I think there are good people on the show its just the bad are REALLY bad this season. Fortunately, the fat is being cut quickly. I will also reiterate that in spite of their ad gaffes on the show last night I expect Erin and Bren to go a long way possibly up to the final four. But it is John vs. everybody else right now IMO.

What show was Kristen on?

A loss is a loss and it doesnt change the fact that Arrested Development is a ratings loser every week.

Thats like saying that your football team got beat 27-14 instead of 45-0, its still not a good number at all. Its listed as nothing besides a loser in Mediaweek (if it gets listed), and Fox has given enough time and at some point you just have to pull the plug. Dont misinterpret me while I'm not a regular viewer of AD every time I see the show it KILLS me and I would love to see it do well but the bottom line is its just not happening.

Thats not necessarilly true in the 49ers case. They won two Super Bowls in four years and while they were in the playoffs every year, they were pretty much a non-entity in the mid-80s compared to one year dominant teams like the Bears and Giants. The Steelers were more dominant since they got to the Championship Game in 76 lost to Denver in the Divisional round the following year and then won again in 78 and 79. I'm not diminishing what SF did and they ARE a dynasty. but to say they were dominant every year is a misnomer.

So what they were the funniest SB commercials in years, not even Terry Tate had me laughing like this. Its been forever since a TV commercial made me laugh until I cried let alone two.

Fair enough - comparisons against teams in different eras is probably a fruitless point, so I'll give you that. I won't budge, however, on the intelligence gap between the Patriots and the rest of the league. Now, some of that undeniably has to be credited to the Patriots staff, from the personnel director to the head coach - this team is the best coached team of the decade, and they're so far ahead of everybody in the league that it's almost laughable. But you can't deny that part of that gap lies in the fact that the other coaches in the league have been pretty lousy in critical situations. If the Patriots are smarter than everybody else, then that means that everybody else has to be dumber than the Patriots, and it's been very evident in clock management (hello, Mike Martz) and other facets of the game. The best win that the Patriots had came last year because the Panthers gave them an absolute ride all the way to the finish. With Philadelphia and St. Louis, the opposing teams' effort was marred by terrible mistakes in judgement - inexplicable turnovers in the red zone, the first ever Six Minute Drill, etc. With Kasay's blown kickoff, it was a simple mistake and, while it was still an inexcusable one, it wasn't necessarily a coaching blunder. For Rams and Eagles fans, it's a sore forehead and scratchy throats, all wounds from openly wondering how exactly they could piss away a game so efficiently. The Patriots are a dynasty, no argument there. Their legacy, however, lies in their coaching and their organization's brilliance (and the lack thereof in their competition). They weren't faster, stronger, or bigger than any other team in the league. They were just smarter. The Patriots are smarter than everybody else in the league and, three Super Bowl rings later, any argument to the contrary should really be put to rest. I dont disagree with that but it doesnt take away from their accomplishments as a team. They still had to execute after the mistakes and they did. As far as others making the "they missed the playoffs" arguement, spare me! The 49ers missed the playoffs with a 3-6 record in the 1982 strike shortened season and I dont see anyone taking their dynasty tag away. The Pats were 9-7 and lost out on tiebreakers. 48-16 + 9-0 in the playoffs since 2001= Dynasty, bottom line.

The Patriots ARE this decades dynasty without question. When you win 3 Super Bowls in 4 years it doesnt matter how you win youre a dynasty, end of story. Personally, I dont even like comparing different eras cause it was a different game in each decade. I think the Patriots feat is even more impressive under a capped system. Skip "scumbag" Bayless could shove it for all I care, I dont care how "stupid" your team is you still have to win the games and the Patriots do that. Maybe he could start gay rumors about Tom Brady now.

The Ameriquest commercials were amazing, the rest was hit and miss as they are every year for the most part.

Coming from someone who hates Philly sports I think you will have a championship one day to celebrate. As said in another thread the Eagles are in a good position in a weak conference to contend for a long time.
-
As a fan of neither team I didnt find that game boring at all it was an up tempo game that was a lot of fun to watch. Not the best SB ever mind you but far from the worst.

If youre comparing Seth Meyers to Jimmy Fallon youre not watching the show closely enough. Their styles are completely different. Also, if you say Meyers is in "frat boy mode" you really have only seen one of his Update appearances which is clearly different from the others (Liam Neeson from this year). At any rate all of his appearances on Update have been outstanding. The problem with Forte in general is that he has problems playing it straight. While his humor works really well in bizzare sketches and WU commentaries I dont think it would translate well with him anchoring the segment. Out of the current cast Seth Meyers is by far best suited to take over next season provided Tina does leave. This has really been the first bad time for Weekend Update since Colin Quinn's first year and a half anchoring the segment. He got better later on and Fallon-Fey was outstanding.

Budweiser Lizards vs. Frogs (w/ Ferret)- 1998

Tell me you just didnt say that!

Its obvious to me after three weeks who the four strongest players are: Networth John Angie Magna Erin Bren John and Angie have stuck out in a big way and are certain to go a long way. Erin to me is Jen Massey with more substance and I have to disagree Harry, she's a goddess from ANY angle. Bren has already shown himself to be a good role and I think will be a great PM once he gets that role. Those are the four that stand out and those that are on the fence that could go either way are Chris, Craig, Stephanie, and Alex.

"DAMN Stu, That IS big!"

Can you blame him?

Something that annoys me people who judge Hoobastank by "The Reason".

Sorry to bring up bad memories dude, don't get me wrong I expect the Eagles to be good for a while too (and it pains me to admit that being a Tampa sports fan). I just think Dallas with a good QB could be a big threat in the NFC since the conference is weak and I really dont see it improving next year, although having the Eagles in their division could obviously work against them.

Well give him credit for picking Bledsoe instead of Rick Mirer and Curtis Martin in the third round (95). Plus, do you honestly think another coach could have taken the 96 team to a Super Bowl AS A LAME-DUCK. He got the most out of his teams there and thats all you can ask from a coach. QB injuries played a part but it was mostly because of Rich Kotite. Anyway, Neil O'Donnell was the QB for the Jets in 97 before Vinny had his big year in 98. 99 was ying and yang, he made a huge mistake by not aggressively pursuing a back-up for Vinny however he did an incredible coaching job having the team ready to play each week and the Jets going 7-2 in the last nine games. Right place, Right time hardly. The team in 03 had no buisness going 10-6 and he even said that himself. The jury is still out here but personally if they have a real QB they could contend for the NFC Title next season. You heard it here first. To an extent yes and theres no denying Belichick's role in his success. However, he finds a way to get the most out of his teams most of the time and is certainly a HOF coach when he retires.

Both Pats-Rams and Bucs-Raiders were one week after the title games not two.

I wouldnt give up on Ahmad Carroll so quickly many a cornerback have looked horrible in their rookie year (ie in the Bucs case Brian Kelly) only to have solid or great careers in the NFL.
-
Over/under of how many Gruden F-bombs accidentally fly over ESPN2's airwaves.
-
I think getting demoted to third string kinda gives it away. He, Alstott (the most overrated Buc ever) and Ian Gold are probably on the outs.

Unless youre a Bucs fan
