All championship teams barely escape playoff series', and i'm pretty sure there are more than a handfull who didn't win their division (too lazy to search right now). I don't believe this is one of the weakest teams basically because they are probably the best defensive team in the history of the game. And i'm not exaggerating. To break as many defensive records as they did, how can you not rank up there? They have the record for holding the most teams under 70 points, and the record of the numer of games in a row that was achieved. They also had some record of holding teams under 100 points, and held playoff teams this year to around 80. I'll check other records they broke some other day, but i'm pretty sure of those. To say that a top 3, if not best defensive team in basketball history is a weak champion, is like saying defense isn't important. Please.

Anybody see the movie "A Christmas Story"? Well remember the scene where that kid Ralph got so upset that he just beat the shit out of the bully? That's what this was. The Pistons (Ralph) just got sick of all the crap the media was throwing out (got sick of all the hype and fear this bully was getting) and just took it to him. The Lakers (Bully) couldn't do shit about it (the bully just cried and took the beating), and lost.

The NBA Finals was FIXED, and I'll prove it.

I made the prediction, but what Vitamn X doesn't show in his sig, since it doesn't fit is WHY I think Detroit would have won. It's somewhere in the NBA Playoffs Thread. But it wasn't fixed. The Pistons were the better team. They played like the better team, and when you get lucky for 3 rounds in a row like the Lakers have, (Jimmy Jackson/Steve Francis' shots don't go in, Fisher's shot, Cassell/Hudson injured) and you run into a team has well conditioned mentally AND physically, you will not win. The Pistons have been through more in the East. They took it to seven games with the Nets, lost in triple OT and won a game 6 on the road to take it to Game 7. They had a TOUGH series against the Pacers that could have gone either way. After facing a great defensive team like the Pacers, things look easier. The Lakers are NOT a good defensive team. Don't give me this crap about them not trying on defense. Any team in the NBA can try playing defense for five minutes and look unstoppable. The Lakers are not a good defensive team. The Pistons, this year have broken numerous defensive records. They are IMO a top 3 Defense team of all time, if not the best. Give me other teams that have held teams under 70 points as many times during the shot clock era. And that's where it all was. The Lakers have NEVER faced a defense like this. Don't give me this crap about the Spurs. The Spurs are a good defensive team, but the Pistons are much better. The Pistons are quicker, longer, and more active. The Lakers were baffled and there was nothing they can do about it. Fact is, Pistons won. There is no consipracy. There was no conspiracy when the Lakers out free throw shot the Nets, Sixers, and Pacers. There was no conspiracy when Fisher's shot was counted but Baron Davis prayer wasn't. There was no conspiracy when Samaki Walkers half court shot was counted in Game 4 of the 2002 NBA Western Conference Finals, which eventually led to Horry's 3 point shot. There was no conspiracy when Kobe elbowed the shit out of Bibby right in front of the refs face, and Bibby was called for the foul. There was no conspiracy when Wally Z moved out of Pargo's way when he was going for a layup and getting the foul called on him in the 2003 First Round Game 3 matchup between the T'Wolves and Lakers. No conspiracy when the refs tried to take over that game either, and even the commentators pointing it out. No conspiracy when Shaq elbows the shit out of his defenders, and there is NO conspiracy here. The Detroit Pistons are your 2004 NBA Champions.

But this isn't a bad team. This is a team of the best players of those bad teams, who can prove a point that they really are good.

What they could do is help rejuvinate the players that did not make the playoffs during this past year. Take one player from each team that did not make the playoffs (13), so they have the honor to bring the gold home and feel better about themselves. You can have a team consisting of these players. Allen Iverson Tracy McGrady (If Not = Drew Gooden) Stephen Jackson LeBron James Gilbert Arenas Vince Cartner (If Not = Chris Bosh) Eddy Curry or Jamal Crawford Elton Brand/Richardson/Maggette Jason Richardson/Erick Dampier Zack Randolph/Darius Miles Ray Allen Jazz = Matt Harpring? Amare Stoudemire/Shawn Marion These players, well most of them should be motivated to play. A team of these players who would play roles isn't bad either.

What I also found interesting was how hard the Lakers were celebrating. They haven't celebrated that much since they beat Portland in 2000. Seems to me that they know the Pistons are for real.

Don't know about you guys, but the only guy I could stand is Scott Van Pelt. He's pretty funny, most of the time. Everyone else sucks, or is annoying as hell. The Tony Montana thing is annoying as hell as well. Hitting a home run isn't showing anyone a friend. It doesn't make sense.

