Angie absolutely deserved to be fired, I dont care what the circumstances are you just dont stammer all over the place during a presentation like that. Reading from a hastily written script, no ability to improvise, I'm sorry but you just cant crack like that.
-
Oh man could this finally be curtains for Chris?

I thought the same thing too after last year Lushus but now I know as long as Simon Cowell is on the program I'll watch. I cant hate on Anthony too much since he has an awesome story and is a likeable kid (I really respected his honesty last night) but your right he does need to go soon.

Ozzie leaves instead of the wife-beater, good choice America...

I was like Simon and wanted to eat a gun at the end of this show.

The whole notion of "winning with someone else's team" (I know you didnt say that verbatim but I'm just stating the theory as a whole) bothers me. Yes, Matt Doherty and Bill Self did recruit these guys, no doubt about it but they only got so far with these players (and in Doherty's case screamed his way into a coaching disaster) and couldnt get over the hump. However, it was Williams and Weber that coached these guys up to get where they're at. They ran their systems not Doherty's and Self's, so I think the coaches do deserve the credit for getting there and in Roy's case winning. As far as the future for these programs like you said UNC will continue to recruit well because theyre UNC. While I think Bruce Weber is a very good coach, his recruiting prowess is yet to be seen, we'll find out in the coming years Where I agree completely with you is the state of Mich.State basketball. Tom Izzo has now become the new Denny Crum a coach that no matter how their teams do in the regular season you simply do not want to run into in March. I expect next year to be no different with them.
-
Well, the refs are doing everything they can to hand UNC the title on a silver platter. EDIT: Although Illinois isnt helping matters.

No... Funny is subjective. Success isn't. Whether you liked the Fallon-Fey Weekend Update team or not you can't deny the critical acclaim, higher ratings and Emmy Awards they brought to SNL. They might not have been your cup of tea but there is no denying that they were highly successful.

Thats odd, cause isnt Sean Casey Mr. Born-Again?

My Chemical Romance is not emo, thank you.

The thing with Mich.St. this year as someone on ESPN (Doug Gottlieb?) said last night they neither had great wins over a top-flite team nor did they have a loss to a really bad team. They were just a solid, good team that has gotten hot at the right time. Plus, Tom Izzo, is always dangerous in the NCAA Tourney. (Aside from the Final 4's He went to the Elite 8 as a 10? two years ago)

Granted he's won a championship but doesnt Lute Olson have a history with his teams sitting on leads late in the game.
-
Its probably been since the 95-96 Kentucky team that I've seen a team this unconsious right now.
-
As far as the game itself if Louisville is within 10-15 at the half they're okay cause no team could possibly sustain the clip that WV is going at right now behind the arc.

Anyone who's watched this knows that Dee Brown has killed everybody the last few weeks and the judges pretty much gave him a pass when he was was a little off last week. Unless he pulls a major gag job he will win tomorrow.
-
Technically, it may have been a travel but heres the problem everybody travels to some degree or another. It wasnt that blatant and you just dont call that at a critical moment in a Sweet 16 game. Players should decide the game not officals.
-
Steve Lavin has the most self depricating sense of humor ever: He completely ripped on himself in the College Gameday segment discussing his, Majerus and Digger Phelps's Sweet 16 memories. It was something to the effect of I sucked in the sweet 16 since we only went 1-4 and we had talented teams. Plus, there was always that booster who grew up with John Wooden that tried to get you fired. You had to see Lavin say this it was really funny.

