Then I advise you watch it at least 5 more times. Perhaps in slow motion. By this logic we can say that A-Rod is teamates with Gary Sheffield and Kevin Brown, who are known to be trouble makers in and out of the clubhouse, sport horrible tempers, and have both been the starters of brawls in the past. Hell, if I do go down that route then I can just say A-Rod got in the way of the baseball because he wanted to start shit. You do however have the chance to go and take this statement back however and admit that even though people are on the same team they do not share the same mentality. Well seeing as how A-Rod's eyes were focused solely on Arroyo at first because it took 5 seconds or so for Tek to get up out of his crouch and then in front of A-Rod I would have to say yes. That's actually not a smirk. He's alot like Joe Randa in the fact his face is stuck in a weird looking shit eating grin. Still, you're implying that early in a 3-0 game that he's intenionally trying to hit a player which puts a runner on and gives them a chance of getting the lead into an out of reach situation. If the game was 7-0 or so and A-Rod had gotten a hit in his previous AB to knock in some runs I might agree. However, in his first AB he hit a slow squibbler to second base. It was a slider. Arroyo throws neither a sinker or a curveball. He throws a fastball, change-up, and a slider. All i'm saying is just because Varitek said what he said does not make it true. I can say I can read minds whenever I feel like it, doesn't mean it's true. Arroyo's face is not like Joe Randa or Braden Looper he was smiling as soon as he hit 'em and was asking for the ball back. A-Rod walked out of the batters box and starting taking out his elbow pad when Varitek starting walking up to him. As soon as the camera zooms out you can clearly see he was looking straight at Varitek when he was yelling out the f-bombs. Varitek must of said something because A-Rod doesn't just throw f-bombs each time he gets hit. Oh and A-Rod got the game winning hit the night before, so i'm sure if it was intentional, that could have been part of the reason. Edit - It was a sinker. I could care less what he throws, it looked like a sinker. Started up top and sunk down to his elbow where he got hit.

It appears as though you missed the <Wayne's World> EXTREME FOX CLOSE-UP~ Whoooooooa </Wayne's World> that showed A-Rod looking out at Arroyo after being plunked, somewhat pointing his bat in his direction and going "Fuck You" before dropping the bat, taking off his body armor and saying the phrase "Fuck you" a few more times and then saying "Fuck you motherfucker". Yes, Varitek said "Shut-up and go down to first" which he stated in the post game interview that was EVERYWHERE last night. From there A-Rod said "Fuck You" to Varitek and then did the "Bring it" thing. Varitek obliged and gave A-Rod a palm strike to the face. I'm starting to think you didn't see any of this and infact were told of what happened through a friend's friend's cousin's sister who was a bus driver that drove the batboy home from the stadium or some shit. Actually I saw the game on Fox, and saw the replay like 5 times on baseball tonight. Varitek said he told him to shut up and go to first? Is this coming from the same team that has a guy who said he told Jorge Posada that "he'll remember this" last year during the ALCS? Anyone can say anything, it doesn't mean he said it. And now suddenly A-Rod wasn't cursing at Varitek but Arroyo? Right. And lets not forget that Arroyo had an evil smirk. But that's okay, it was all in fun! 2 outs no one on, please. It wasn't even a curveball, it was a sinker. Sinkers shouldn't get away.

Actually, I recall seeing A-Rod give Bronson a few naughty words before quickly turning to Varitek and blowing up. I still maintain that A-Rod totally lost it and nothing would have happened if he just jogged to first. Sure, you can give the pitcher a dirty look and probably say something, but jack one out of the yard your next time up instead of trying to be a tough guy and instigating (yes, reeling off 4 or 5 "fuck you's" and making a "bring it" motion to a guy is instigating) a brawl. Varitek probably could have controlled himself, but the situation just was going downhill from there. Really, I ask again, what possibly could have Varitek said to him to justify that explosion? A-Rod was pissed, saw Tek coming up to him to try and calm him down and walk him to first, and unleashed his rage on him. Of course, I'm probably just "distoring reality." Or your just giving a bias view. Your View: Varitek could do no wrong. A-Rod is a crazy bastard and was cursing at Arroyo as soon as he got hit. Arroyos smirk was a nice friendly smile. Varitek told him to go to first and just be friends.
-
First of all, he wasn't cursing at 'em, he was staring him down. Secondly. You seem to think that since Varitek's reputation of doing no wrong is intact, he can do no wrong. And just because of that your assuming that he didn't do anything to piss off A-Rod. IMO, he had to have said something to him. Even though A-Rod was staring down Arroyo, he was CLEARLY going to first base. Varitek must of said something that had A-Rod that pissed. But since we're talking about Alex Rodriquez here, he has to be the bad guy.
-
After the first lift you could tell Varitek couldn't pick A-Rods ass up. A-Rod had deadlock control over his head anyway, so either way A-Rod was going to punch the shit out of the top of Varitek's head (and since the mask came off) the face as well.
-
Exactly. We couldn't see what Varitek said because of the mask. He told him to come on because he has balls (and because of something Varitek must of said). And if Varitek had balls he would have taken his mask off before he attacked A-Rod.
-
Yep. Varitek with the catchers mask on and the chest protector is a big tough guy. If Varitek didn't have the mask on he would have been popped in the face. That's the only reason why A-Rod had to get 'em in a headlock. His mask came off when he shoved A-Rod. A-Rod still could have popped him. Tek just didn't want to throw a punch, as he'd likely be suspended. Alex already saw that Varitek had the mask, he wasn't waiting till it came off, so all he can do was a headlock. When Varitek hit A-Rod in the face, A-Rod's first reaction would be (since he knew that Varitek had a mask on) to give him a headlock. If Varitek didn't have a mask from the beginning he would have been popped.

