Malone isn't getting a ring. Players that are dirty, ignorant, and loud mouth idiots don't get rings. Ask Charles Barkley. Ask Gary Payton after this season. And it's a combination of the three. I'm saying it right now, and any Laker fan on the board can quote this on their sig or their mind, or whatever: If the Pistons make it to the NBA Finals, the Detroit Pistons will become the 2004 NBA CHAMPIONS. You better believe it. First of all, Derek Fisher with a sprained knee is not going to stop Chauncey Billups, and Billups is already too quick for Gary Payton. Rip Hamilton will run off of screens left and right, tire Kobe or George, who ever is guarding him that night and just get easy layups because a) Malone and Shaq are two horrible lazy help defenders and b) Hamilton is quick as hell, to quick for someone like Kobe who has to focus on his offense and is not such a good man on man defender. Rasheed Wallace hates the Lakers, so you can expect him to play like he can, and Ben Wallace isn't going to be easy to fend off the boards like Ervin Johnson was for Shaq. The Lakers so called "didn't give effort" in Games 2 and 5 of the last series, although I think that's BS. But for the people that do believe it, they will have to give effort in ALL the games. Mainly because Detroit is a much better defending team than the T'Wolves, so the Lakers can't expect to get one of those 10-0 runs on the Pistons anytime they feel like it. Larry Brown has already played the Lakers once in the finals, and actually beat them in one game with a team that consisted of Aaron McKie has their second leading scorer. The other games were close as well, so with a team that has 3 guys that can give you 20 (Billups, Hamilton, and Sheed) and 2 guys that can give you 10 and 10 (Ben, Prince), while having 2 bigs on the bench that can give Shaq a fight (Okur) and a guy who's actually played with Shaq (Elden Cambell), with a guy who is a pretty good post presence and should eat Medvenko alive (Williamson), and 2 speedy guards (James, Hunter), I'd say the Pistons have a great chance to win this series.

Carmelo looked half asleep reading off a card, as he obviously was. The show was pretty cool, the only beef I have about it though was no mention of the 1999 Knicks magical run to the finals. You have Houston's shot against the Heat, and LJ's 4 point play where the crowd EXPLODED like i've never seen a crowd explode before. But they did have Reed at #3, so i'm cool with that.

I'd like to see a Sting vs. Kurt Angle Feud so, Smackdown! it is for me. + you still have Big Show, Taker, Eddie, RVD, JBL, Booker T, Cena, Dupree, Mordecai, and Vince McMahon (you know it's bound to happen) left to feud with afterwords. RAW doesn't need anything, it's fine the way it is. Smackdown! needs anything at this point.

I disagree on Parker, Ginobili, and Duncan better than Cassell, Spree, and Garnett. The reason I mention those is because Ginobili and Parker missed tons of open shots, while Cassell and Spree nail those same open shots. Right now Cassell is better Parker, and Spree/Ginobili is debatable, although i'd give the edge to Spree simply because of his ability to get 30 any given night. Wally is a great scorer, and is better than George/Fox IMO. He was also a great scorer in college, when given the chance he can give you 20. Your right about the T'Wolves, if Cassell can stay healthy, they are set for next year. They need someone like an Erick Dampier to really name them the favorites next year though.

200,000 people bought Judgment Day? I thought there was gonna be like 29 buys.

