This is the reason why my friend wants the US to be ruled by religious belief because government officials use the Bible to promote ideas that aren't even in the Bible. If everyone knows what's going on in the Bible, there's not much that can get passed people. Not that I agree with him, but just wanted to mention it, since we actually had a discussion about this a week ago. I'm under the belief that morals came from religion (generally, not any specific religion), so it's necessary to have religion in society. Not mandatory for everyone to believe in it, but to have it there is a good thing.