The Mountaineers only hope is for them to have a better game than they had against Wake at the 3 point line. The Cardinals are a better defensive team than people give them credit for as well, and I just dont see the game being that close... Louisville wins 85-69

I never said Kobe isnt a good player and cant be clutch, I have said he cant be clutch when it counts "the most". (ie NBA Finals and more specifically the most critical games in the NBA finals ) Kobe may have had better stats but Shaq played much better in defeat overall. Well your H-Y-P-O-T-H-E-T-I-C-A-L scneario didnt happen so why even bother to bring it up. Let me start out by agreeing with you on one thing, Gary Payton was completely useless for LA last season and was a major contributing factor for the Lakers not winning another title. Now as for the rest of your points, I understand if youre sensitive to the weight issue based on your own personal experiences but I'm afraid youre letting that clout your view of Shaq's performance. He's always was there in the playoffs and never folded. Plus, his FT's have always been atrocious so did you expect anything more? Again blame Gary Payton and Kobe disappearing and maybe even Karl Malone's injury they contributed to the loss too you know. PS. I'm not the only retard who thinks like this ask Bob Barron who contributed more to the Lakers and who brought up the Magic vs. Shaq comparison in the first place.
-
Absolutely you should give them a pass unless it involves rape or murder. Shaq and Magic involved neither/nor so let it go. I agree with you on Kobe see above RAPE OR MURDER again... RAPE OR MURDER. As far as his game itself goes Kobe's didnt really drop off at all until the playoffs when for the most part Shaq had to carry him as per usual and that really had nothing to do with the rape trial IMO.. BAH! First off, all that practicing doesnt stop Kobe from folding at critical moments at playoff time. which again is all that matters. Sure, he'll make a game winning shot in Game 2 which is significant mind you but not as significant as dissapearing in Game 5 and/or relying on Shaq to get you a world title. Shaq's weight problems are irrelevant to me since he always performed well in big games. And once again you mentioned Magic's name before I did pal.
-
WHOA WHOA WHOA!!!!!!!!!! How is Shaq occasionally getting fat and missing free throws even in the same ball park as Magic being an irresponsible jackass and getting HIV??? While I disagree with you even in Magic's case (you even say what happens off the court is their buisness) Are you saying their equal slime cause Shaq was in shape for Miami training camp? That is incredibly ludicrous. What buisness is it of yours anyway? Did Magic somehow ruin your childhood when he got AIDS and you found out he was a flawed individual? On the court the lakers werent that bad I mean they had a couple of off years until Del Harris ledthem back to respectability in 94. Back to the larger point at hand though instead of being on a high horse and demanding athletes have a high moral code be more appreciative of the good times they give you a sports fan. You dont have to like them as people you should like them as players moreso than you do.

I've never seen Paula as unbearable as she was tonight, and it takes a lot for her to get on my nerves. (since I know what to expect)

The point that I was making was that VX seemed to think a tandem of Bryant and Odom with good coaching could eventually take them far and they simply cant. They need A LOT of help on that team to get back to the top of the conference. I mean CHRIS MIHM is your starting Center for crissakes. As far as Shaq goes I never said he was the most coachable in the league, he's a pain in the ass but I do think its petty to complain about him when he did so much for the Laker Organization and was always there in big games.
-
Okay you wanted a serious reply, here's a serious reply. I dont think a tandem of Bryant and Odom is better than the Wallace Bros. or the trio in Phoenix. Odom is only a decent player and Bryant while very good needs help to carry his team to a title. Keep in mind here I'm not talking about just making the playoffs, I'm talking titles and it will take a lot more than Kobe and Lamar to get the Lakers back into the promised land. Ben is a great defensive player while Rasheed is great on both ends of the floor. Nash is a difference maker, Marion is very solid all-around and Amare is borderline dominant. As far as Phil Jackson goes in my opibnion based on the stuff he's said about Kobe in his book and elsewhere it would be extremely hyporcitical for him to come back. I dont know Kobe and you dont know him either. All I know is this for five years the Lakers went to 4 NBA Finals, winning three. Shaq, Kobe and Phil were the main triumvirate in that run. Shaq and Phil are gone and Kobe is still there and while he is still putting up the numbers what good are stats if you dont make the playoffs this year or win the title in the coming years?

Boy... you diss one rapist and damn!!!