A-Rod didn't start cursing until Varitek got involved. If Varitek doesn't say anything insulting to people for no reason, why would A-Rod? IMO, Varitek said something to piss 'em off.
-
A-Rod was walking up the base. I'm pretty sure if Varitek stayed behind the batters box A-Rod would have made it to first. I mean its pretty uncharacteristic of A-Rod to start a fight for no good reason. He does stare down at pitchers a lot though. But if the bases were jammed and he hit A-Rod with a "curve ball that got away", than I'd have no doubts at all in my mind that it wasn't intentional. Arroyo just got scored on 3 times, 2 outs, no one on. There's some doubt in my mind that it wasn't intentional. Then again, who knows what Varitek said, because I think thats what got A-Rod riled up.
-
Yeah, I never actually saw the part where A-Rod jawed at the pitcher. Heck, I thought it was a bit suspicious that he got hit with 2 outs and no one on. A-Rod took exception to that and just stared him down. The fact that A-Rod got that pissed would mean that Varitek said something to him. A-Rod always stares someone down after he gets hit by a pitch but he never starts cursing at them and picks a fight.

Trish Stratus has been caught in the act...

WWE are party poopers. -
Bullshit. Varitek is doing what he often does after one of his pitchers hits a batter: starts walking him down to first. A-Rod gave him two extremely audible fuck yous, starts moving towards the mound, then says, quite clearly, "Bring it." V-tek did. Get over it. A-Rod wanted something to get started, and Varitek brought him the fire. If anyone deserves something for instigating the brawl, it's A-Rod. At any rate, the Yankees showed true weakness today in their relief pitching, Mariano Rivera is human, and the Sox took one. Good shit. --Ryan Varitek walked up to him and said something before A-Rod yelled out Fuck you. If anything Varitek should of taken his masked off and fought with some balls. And how can you say that about the Yankee bullpen? Are you kidding me? Gordon didn't pitch, Proctor killed you, and Mo had a fluke blown save. This is coming from someone who has Boston's bullpen!? Right.
-
He didn't threaten the pitcher, and it was 2 outs no one on, it's very possible that it was intentional, especially since the Yankees were up 3-0. Varitek was the one who started it, A-Rod wouldn't just curse 'em out for no reason. Pussy Ass Varitek then hits him in the face (which wasn't even a punch, some girl like shove) which starts up the fight.
-
Wow. Talk about being a pussy, Varitek hits A-Rod with his freaking mask on. What a tough guy.

David Aldrigde has got to stop calling Jerry West "the logo". Is he trying to be cool or something here?

Nash is uglier. Nash looks like Skeletor.

Heck, they got that Brazilian guy Anderson Varejo too, the one that looks like Sideshow Bob. I heard he's an Energetic type of guy that can really get them up and down the court. Not to mention Gooden is better on the break than Boozer. They also got a young center in Steven Hunter, and they still have Luke Jackson. Add that with Eric Snow, LeBron, Big Z, McNnis (who might be traded), and Wagner, and you got yourself a playoff team in the East. They will also have Cap Room for next year after Ilgauska's contract expires to add someone else to the mix. Paxson shouldn't be fired, he needs a damn raise!

Who should beat Benoit for the title?
Brett Favre replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in The WWE Folder
Randy Orton at Survivor Series, after HHH gets kicked out of Evolution sometime before that. -
From 411 Now, I know this is only a house show so who is defending the titles means nothing. But, the fact that they're running Orton/Benoit and Edge/Batista matches should mean something right? I mean, they advertised Kane/Benoit and other such matches in advance. Is this what we are going to get at SummerSlam? That would, most likely, leave Triple H vs Regal (or Eugene) and Kane vs Jericho to fill out the card, which makes sense. I'm ok with this if it means Benoit keeps the title on Monday. God, I hope we get Benoit/Orton at Summerslam.

I can't imagine how much fun you must have mocking a team that's infinitely better than the one you like. Hey we have more overall championships! And once I have completed my coupe of Danny Ainge then we'll be padding that record! It's not so much that I hate the Lakers it's that I hate there star players and the movie stars that show up to the games. I also hate how we just HAVE to see who's there and be told that this team is better.....b/c movie stars come to there games that probably know little to nothing about basketball. I think eventually the Lakers are going to overtake the Celt's overall championships lead before Boston has a chance to pad it. Mark my words. And what's wrong with movie stars going to games? Are celebrities who enjoy sports not allowed to enjoy them anymore because of their celebrity status? And who's saying the Lakers are a better team because celebrities come to their games? It's Los Angeles, for christ's sake, the entertainment capital of the world, of course there's going to be famous people around. You see plenty of famous people at Knicks games as well, and there were some stars in the Pistons audience too. It's not that, it's that they only show up during playoff time and act like they're really fans when they are only there for the attention. Jack, Spike, and Woody Allen are true die hards though.

Eddie can be a thief who gets home and finds his wife being kidnapped. The irony itself would sell tickets.
