I think Francona was just trying to get as many people into the game as possible. Even though the score got tight at the end it never felt like the NL was mounting that much of a threat.

damn I missed Abreu's explosion but I did see Sam Ryan looking quite hot as she tried to hump Johnny Damon.

Perhaps its because I've seen far worse cases of bias by national announcers, but it really doesnt egg on me that much and like I said I think he checks it fairly well. Especially for someone who has two generations of history with the Cardinals in the family.

Joe Buck is the No.2 announcer in the biz behind Al Michaels period. The guy rarely has an off game in either football or baseball and thats quite an achievement especially working with a senile hack like McCarver or a blabbering jackass like Cris Collinsworth. And please anyone who saw bias in his WS work last year is a Red Sox fan grasping for straws.

Buck wasn't bad at all in the WS with the bias, and whenever he does a national game with the Cardinals I think he keeps it in check pretty well.

Considering the Mets are a mish-mash and overall a crappy baseball team, I think .500 is OUTSTANDING for them. I'd be thrilled with that if I were you.

Based on what's being leaked through the grapevine there probably should've been an announcement I agree but it should be noted that a lot of teams are offering season ticket packages now.

Dogbert the Lightning President was on local radio about a week ago and basically said they have an agreement its just there is a MASSIVE amount of paperwork they have to do to write it up. That's what these meetings the past few weeks have been for. The agreement itself was reached about a month ago.

UH the NHL season isnt up in the air, they're practically writing the agreement at these meetings and expect an announcement with in 2-3 weeks. There will be hockey in October. Plus, coaches wouldnt be hired and fired if there was any doubt about hockey coming back in the fall.