Who won last year's series with Minnesota? Who won this year's series with San Antonio? And furthermore I don't think LA's defense gets enough credit for what they did against Parker and the Spurs. They all but shut him down after Game 2 with a mild comeback in Game 6, when the game was all but won. On top of it all, last year's Minnesota and LA teams were completely different than they are now, especially Minnesota but Horry is gone and Malone and Payton are in. San Antonio got lazy in Game 3 (why do champs always seem to get lazy when they think a series or game has been won?) and then got blown up by Bryant in Game 4, while LA played some damn good defense. Now I'm not saying LA could take Minnesota as easily as the Spurs, since they're no defensive team like the guys out in the East are, but they play good enough defense and create turnovers to give their offense opportunities. Shaq was rebounding yesterday like a madman, granted that comes from missed shots, but the Lakers seem to know that Minnesota isn't going to make as many of their shots without Cassell. Again, it's a totally different ballgame, you make adjustments based on who you know is playing and who isn't. Exactly, they are two different teams, which is why I feel the T'Wolves would have won this year. Sprewell, Cassell, Ervin Johnson, Mark Madsen are an upgrade over Peeler, Smith, Nestorovich, and which ever guy was backing up Hudson last year. Malone is old as hell, and to say that he would have handled the pick and roll is ridiculous since Hudson would have just blown right past him, and Payton is worse that Fisher right now in his career. I mean, what would the Lakers have done? They are triple teaming KG right now, lets say Cassell and Hudson were healthy. They don't triple team KG. KG gets Malone one on one, KG dominates. Wally gets Devean George or Rick Fox one on one, Wally will get more points. The Lakers would have to play man to man with each player. That means Cassell gets to shoot over Payton, Spree gets to drive on George and Garnett gets to dominate Karl Malone. Hudson, Wally and Hoilberg are definitely better scorers than Fisher, George and Rush. If Hudson and Cassell were healthy, tell me, what would the Lakers have done?
-
20, maybe. 30? No. The Lakers are being real lazy with playing defense because they KNOW they don't have to defend against Cassell or Hudson. Again, you can't blame an entire series or game on just injuries or even a few plays, because you don't know how the other team would react to the players that are otherwise injured. Did you watch last year's series? They couldn't guard Troy Hudson. A pick a roll and he'd nail the three. They closed up on him and he just drove right past his defender. He'd get a layup or kick it out to an open shooter. When you have someone who can do that constantly, Garnett becomes better, Spree becomes better, and if you have him on the floor at the same time, Cassell will get open jump shots. Add that with the fact that you have Hoilberg, Hassell, and Szcerbiak waiting in the wings as well. It takes away the double team that they'd have on Garnett if they had Cassell or Hudson, and Wally can take anyone who's guarding him one on one without a problem. They'd decide to put Kobe on him, no problem. Kobe would tire out and struggle on offense, while you still have Cassell to guard as well. Two injuries can do that, and without those two injures, i'm pretty sure the T'Wolves would have played with more confidence than the Lakers, and better. **It's like if you were facing the Spurs (Troy Hudson = Tony Parker), but this time you have players who can nail jump shots. Garnett takes the role of Duncan, and Spree, Cassell, Hoilberg, Hassell, Wally take the roles of Turkouglu, Bowen, Brown, Ginobili, and Horry. I know that you know that if the Spurs nailed their jumpers the series would have been won easily. Well, if Hudson was healthy, and Cassell as well, those jumpers would have gone down, simply because the T'Wolves are a darn good jump shooting team.
-
Lets not forget Troy* Hudson now. If Hudson and Cassell were healthy, the T'Wolves would win in 6 games. If Fisher couldn't guard Hudson last year, an old Payton wouldn't guard him this year. Cassell would stretch the defense for KG and the T'Wolves would win this series. Lakers really haven't done anything major other than defeating a team without A) A player that can nail 30 against them specificly anynight (Hudson) and B) One of the top 5 clutch players in the league and a 20, 8 guy (Cassell). Take away Shaq and Derek Fisher and the Lakers would be in the same position the T'Wolves are in now. *Too much baseball for me.

Clemens was 99. Still won it all, but not the huge 114 win year true, Bush, Lloyd and Wells were still in the '98 team.
-
Jeter won a title with the Yankees his rookie year. My favorite player in the whole wideworld was traded to the Yankees in 1993 and the Yankees won that title in 1996. Yanks traded for Clemens for the 1998 season and they had 114 wins that year along with the title. Don't talk to me about the Knicks. I'm hoping the Stephon Marbury trade makes this list soon. I know they've won in '70 and '73, but i'm really not old enough to comment. The Jets....Lets go Pennington/Ellis/Abraham in the 2000 draft, followed by Santana Moss in the 2001 draft..hopefully that makes the list soon as well.

