Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
The Buzz replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
The poll is still up by the way, someone said it'd been taken down. It's up on the list of headlines next to the main headline. Val Venis is still in the lead. -
Val Venis(whom I voted for) is winning the who would like to see as next WWE Champion poll on WWE.com. Triple H is in second and I didn't check on what place Orton was in. I believe Mr. Kennedy is in third. Since Val Venis is only that high up because of the smarks I'm sure he'll get the Stevie Richards treatment if they mention the poll on tv.

There was pretty good Finlay vs Dean Malenko match I just saw on youtube, I'll look for the link later and post it if I can find it again.

ECW 10.2.07 (Vince McMahon McMahon to make WWE Title announcment)
The Buzz replied to Hawk 34's topic in The WWE Folder
I'll be stunned if we get a fresh match up of Tommy Dreamer vs CM Punk at the pay-per-view. -
Throat cancer I believe, I could be wrong, but I believe the book he wrote recently has a lot of information about what he went through as well as his career.
-
Well I remember hearing a number that no ROH dvd has sold more than 10,000 copies. So probably I don't with word of mouth, fans possibly not wanting to pay for a ppv and the dvd, new curious fans. 5,000-20,000 buyers? For all I know that number 10,000 might be bogus.
-
I'll probably still get that pay-per-view because the mark in me wants to see the outsiders, sid, ultimo dragon, and the great muta, and I wanna see how well Dr. Death wrestles now after his battle with cancer.
-
Both the Scorpion King and Gridiron Gang were in the number one spot in the opening weekend, and I believe SK lasted a second week in the top spot. I can't confirm that any of his other movies were ever in the top spot though. I used Box Office Mojo to find this out in case any one was wondering my source.

Thanks for the great shoots, can anyone upload Scott Hall's new shoot by any chance?
-
Oh yeah I forgot about this one, I saw a pretty good old school match between Lou Thez and Antonio Rocca the other day that featured some good mat work. It was on 24/7 might still be there under shorties.
-
Last I heard Amazing Red has been pretty much phased out from most indys due to his style being so spotty, and there being workers who are able to work that style better while adding some story to a match at the same time. Plus as it's been said his knee was pretty fucked up, but I will say I enjoyed a few of his matches myself. A match from ROH with Low Ki in particular sticks out in my mind.
-
While the match wasn't the greatest with Sting still testing his boundaries after the knee injury, Great American Bash 1990 vs Ric Flair for the NWA World Title. The crowd was pretty damn electric that night, and the pop when Sting reversed the figure four into the cradle and got the win was damn good. I second many of the WWF based finishes listed in the thread, and thought I'd add two Austin related finishes, although they may have already been listed. The I quit match from Mania 13 and the finish to the championship match at Mania 17 were both good finishes.

Some of the better ones that come to mind for me are Eddie Guerrero vs Benoit from Armageddon 02. The aforementioned Flair/Steamboat trilogy. Finlay and Regal pretty much always have a good snug technical match with some english striking thrown in for good measure. Angle/Benoit from the Rumble was obviously a good one. I think Sting and Muta had some damn good matches that I'd classify as technical in 89, 91, 92. Also Low Ki/Bryan Danielson from I believe round robin challenge? That match was pretty much the match that kept me interested wrestling after WCW went out of business, and WWF wasn't setting me on fire.
-
I think it's damn possible to have matches above three stars with the likes of Jarrett, Sting, Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, and hell even Rhino. I'm not saying any of them are the Rembrandt of wrestling, but to be honest neither is Joe.
-
I like the ECW dvd cover art December to Dismember not included. Roddy Piper has a badass dvd layout in my opinion. I think the McMahon cover is pretty cool too.
-
Damn that surprises me, and doesn't sound like all the other reports I've heard about Joe. I mean I could tell he had a little bit of an attitude, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But I'm wondering if the fact that his style is slowly catching up on him injury wise, and his spot on the card hasn't moved much since he debuted is eating at him.
-
I thought that one CSI guy was making like either half a million to a million an episode I'm surprised he didn't make the list.
-
I can still see him doing a fight or two. I think he's just trying to create leverage to get a few fight deal with UFC that will allow him to continue to wrestle.
-
Well like someone said previously in the thread, if they bring him in as a big deal and treat him as such he will be a big deal. If they bring him in as a big deal and then bury him right off the bat then he will be back to where he was six months before he left.
-
I like John Cena and all, but how the fuck did he manage to make his way on a guy's all-time favorites list that seems to have been watching for 20 plus years. That's pretty cool that a celebrity like Nicholson likes wrestling. I like hearing about celebrities that like it, such as Arnold and Nicholson.
-
I just think WWE likes the perception that their is no other wrestling but them. They occasionally change that mindset when it's convenient to their pockets, and even then most of the time they miss the boat. It's kind of like how we know WWE bought WCW, and their had to be atleast a decent amount of WWE fans who were also WCW fans, and their had to be a decent amount of WCW fans who were going to check out WWE if they weren't already fans, and they bring DDP in as a stalker? Even for the heel DDP that character change was so out of left field. I guess the biggest pet peeve of mine with WWE as far as forgetting if when two guys had a really hot feud years earlier that resulted in a couple matches, and then 2 years later if they have been reasonably seperated it's suddenly a first time match.

Has anyone read the story linked to that page about the UK girl who killed herself after she stole a pop and bag of candy from her work and got fired, which apparently was out of character. She was then disciplined from her parents when they found out what happened by talking to the shop owner, and after texting with some friends about wanting to die she snuck out at ten at night and hung herself in the woods. Just about to start either high school or college, can't remember which. I think it's pretty sad. here is the link http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/fema...in_page_id=1879 EDIT: In regards to the fight, in the four years I was in high school I think I've only heard of maybe three fights occurring between boys, and they were all broken up quickly. I remember having two jocks talk shit to me online because I didn't like something one of them did regarding me. After they decided to threaten me for about a week I finally told them to come tell me their problem to my face since we had a class together. Nothing was ever said again, but I'll be damned if girls aren't a different breed. I remember one fight that resembled a UFC fight if the participants had first gulped down a bottle of Jack Daniels. The one girl tackled the other down did the wwe style head smashing to the ground. Then she began to throw some wild punches to the head that ended up punishing the grass more then the girls head.

I usually like what they do with Sting in TNA, but I just saw him just lay down one helluva beating on Judas, and if I was a casual fan I would have written off Judas as a monster heel in all sense of the word. Sting beat him like he was a whore who didn't pay her pimp.

Examples of a Wrestler TRULY Being Put Over
The Buzz replied to zappafrank's topic in General Wrestling
I agree with that ROH sentiment. Pretty much whoever finally beat Joe had a rocket ship to overness in ROH. That pop wasn't the loudest I've heard, but definitely one of the most unique. -
It's not like I'm looking at the ring announcer for more than five seconds when a match is starting.