    "It's a Black man's game"

Rasheed had a thug interivew? What's a thug interview? The interview I heard Rasheed have after they beat Indiana didn't sound too "thugish". And since when is listening to specific music, dressing in a specific way, and talking in a specific way make someone trying to be a specific race? Ken Griffey Jr. can listen to all the country music he wants. I didn't know that listening to country music automatically makes you white. Since when do these transformations exist? Ken Griffey is african-american, because, check this out, it might sound crazy..but..because he's actually african-american. Music, style of speaking, and clothes do not change what you are. As for this topic itself, I play basketball in the parks, and it doesn't matter at all if you are white, black, green, red or whatever. If you got game, you play. No one cares. The game is getting more and more internationally flavored, and thats for the better.

I was so pissed yesterday. Yelling and screaming at Rip, and Larry, and the Pistons for blowing this game. Heck, i'm still pissed right now. You could hear the tone of the voices of Doc and Al being all sad, and oh my god the Lakers are about to lose. Byron Scott looked stunned, and Tolbert, well I have no idea who he's rooting for since he's been 50/50 and the only one on ABC giving them a chance. But now that I think of it, the only team giving the other team a chance is Detroit. Detroit had the game won. They left Fisher open, they fouled Shaq on a stupid play, a play that was on an offensive board. If the Pistons rebounded that ball, the game would have been over. But i'm not too pissed anymore. Detroit has bounced back before, and they are at home. Malone is playing on one leg, and Rasheed seems to be getting in the groove. I haven't really noticed how hard i'm rooting for Detroit till after this lost, and hopefully their last one of the finals. Detroit, if you win, you will shut up the "NBA Experts", make them eat their words, and make them look like the bunch of ring-less midcarders that they really are. Lets go Detroit Pistons.

Whats your favourite sports memory of all time?

    1) 1999 Eastern Conference First Round - Game 5: New York Knicks vs. Miami Heat. With like 4.7 seconds left, Allan Houston takes the pass from Charlie Ward and drives to the hoop, wins the game, and then swings his fist with Spree and co. hugging him 2) 1999 Eastern Conference Finals: Indiana Pacers vs. New York Knicks. Don't remember what game exactly, I believe its game 3, not too sure. Larry Johnson had been on fire all night long, and the Knicks were down three with like 14 seconds left. He just kept holding the ball as time went buy, then just hoisted a shot over Antonio Davis, gets fouled, and SWISH! The crowd goes apeshit, LJ nails the Free Throw and the Knicks win the game and the series. 3) 2001 World Series: Paul O'Neill gets his name chanted by the crowd in Yankee Stadium. That was beautiful. 4) 2001 World Series: Tino and Scott hit homers off of Byung-Hung Kim in the 9th to tie the game. That was also incredible.

Eddie Guerrero snaps on fans at Germany show

If the crowd is booing him, he's turned heel for the night, so he's playing the heel role. And how do we know he didn't do it in character? Does someone know Eddie personally and asked him? This is stupid that people are as upset at Eddie for saying a crowd sucks as they are at Bradshaw for doing something 100x worse and more offensive.

Can, can you read? Read the report from someone who was there. Huh? Is there something else he did that i'm missing?

Eddie Guerrero snaps on fans at Germany show

Eddie WASN'T playing the heel role. He was pissed that he wasn't getting cheered. BIG difference. And the two incidents are seperate and should be treated as such. I'm not saying Eddie's doings were as bad as Bradshaw's. I'm saying it's bias to be assuming Eddie is automatically innocent while saying Bradshaw was guilty, on the same levels of evidence. It'd be no problem to me if people disagreed on both situations. He was playing the heel role for the night i'm assuming since the crowd did turn him heel. But either if he wasn't turned heel but was booed; he says "Germany Sucks". Is it that big of a deal? Even if he took it seriously, did he touch somebody? It's something a person being booed at would do, and when they are being booed at, they are turned heel.

Eddie Guerrero snaps on fans at Germany show

Hmmm. Bradshaw does the Nazi Salute, and Eddie says "Germany Sucks". And we are suddenly biased because we support Eddie for doing something any other person that's playing the heel role would do? Right.

Whats your towns most popular sport?

My Hometown: 1) Baseball = Yankees and the Mets are the most important thing here, and I mean pretty damn important. 2) Basketball = New York Knicks/New Jersey Nets. Not so much the Nets as the Knicks. Knicks are damn important around here. 3) Football = NY Jets/NY Giants 4) Hockey = Very Little People Care. Although there are decent amount of Ranger and Devil fans, haven't seen much Islander fans.