Probably because he was doing it in anger.......I guess? Maybe he was happy. It was a nice kick though, i'd tell you that. If this had been Malone they'd probably give him the 5,000 bucks. How does he get fined that much while Malone only gets fined 2,500 more for elbowing someone towards the ground, after the game was pretty much out of reach, also out of anger?

I feel so special. My birthday is one day after Benoit's. We're practically twins. BTW, Benoit can go like 10 more years. If Ric Flair/Hogan can go that far into their careers, i'm pretty sure a tremendous worker like Benoit can go twice as far.
-
That's the problem. The Spurs didn't beat the Lakers for that one reason. Last year they Stephen Jackson and a hot shooting Bruce Bowen to knock down those shots. The T'Wolves, if they double KG, which I think they'll have to, will get those shots. Cassell, Hoilberg, Spree and Wally Z will hit those more than this year's Spurs team. This series will be tough, T'Wolves are hungry, and I like the T'Wolves.
-
It was in 1994, and what's your problem man. Damn! I played out the finish to the 1999 Game 5 Knicks/Heat where Houston makes the running shot. And I too called the Aaron Boone HR, like as soon as I saw him going up to bat.

But Major League was somehow......different than any other baseball movie. So why the Indians? Oh man. It's my own topic and I'm already off topic 4 posts in. Because Cleveland Rocks.
-
Hmmm. Isn't it possible that it was Eugene who spiked the ratings during that segment? The people knew that was Eugene's segment to begin with, and no one knew The Rock would appear. Eugene = Ratings?
-
Yeah stupid me. Benoit doesn't entertain.
-
No Benoit = 3.4 Benoit = 4.0 Need I say more?
-
Jason Giambi also used to come out to the Wolfpac Theme.
-
I really thought that jacket was white. I understand the Benoit wearing tights everytime he goes out to the ring because he breathes and sleeps wrestling method, but he shouldn't wear the same tights for like 5 weeks straight like he did earlier this year.

Screw Billy Wagner, the real "Enter Sandman" by Metallica is Mariano Rivera.
-
Hoilberg, Cassell, Sprewell, and Wally are all better shooters than Hedo, Parker, Manu, and Bowen. So let them double KG, this time the shots will go down. And I'd take Hassell ten times over Devon George. Hassell is a better defender, and if you leave him open, he will nail that 15 foot jumper.

New York Yankees: 1997 ALDS against the Cleveland Indians, Mariano allows HR to Sandy Alomar (Paul O'Neill - Favorite Player EVER- nearly tied the game with a HR but it hit the top of the wall and the Yankees lost after Bernie Flied out)/ 2001 World Series - after Soriano hits a golf shot HR, Mariano blows a lead and I cried. I really did./ New York Knicks: 1994 NBA Finals Game 7 - John Starks goes like 2-17 I think, can't remember, dont want to, and he gets his shot blocked by Hakeem the Dream Killer to end hope/1997 2nd Round against Miami, up 3-1, the knicks brawl with the heat, lost some players for some games and lost the series 4-3./1998 Reggie Miller kills our hope to make it a series against them with another killer three at the Garden (There are also numerous Miller moments that I'd like to forget)/1999 Knicks lose to the Spurs in the NBA Finals 4-1, and what made it worse was that Spree cried at the end after he gave it his all, and I cried with him. St. Johns Redstorm - When they lost to Ohio State I think, don't really remember, don't remember what year either but the team had Postell and Artest and they lost to them in the Final 8, it was freaking sad. New York Jets - 1999 AFC Championship, after being up 10-0 at Half Time, lost to John Elway and the Broncos, last year with Keyshawn and Vinny as a real threat/Umm 2001-2002 losing to the Raiders in the playoffs/Last Year Chad ends hope in the Jet season by getting injured for like 6 weeks.

Isn't Takashi that 7'11 guy from NBA Street? I'd dig that.

Chris Benoit = Ratings No Benoit, No Good Rating.
