  1. Wow, this is the only time I ever post here anymore but anyway here are my thoughts. I know some people want to see the UofL-Memphis sweet 16 matchup but I just dont see it happening. For one thing A&M is GOOD, very good and I cannot see Louisville getting past them. In fact, I have A&M going to the Final Four. Gillispie is a damn good coach and he'll find a way not only to get past the Cardinal but to beat the Ohio State Buckeyes who are vulnerable in the later rounds if/when the shooters go cold. Overall, I really think the team to beat is Georgetown. They have the total package and they are the one team who have the personeel that can beat the Florida Gators. Every other teamfalls short in one area or another but Georgetown has the length, the athleticism, and the personeel to win it all.

  3. Well, definitive word came down this morning: As had been initially suspected, Harold Reynolds was fired by ESPN because of sexual harassment, specifically toward an ESPN co-worker. (The Big Lead says it was an "inappropriate hug" toward a PA at an Outback Steakhouse.)

Reynolds spoke to the New York Post and doesn't believe he did anything wrong.

"This was a total misunderstanding," Reynolds told The Post. "My goal is to sit down and get back. To be honest with you, I gave a woman a hug and I felt like it was misinterpreted."

The Big Lead, who needs to put a gold star next to its source on this, says it was a minor incident that blew into a larger one because of Reynolds' history of behavior. Reynolds, for his part, still wants his job back. We think it wise that he not hold his breath.

    He shouldnt have grabbed ass.

  4. Another things on Richards, I thought the Bolts were tight under the cap after signing Lecavalier and St. Louis last season. How much room are they going to have left or are one of those 2 guys on the way out?

They're going to have to trade Lecavalier or St. Louis. Nobody's trading for St. Louis, so Lecavalier's probably going to be dealt. One of their big 3 has to be dealt for a goalie.

Rumor is right now that Feaster is going to put St. Louis on the market which is more feasible than you might think. St. Louis makes 5.25 mill next year. Yes thats expensive but its tradeable, in fact a St.Louis-Gigeure swap with Anaheim would make a lot of sense since JSG makes 4 mill and Anaheim would only add 1.25 mill to their payroll.

  5. Congratulations to the Ottawa Senators, they deserved to win this series. The Bolts gave a good effort tonight but it fell short. The interesting local rumors around here right now is that John Tortorella may be fired or will resign in the coming days. He is HATED in the locker room right now primarily because he threw players under the bus through press conferences way too frequently this year. That stuff worked between 01-04 when he did it less frequently and more to send a message to the team and they usually responded. Doing it every game is Mike Keenan-type bullshit. Now, its just stale and the team has a glass ceiling as long as he's the head coach. If he does leave look for Craig Ramsay to be promoted to head coach, he has a calming influence that would go over well after dealing with Torts for 4 1/2 years.

  6. Funny how when a pest plays for your own team, he's doing an awesome job, but when he plays for the other team, he's a little bitch. About the same attitude I have toward Darcy Tucker.

Anyway, if Dingman thought fighting Neil was going to send a message, it obviously didn't have the desired effect, judging by how the game ended. It was a stupid move that just showed that Tampa Bay had completely lost their cool. Even Tortorella bitched out Dingman in a post-game interview.

Oh, and Neil would have fought Dingman 10 times out of 10 if that was a regular-season game. He's the toughest guy on the team aside from McGrattan.

First of all when he played for the Bolts I was no fan of Tucker's act when he started his shit (which wasn't as often as in TO) cause it would hurt the team more than he helped it. I understand why Torts was pissed but to me that game was lost and Neil needed to be taken care of for that night. If this was the regular season, maybe he would've fought Dingman may he wouldnt but the broader point is that in this series Neil has been a turd, the game was out of reach, and he deserved what he got (if not more).

  7. Brilliant, my ass. First of all the Bolts were not coming back in the 3rd, that was a cocktease. There was simply no way the Lightning's D was gonna hold up for 15 minutes or whenever the Dingman penalty took place in order for them to come back from three goals down. Dingman needed to send a message and he did that and what exactly did Neil do to BAIT him that was so brilliant stand there? Someone needed to beat his ass and I'm glad Dingman did.

  8. I havent posted here in a long time due to my job but there's a lot on my mind. First of all, I'm gonna apologize to Max, nl5 and whomever else I advocated John Grahame to, you were right and I was wrong (although tonight wasnt the proper game to pick on Grahame cause the Lightning D was ass and none of the goals were really that bad). Secondly, I dont care if the Lightning win this series (they wont) what I do want to see is great bodily harm caused to Chris Neil. In fact, I'm considering starting a club called Chris Neil is a cocksucker. This Claude Lemeiux son of a bitch is a turd who tried to pick on Lightning players smaller than him and when fought by Dingman tonight turtled like a little bitch. A few punches is not good enough for me I'm sorry I want to see him where he doesnt see the ice for the rest of the playoffs. So yeah the Lightning will lose but as long as Neil gets one beatdown per game and /or is eliminated for the rest of the postseason I'm happy.

  9. This will be a tough game for Nova today though, simply because I don't think this is the normal Donovan team that seems to fold in the NCAAs and Noah is quite impressive.

Billy Donovan had a lot of success early in his coaching career in the NCAA's (a Sweet 16 followed by a Final Four) then he by his own admission changed the type of player he was recruiting and went after athletes first instead of building a cohesive basketball team. Beginning in 04 he went back to recruiting the type of players that brought him so much early success and its now paying dividends. I think underachieving Donovan teams are a thing of the past (for the most part) now.

  10. Heres my stance on the mid-majors and the Missouri Valley issue. The four teams that got in from the Missouri Valley conference deserved to be there. However, and granted it wouldnt have been as egregious as letting Air Force in but I would've had a major issue with seeing 5 or 6 MVC teams in the tourney and having Cincy, Florida State or Michigan sitting out.
