Well Known Wrestlers Without Well Known Matches?

His match with Jushin Liger in the early 90s in the match that I always think of for Pillman, and still do to this day. I don't if any others felt that way growing up, but that was his best match for me. I also enjoyed the match with Luger at Halloween Havoc 88 or 89(?) that I saw recently. Edit: Never mind it's already been posted.

WWE General Discussion - November 2007

Anyone remember Greg Matthews from the first season. The guy with the bad back. Apparently he worked CZW for quite awhile on the undercard, started teaming with Rockin Rebel. Now has a wrestling school with RR and still wants into WWE. He was one of my favorites on the show, but I've never seen him wrestle really. http://www.blackballdwrestling.com/roster/bios/greg.html (that's the guy I'm talking about.) As far as Nowinski, I didn't know he was that bad. I knew he had the post-concussion syndrome but I thought he might still be able of taking a worked punch and stumble into the corner or something. Hawk(if thats the goofy one with the mushroom hairstyle) worked the indys last time I looked him up on the net. http://www.hawkamania.com/ apparently his official website

Well Known Wrestlers Without Well Known Matches?

Was this during his time with the Varsity Club? Those were good times. I don't know if that exact match was during that time period as it's been awhile since I saw it. I do know I like his work during the Varsity Club and a little bit past it as well. He made Tom Zenk look like a million bucks at Halloween Havoc 88 I believe.

Hogan's brief jobbing on Nitro '96

Hadn't they been jobbing Flair in PPV main events for quite awhile by this time, and Arn wasn't much better off if I remember correctly. I don't know the true backstage reason, but maybe they felt it was a way to keep Flair and Arn over after all the losses.

I don't know if you are talking about winners only, but there have been a few good things to come out of Tough Enough. I don't think any are great, but Nowinski, Matt Morgan, Shad Gaspard(SP?), Boogeyman all show or in Nowinski's case showed promise to me. Hell if WWE didn't have such a problem with using managers now, I'm sure they could slide Nowinski into that role.

I don't know if we are talking about Mike Rotunda's entire career or just his IRS run, but his match with Sting over the tv title pretty much defined what Rotunda was in my opinion. I'm surprised how much I like Rotunda's NWA stuff compared to his WWF and WCW/nWo work.

Well Known Wrestlers Without Well Known Matches?

Raven had a lot of matches I liked, but I'm trying to remember if he's had a match that everyone considers classic. Would some of his work with Dreamer in ECW be considered classic? Possibly the stuff with Benoit and DDP in WCW?

    Smackdown Spoilers - 11/2/07

Maybe a match with both Batista and Undertaker is in the cards for a short comeback?

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

I don't think there is one guy who's going to just catapult them into success. I mean they have plenty of name value already signed. If I really sit and think you'd have to come down to needing Steve Austin or The Rock to want to come back to wrestling a few days a month, and neither will happen for obvious reasons. That's just my opinion though.

    WWE announces 2007 DVDs

I assume we might see the Austin DVD, Mr.Perfect, possibly the rumored Rock best of. I think the Summerslam Boxset was mentioned for next year.

    Andre movie

Wasn't that Billy Crystal movie a few years back with the Giant supposed to be loosely based on Andre?

Oh I'd kill to see Ralphus make a return to wrestling. Probably one of the most entertaining truck drivers to ever grace a television screen.

Yeah I don't think Santino is the greatest thing since sliced bread, nor do I think he'll be a main event level talent. But if they gave him a role like the one suggested he has enough timing and charisma to give it a shot, and possibly surprise everybody with where he ends up. Whether or not he gets something like that is the key.

If they did all that correctly like you listed, he'd end up being a main event level talent.

There is also Sid Vicious I believe since I would assume TNA would forget his short run in ECW not ending with any gold. You could also consider Brock Lesnar, for his WWE and IWGP World Titles. However, I know it's probably Booker.
  17. I think the thing that's changed on Flair the most imo is his hair has thinned and his facial features seem to droop a little more, which comes with age. When he first came in he still had a little bit of youth to his looks, maybe going back on the road full time has aged him.

According to TNA Today, Sting's partner is a "former world champion in every organization he's wrestled for." That narrows down the choices a little bit.

    WWE announces 2007 DVDs

I picked up the Rey Mysterio dvd last night, and have watched it straight through, although I didn't watch anything on the third disc except for the HBK match since I've seen it all recently. It's fun to see how hes progressed in some ways and regressed in some ways as a worker due to injury and learning. Dean Malenko in 96 and 97 had to be one of the best workers around. I liked him as a kid, but now that I'm older I appreciate his work even more when I get to see it.

    I Am Legend

The Vincent Price version is fairly badass, and probably my favorite Price movie. He did have a few good ones though. The new version looks like it'll be interesting to see play out at the least.

I think Terry Funk is legit retired, and said he'll only do one or two indy shows a year from now on after ONS 2. I could be wrong, but I remember reading something about that. I know its an oxymoron to say Terry Funk and retired, but given his age I tend to think he is a little more serious about it now.

I think that could work, and if he wanted to dig and go way back he could even throw in the stun gun as signature move.
  23. Nor do I, what he did obviously worked for him at the time given his injuries. Not to mention he's someone I consider to be underrated for his ability to put on quality matches.
  24. Might not be, but I believe it's the reason Flair gave in his book for Austin calling his matches. I obviously have never worked with Steve Austin so I can't say for sure, but I have read it.
  25. Sorry about that I was typing fast, and typed santino instead of steamboat. There all is fixed.
