  1. I like how he wasn't afraid to pull any punches, and spoke how he felt. Judging by the interview, he said the same things a lot of fans have been saying for the past few years.
  2. I just watched the show last night. Good memories. Warrior and Savage=two of the craziest guys in wrestling (in or out of character) so the team seemed to click pretty well.

    Best ECW shows ever?

Barely Legal 97 is the only ECW show i've seen, but I thought it was a pretty good show for an indy promotion.
  4. Was this the match where DDP did one of the sickest blade jobs I've ever seen?

    Pre-Starrcade 98 Sting

Well at the end of the day. Sting is still a legend to be mentioned in the same sentence with guys like Austin, Hogan, Foley, Rock, Flair, Steamboat, etc. But had the match been done better, he may have finally had a great title reign that he never really had.

    PBP During Show

I know this is a waste of a post. But this is how I feel after tonight. *sighs and shakes head*

    Pre-Starrcade 98 Sting

At that point WCW really had a chance to cement their place as the number one promotion, with Sting riding high as champion. But instead they overbooked/misbooked the match and it was the first nail in the coffin of WCW.

    Orton/Venis

I thought Val was getting over nicely with the chief morley gimmick. Then they squashed him with the dudleys. Then Austin...and oh what's this the fourth return of VAL VENIS! I think Val will get another push down the road, and hopefully he can capitalize on it. He did probably miss his boat to ever become a main event competitor, however.

    Some WWE news items.

It's gotta suck if you're wreckless with one of your only moves.
  10. I am one of sting's biggest fans but I'd rather he stay retired or work tna for two reasons. I don't think he deserves to have to put up with the wwe bullshit after working in wcw for most of his career. And secondly...as much as Sting is worth seeing for a year or two....Luger is just that much more not worth it.

Nash & Savage To TNA ??

"i saw sting on tna. he sucked and was fat. it made me not want to watch tna because i was afraid he was going to take up the show. bringing old stars in for name recognition is only good for a hyped up match or commissioner/announcer role. non smarks do realize that a 50 year old man cannot beat a 20 year old man in a fight. " Someone needs some glasses. I don't care if you thought the match sucked. But the man wasn't what I'd call fat. *raises eyebrow*
  12. If you played UFC tapout then uve played sudden impact. But if you havent Sudden Impact is worth picking up. I've enjoyed it.

    Mr. America

    I actually enjoyed Big Show/Brock..........
  14. They should use the money they blow on the weekly pay-per-views and advertise their monthly ppvs, and their product in general on tv.

Scherer Reports Turner Getting Back in

IMO if he can lure guys like DDP, Sting, Austin, and Goldberg into wrestling full time to get it started. Then yes it's more than possible for him to start from scratch. The latter three of that list were some of the top draws from 97-99. I can see Turner luring away a lot of NWA: TNA talent for the mid card. The big downfall in all of this is unless Turner decides to find people who know how to run a wrestling company this time around, he's going to fail in the end...again.

    WWE figure images

The more recent figures of Big Show, Ric Flair etc have the realistic bodies. Theres a special series now that has realistic scanned bodies.

Scherer Reports Turner Getting Back in

DDP, Sting, Nash, Hall, Hogan, Goldberg, Austin are all big names out there right now. And the only one who can wrestle, Sting, probably won't want to work in a full time enviroment again. This could be cool, but I'd much rather see him invest money in a promotion like TNA.
  18. Sting vs Goldberg(their first televised encounter, fun match)-Monday Nitro 98 Bret Hart vs Chris Benoit-"Owen Hart Tribute" Monday Nitro(considered a great match, but often overlooked) and a lot of older wwe/nwa stuff.
  19. I don't know why everyone keeps saying he couldnt cut the promos live. I've read about five live reports from around that time that said he got a huge babyface response when cutting the "devil's advocate" promos. I mean he was never a great worker, but he in no way blew his shot. It was taken. End of Story.

    DDP Coming back....

I'd like to see him do maybe a final run meaning maybe 6 months-1 year max of work in TNA. And even then I don't wanna' see him work every week just for health reasons. He seems like he mind is made up on coming back so if he is I hope he returns under terms close to this.
  21. Sting(full time) DDP(for a few matches) Kanyon D'Lo(full time) Homicide

    Favorite Finishing Moves

Scorpion Deathlock Ultimate Slam, Splash Combo Abyss's Black Hole Slam and Torture Rack Backbreaker The one move that I would mark out for like no other is the Tazmission. I just loved how Taz just slapped it on and held on no matter what. Powerbomb is a good finisher if you have a great big man giving it. Like Vader.

    Favorite video package?

Sting/Hogan Starrcade 97....what should have propelled WCW into bigger heights was the sign of fucked up things to come.

    Val Venis

Val Venis has no chance of ever being a top draw in WWE, but if he gets released he has a chance to be a big name indy guy. And maybe move to TNA and become a main eventer. Val was still getting decent pops during 2003, but unless he's given serious pushing he's just another jobber. The tools are there...the look is there...charisma, wrestling, look=talent........Then again the WWE does not like to push its talented workers for hte most part.
