has the best fielding percentage for a shortstop in the history of the game for a minimum of 1000 games, he has over 2000 games played there. He has more doubles, triples, and even has better postseason numbers in close to the same amount of games. Well, that's my case.
